1001 Albums Summary

It’s a nice background album, and different to what I knew Jazz to be. Interesting to hear the transition from Acoustic Jazz to Jazz Fushion.

Very different vibes from early Elvis. Seemed more chill, and loved In The Ghetto.

It’s interesting listening to the early rock music that would later influence both rock and pop genres. It’s a cohesive album with a flowing theme.

First listen was a 1 star, but listening more I got more into it than I originally expected. Actually started to enjoy it.

Christina Aguilera is talented, and her voice is incredible, but this album teeters between two worlds - modern (at the time) pop tracks and classic soul ballads with some modern influence. The latter is great, especially the last four tracks of the album, but the rest just aren’t there for me. Also, the “Thank You” track is too much. This comes across much less as a thank you to fans and far more a ‘look at how great everyone thinks I am’.

I can appreciate the significance of this album, it being a turning point for RHCP, and the success of it. However, RHCP has just never been my jam.

Not an album I would seek out, but I did thoroughly enjoy it!

I wish I could give this album 4.5 stars. It is soooo good. Never heard this artist before, but I’m a big fan and will be listening to them more!

It was fine, appreciated the minimalism of it, the call and response vocals, but wouldn’t say it got me excited.

The first album I couldn’t finish. Overwhelmed by all the sounds.

So many great songs. Classic Americana.

Everyone knows the title track, but the entire album is a banger. Found myself dancing to it while just doing chores around the house.

The rhythm and music itself feels very repetitive, which I suppose is expected for old-time country. You can certainly hear the gospel influence throughout. The lyrics are what carry the album, but even so, meh. It’s just fine, not my cup of tea.

New artist to me, but really enjoyed this album! Will be adding to the rotation.
