The beginning was a little slow for me personally, but I kind of expected that. Ray Charles has very captivating vocals. I’m a fan of the song “It Had To Be You”. “Two Years of Torture” is brilliant. I love it when he did more balladic songs like, “When Your Lover Has Gone” and “Just For A Thrill.” The songwriting on that is brilliant. It felt like some of it was quite repetitive, though.

the guitar playing is gorgeous. Gorgeous vocals. I never thought I’d enjoy country music this much. The lyrics are fantastic and I felt like I was listening to a singing audiobook.

This entire thing is a complete masterpiece (just ignore Jamaican Jerkoff lol). The album is incredibly diverse and it is pulled off extremely well. All of it is so uniquely Elton. Absolutely unbelievable. WOWWWWW! :) I LOVE Funeral For a Friend, Bennie and the Jets, Candle in the Wind, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, The Ballad of Danny Bailey and Dirty Little Girl, All The Girls Love Alice.

King has such an incredible voice and stage presence. Worry, Worry is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The only song I didn’t care for was You Upset Me Baby, but even then, his vocals alone make up for the parts of the song I dislike. At times, I would like to be able to hear his guitar over the band. The vocals are extremely raw and gritty, which is why I love them. The guitar is incredible. Everything about this album is extremely immersive. I didn’t get bored once. Overall, you can’t get much better than him. This is legendary.

Starting off with the quintessential Blues song, this album contains many greats, especially the opening track and, for me personally, “The Blues Had A Baby And Named It Rock”, and “Crosseyed Cat.” It also contains a couple of oddballs that prevent me from giving it a full five. But this is the Chicago Blues at its very finest!

The musicianship is excellent. I love the psychedelia so much. Such a cool listen, even if some songs bored me a bit.

I honestly just felt bored listening to this. I loved the general pro-working class and antiwar themes, but I felt like the album as a whole was lackluster. The hits are great on their own. The album simply isn’t diverse enough for me to enjoy it.

I would recommend people check out Pattie Boyd’s autobiography to learn more about how she (“Layla”) was treated by him.

Iconic album. I love it. Many people in the reviews said that it sounds “very 80s” or shitting on it because it’s pop music. Of course music from the 80s is going to sound like it comes from the 80s. I think thats what makes it very charming and appealing to me. I was personally very impressed with this album’s social commentary. Something like this was absolutely pushing the boundaries of social commentary in the 1980s, even if it sounds cheesy now. This was a fantastic record.

I don't think Mick Jagger's vocals were ever meant for country rock, honestly. That's why I knocked it lower. This period is interesting because it marks The Rolling Stones ultimate transition into being *the* rock band as The Beatles were breaking up, and you can see how they were inspiring each other too. This was also released a few days before The Rolling Stones Rock N Roll Circus which is, in my opinion, their best live performance. I don't believe this album showcases much of their talent well, but it is picked up by Sympathy for the Devil, Parachute Woman, Jigsaw Puzzle and Street Fighting Man.

Amazing. Eccentric. Absolutely loved it. The instrumentation is so lush and the storytelling is top notch.

I love how great of a storyteller she is. Some of the songs bored me, but I enjoyed the more folksy ones.
