1001 Albums Summary

My first time listening to the entire album. Aside from "Basket Case" which is an all time classic that's been on my main playlist for ages, I struggled to meaningfully differentiate any of the other tracks on this album. None really stood out for me.

A really cool album to just sit and vibe to. I enjoyed a lot of tracks, more than I normally do on a random album. The tracks I found memorable include: Think About Me, Sara, What Makes You Think You're The One?, Sisters of the Moon, Angel, That's Enough For Me, I Know I'm Not Wrong, Beautiful Child, Tusk, Never Forget

I really liked the vocals and the guitar. Its the kind of upbeat album I could have playing while I work on something creative. I've not listened to Elvis Costello before so I enjoyed getting to know his early work a bit better.

Bit too cocaine-y for me, I didn't really enjoy any track.

Amazing voice and guitar work, you can really sink into the rhythm and just close your eyes and stomp your foot in time to the beat. Mannish Boy is an all time classic. Even though I didn't know the rest of the album before hand, I enjoyed it.

Not really my thing, too arty-weird.

I found her voice really powerful and I enjoyed a few tracks, specifically: Broken English, The Ballard of Lucy Jordan, and What's The Hurry? The album felt like a mood I could sink into.

I enjoyed it more than the Thin White Duke era but I didn't save any songs beyond Star Man.

More of a mood piece than an individual track piece, I enjoyed playing the whole album from start to finish. But I don't think Grunge is really for me.

The first album I had never heard of the artist before. Decent vibes but not memorable for me, I'm too far removed from the genre.

A real vibe, it felt exactly like 1999 in so many ways, a proper time capsule. I'm not super familiar with the genre but I liked this album enough to save a few tracks.

Its got the theme song to Whale Wars.

I prefer Janis Joplin when she was solo compared to this earlier group stuff but it was still nice to hear her.

Alanis's voice is still incredible.

Couple proper bangers in here, all time classics. Shout and Everybody Wants to Rule the World. I love the use of saxophone throughout.

I enjoyed the way they sound so much like their time period; it was pretty easily listening overall and I could picture having the album playing while driving. I especially liked Do It Again.

Classic album, one of the best by Billy Joel.

Sounds like something that would've been on an early Tony Hawk's Pro Skater soundtrack

I prefer Johnny Cash.

Very funky, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

There's the one where they rip off Father and Son.

Peak jazz but I prefer tracks with singing alongside.
