1001 Albums Summary

Jazzy! Listened while making brekky and it kinda hit :) liked the instrumentals especially piano and sax

more jazz, which I truly hadn’t listened to much before this week, guess I’m a fan?! this one felt a little more funky, pretty upbeat, again great instrumentals… it’s a longer album tho with 2 discs and some side chatter since it’s live at Newport which makes it feel like someone is telling you an old story

Love the first song… the last one was good too. Some of the others were a little creepy (mother stands for comfort, waking the witch). Overall super creative but wouldn’t necessarily listen again. Love the dogs on the album cover tho. Witchy vibes, would maybe play around Halloween??

Ok so maybe I just like all music… I especially liked the piano solo in crystal ship. Light my fire was cool too. Kind of iconic that the last song is called the end. Don’t feel like I need to listen again tho.

First album we’ve had that I already had songs saved from. I love it. The boxer I could listen to on repeat forever bc it makes me feel content. I like the instruments and the harmonizing and that the songs tell stories.

The drumming is quite skilled but all the songs kinda sound the same to me. I was tired of it by the end (I say this as if I made it to the end, I did not). Liked some of the covers (Wipeout) but like the original better…

great content, California Dreamin is a longtime fav but hadn’t listened to any of the others before, I’m a fan :) might have to make Monday Monday my alarm for mondays it’s very relatable, also low key want do you wanna dance to play at my wedding

cover art is giving cool dude energy we love mountains and dogs but ik that’s not what I’m supposed to be evaluating… listened to this while studying and it was mellow enough to be good study music but I do NOT like the song about shooting someone down by the river. jail. the violin in running dry was awesome tho

not my vibe. already had enjoy the silence saved tho, I do like that one

Cool sounds and good voice. I think these would be fire live but the recording’s not doing them justice.

Listened with Nina while we were having a quintessential BOSTON snow day. Took the red line downtown and listened on the train. Obviously love more than a feeling but discovered some other good ones!

I think it says something that my favorite song on this album has no lyrics (a maidens prayer). I find his voice quite annoying.

These all feel like what would play while a well-loved character is slowly dying in a movie, instrumentals are good esp strings and guitar

some classics on here for sure!! they’re fun and nostalgic bc my parents played them a lot growing up

Listened while baking and it felt very old-timey and matched the happy kitchen vibes, sometimes no lyrics is nice

I was conflicted on what to rate this because some songs are sooo good (tonight, tonight, galapogos, 1979) but others were so harsh and grating that I had to skip.
