Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins

I was conflicted on what to rate this because some songs are sooo good (tonight, tonight, galapogos, 1979) but others were so harsh and grating that I had to skip.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet

I imagine this playing in a hotel restaurant in downtown Chicago…

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Jan 04 2026

Jazzy! Listened while making brekky and it kinda hit :) liked the instrumentals especially piano and sax

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Jan 05 2026

more jazz, which I truly hadn’t listened to much before this week, guess I’m a fan?! this one felt a little more funky, pretty upbeat, again great instrumentals… it’s a longer album tho with 2 discs and some side chatter since it’s live at Newport which makes it feel like someone is telling you an old story

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Jan 06 2026

Love the first song… the last one was good too. Some of the others were a little creepy (mother stands for comfort, waking the witch). Overall super creative but wouldn’t necessarily listen again. Love the dogs on the album cover tho. Witchy vibes, would maybe play around Halloween??

The Doors by The Doors
Jan 07 2026

Ok so maybe I just like all music… I especially liked the piano solo in crystal ship. Light my fire was cool too. Kind of iconic that the last song is called the end. Don’t feel like I need to listen again tho.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Jan 08 2026

First album we’ve had that I already had songs saved from. I love it. The boxer I could listen to on repeat forever bc it makes me feel content. I like the instruments and the harmonizing and that the songs tell stories.

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
Jan 09 2026

The drumming is quite skilled but all the songs kinda sound the same to me. I was tired of it by the end (I say this as if I made it to the end, I did not). Liked some of the covers (Wipeout) but like the original better…

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Jan 10 2026

great content, California Dreamin is a longtime fav but hadn’t listened to any of the others before, I’m a fan :) might have to make Monday Monday my alarm for mondays it’s very relatable, also low key want do you wanna dance to play at my wedding

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Jan 11 2026

cover art is giving cool dude energy we love mountains and dogs but ik that’s not what I’m supposed to be evaluating… listened to this while studying and it was mellow enough to be good study music but I do NOT like the song about shooting someone down by the river. jail. the violin in running dry was awesome tho

Violator by Depeche Mode
Jan 12 2026

not my vibe. already had enjoy the silence saved tho, I do like that one

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Jan 13 2026

Beautiful songs plus social justice messages 🤩 I had fast car and talkin bout a revolution saved already but just saved 3 more!! I love music with meaning — she’s so talented.

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Jan 14 2026

I wanted to like her but I don’t :// Also re the album cover don’t smoke friends, risk factor for like every single thing in medicine except ulcerative colitis #funfact

The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas
Jan 15 2026

perhaps electronica is a genre I don’t care for, also death not my fav topic

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Jan 16 2026

Good not great. We hate it when our friends become successful was low key funny…

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jan 17 2026

Cool sounds and good voice. I think these would be fire live but the recording’s not doing them justice.

Jan 19 2026

Umm embarrassing because I was like who’s MGMT??? And then realized that I’ve heard at least 3 of these songs many many times without ever knowing the artist. Good vibes 😎

Boston by Boston
Jan 20 2026

Listened with Nina while we were having a quintessential BOSTON snow day. Took the red line downtown and listened on the train. Obviously love more than a feeling but discovered some other good ones!

Jan 21 2026

I think it says something that my favorite song on this album has no lyrics (a maidens prayer). I find his voice quite annoying.

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Jan 22 2026

silly timing that there’s a song called australia iykyk album was nothing special imo

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Jan 23 2026

I liked wild horses. I know they’re like super famous but honestly this album wasn’t my fav

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Jan 24 2026

The guitar is kinda relaxing but album as a whole is mid

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Jan 26 2026

These all feel like what would play while a well-loved character is slowly dying in a movie, instrumentals are good esp strings and guitar

Document by R.E.M.
Jan 27 2026

some classics on here for sure!! they’re fun and nostalgic bc my parents played them a lot growing up

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jan 28 2026

Listened while baking and it felt very old-timey and matched the happy kitchen vibes, sometimes no lyrics is nice

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Jan 29 2026

Expected to hate. Actually enjoyed.

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
Jan 30 2026

I dislike the singing. The songs without vocals are tolerable.

Feb 01 2026

don’t love the breaking glass, screaming, or fast pace… quite stress-inducing, but I suppose these are good for movie soundtracks

Dare! by The Human League
Feb 02 2026

Don’t you want me is a certified classic, rest of album was good but not mind-blowing

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Feb 03 2026

love the name of the album, it matches the music well :) very soulful

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Feb 04 2026

It’s giving action movie soundtrack, except more edgy

Dance Mania by Tito Puente
Feb 06 2026

Good vibes, made me wanna salsa down the sidewalk

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Feb 07 2026

Take me out obviously a banger but there were several others, album was kinda hype 😎
