Its Queen, its obviously good. That said, I do not feel blown away by the album in any particular way. This feels very similar in several aspects to other albums by other bands coming out around the same time. Lacking (in my case) historical context to what Freddie may be singing about also tends to leave me feeling nothing strong about the album. I do not know, at the time of typing this, what order any of the other classic rock albums I get reminders of came out so I will not hold this against the album, BUT, I get strong reminders of Boston, early Rush, and Wall era Pink Floyd. Aside from Freddie's voice and some obvious Brian May-ism on the guitar, I wouldn't immediately pick this out as Queen. My review could be utter horseshit, as I stated I lack context for the time this was written and don't know off the top of my head who did what first. Good album overall, just didn't feel blown away.
The opening track is a phenomenal way to start an album, this was right up my alley (even the silly genre changes mid album), the lyrics were fun and melodramatic in the best way. I would have been insufferable had I heard the whole album in high school.
Wished it was over by 2nd track, but kept going for a bit (could not finish the album). The 3rd track saw Jack doing a bizarre almost rap filled with awful falsettos at the ends of lines and what sounds like a toddler's attempt at mimicking Tom Morello on guitar. The album (from what I could get through) felt like Jack's audition to be the worst member of The Black Keys.
This was my very first venture into Prince's music, I somehow made it to nearly 26 years of age without hearing him anywhere. I put this album on and for the majority of the album was left confused as to why Prince is held in such high regard. I thought most of the songs were just okay and maybe something was wrong with me for not seeing the genius I'd heard so much about. As the album went on I came away with multiple tracks I enjoyed very much but they did not carry the rest of the album for me. For a good portion of the songs the instrumentals feel kind of flat and uninteresting, however songs like I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man and The Cross sound lively and fun. After finishing this album I thought maybe there was something wrong with me for not "getting" Prince, I then threw on Purple Rain for the first time and was immediately corrected. Purple Rain was fantastic and I can't wait for it to show up here for me to talk about my thoughts on it, but until then it left me with the opinion that Sign O' The Times is just okay, certainly not Prince's best work but not the worst thing I've ever heard.
Fun, love the instrumentals, especially the clavinet. Stevie's lyrics are incredible, he transports me effortlessly to the story of each song.
The instrumentals are the best part of the album all the way through. The vocals are not quite for me, however the lyrics are enjoyable and I feel sympathy for the singer in their struggles with their gender dysphoria. My favorite track was Fistful of Love, if there were more of that approach to the rest of the album it would receive a higher rating from me. Might listen to again in the future as background noise because of the instrumentals but I don't see myself returning to this often.
A fine album, I've not quite tapped into the part of my brain that can truly appreciate jazz yet so for me this just feels like an album I'd put on in the background while cooking or playing board games with people. Not sure that I particularly got anything out of the album but it was a nice detour from my usual listening. Loved the organ and sax most of all.
I feel nothing listening to this album. The lyrics are shallow even for this period of music and the guitar solos are nothing to write home about. I've heard plenty of music from the same era of rock that have deeper lyrics and better guitar solos (as an example, Jimi Hendrix had already been an established musician by this point and was putting out far more enjoyable music that satisfies on both lyrics and solos). I didn't need to hear this album, it did nothing for me. If it was on in the background I wouldn't care but I would never intentionally put it on for myself to hear again.

Album started with some sauce, digging the strings, bongos are fun, some interesting electronic sections. The Terry Callier feature is great, his voice compliments Beth's very well, that track felt like something I'd slow dance with my girlfriend to. This album overall feels like something you'd hear in a combination coffee shop book store that does live music on Fridays, and I personally dig it. I feel like the album goes on slightly longer than it needs too, by track 10 I was ready for it to be over or do something else new and exciting.

I don't have a whole lot to say about this album, its pretty good. I've never taken it upon myself to dive into Janis' music aside from Piece Of My Heart, so this was a decent time.
I had a very good time with this album, I will definitely return to it in the future. Favorite track is Souvenir
My last experience with Jack White was his first solo album and I hated it. I don't know that I currently have the mental energy to give another Jack White project. I will give 2 stars purely because Seven Nation Army is good. Maybe I'll be brave enough to venture back and give the whole album a listen, at which point I will update my review.
