1001 Albums Summary

Aretha has an incredible voice, obviously, but apart from Respect and A Change is Gonna Come I have a hard time separating the songs. They're all a bit samey to me, might be the arrangements or the production, I'm not sure.

Soooo good! Incredibly engaging throughout, with interesting melodies, beautiful arrangements and deep and personal lyrics. I listened to this three times in a row.

Probably amazing live in a seedy club with sticky floors, alas, I'm listening to this in my office. Not a bad listen, very teen-angsty. Probably won't come back to it though.

Thorougly enjoyable listen, but doesn't hit me emotionally. I like the whimsical arrangements.

15 seconds in, this is so my shit. I think you have to be in the right mood to enjoy this wall of sound. Fortunately, I'm in that mood most days.

Sounds a little bit like Oasis, sounds a little bit like Keane, sounds a little bit like nothing. Not very surprised I haven't hear of this band before, but it's not unpleasant. Actually, the further I get, the blander this sounds. I am still listening through, but I've already forgotten it. Why is it here? I guess it doesn't offend my ears.

Such a gentle, thoughtful album. Best listened to at dusk or dawn, I imagine.

NOSTALGIA! Me and my middle school friends started our first band to play these songs, so I can't even pretend to be even a little bit objective. I still think this is a banging, no-skip album<3

Enjoyed this way more than thought I would. Really like how it's divided into movements, like a symphony. A gentle flow.

The most annoying guy in my high school class loooved the doors, so I'm a bit biased against this.

I just have to accept that Taylor isn't for me. I find her melodies very repetitive. To me this album is to overproduced and clean cut to really hit that folk vibe, but it's not fun enough to be addictive as good pop can be. I liked the tracks featuring other artists the only memorable ones, and that says it all.

I think this album overstays its welcome just a bit, but it put me in a good mood, and I really needed that.

I love Talking Heads so much. No notes.

Angels is the cheesiest, most perfect pop ballad ever<3. Three stars just for that.

I knew I was going to love this, Whithin you Without you is my favourite Beatles song after all. More albums should include theory interspersed throughout.

I usually really like T-Rex, but I guess I usually get them in smaller doses. This was a bit too long and a bit too samey for me.
