Queen II by Queen

Aggressively Mid

Tidal by Fiona Apple

If a 5 Star Album has "Three Good Songs & No Bad Ones" (a la Roger Ebert's view of Great Films), then what should we rate an album in which every song is good? Think how "Rumours", "Led Zeppelin IV", "Dark Side of the Moon" are projects deserving more than a perfect rating. While I wouldn't say Tidal is as amazing as the three albums I've just listed, it is comparable in that I saved every track to my personal playlist. Beautiful singing accompanying Beautiful lyrics accentuated by Beautiful piano.

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Feb 04 2026

Once in a Lifetime - Pretty Good I enjoy how the album starts upbeat and transitions to the slow dreamy vibe in the second half. This might not be the right genre for me, but it's cool as a project.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Feb 05 2026

Heard it many times over the years. A classic. Excited to hear it again. ---- Yep. Even better than I remember.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Feb 06 2026

Very good, but not S-Tier like "In Rainbows" from yesterday. The best song on the album is the very first one, which is always a bit of a bummer.

Some good tracks, but nothing special

Exactly what I expected. In a good way.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Feb 27 2026

I dont give out many 1s. This is the worst album I have ever heard, but I love it in a sense. There are some good tracks, surprisingly. "Trouble Every Day" and "Anyway The Wind Blows" are added to my personal playlist. The fact that there are good songs on the album makes it worse in a sense. For example, the Adam & The Ants album on this list is clearly a 1 Star album. Bad from beginning to end. "Freak Out!" on the other hand is like going on bad first date. Awkward at first, then you see the good in the person midway through, but quickly find out that they have some weird s*it going on. Imagine if you gave an insane person acid, then let them into the DJ room in the back of Guitar Center. That is what experiencing "Help, I'm a Rock" is like.

Unexpectedly Good.

GI by Germs

I hate giving 1's, but what's a MF supposed to do?

Goo by Sonic Youth
Mar 08 2026

I found myself not loving the songs but kind of liking the album. I don't know how to explain it, but I feel like the album is... odd? I guess

Live At Leeds by The Who

Way better than I'd anticipated
