Popular Reviews

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers

5 - Ok I can't argue with an album labeled the greatest album of the 20th century. Also another one I grew up listening to on cassette in my dad's work truck. 'Jamming' was probably my favorite song as a child. Nostalgia + Iconicity = 5stars. Fav Songs: Jamming, Exodus, Turn your Lights Down Low, + all the others tbh

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith

4 - whatever this type of music is called I' a big fan. All I know is I love this goofy lil organ. It always reminds me of spongebob

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 05 2026

Love the power ballad ending. The piano send off absolutely sent me. Starts off strong and made me want to listen by a body of water.

Guero by Beck
Feb 06 2026

3 - iconic beginning. I've never really given Beck enough credit for being so emblematic. Every song sounds like a great piece for a movie. Crazy to hear the influence they've had on later bands and also to recognize such a broad range of influence they've used on this album.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Feb 09 2026

3 - Always fun, funky and suave. Not my fav work of theirs but Runaway Child is such a hit. Great album for a lil weekend get together

Bossanova by Pixies
Feb 10 2026

3- not my fav pixies album, although I do love them so so so much. Fav Song: Havalina is a long time fav

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Feb 11 2026

4 - UGH a classic - only rating a 4 because its not something I'd listen to regularly and I cant give perfect scores away that easily.

Repeater by Fugazi
Feb 12 2026

3 - I only know Fugazi from their Demo album 'Instrument Soundtrack' so to hear them in full form was a big switch up. A bit more hard than what I'd normally listen to but a good listen regardless. Fav Songs: Merchandise, Greed, Blueprint

The Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
Feb 13 2026

3.5 - Loved this one. Love the 60s/early 70s ambiance that it creates. Really feel the americana, country-esque feeling that California musicians so often evoke. Never had listened to them before this and was suriprised by that. Fav Songs: Hippie Boy!!!!! , Hot Burrito #2 , Do Right Woman, Christine's Tune

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Feb 16 2026

5 - okay i have to do it. a 5. a rare 5. This is one of the most iconic and prolific albums to come when and where it did, ESPECIALLY if you live in NY. I have personally have had some of my favorite moments listening to live music during 2 of the songs on this album. I don't think its perfect, but goddamn it sure is close. Fav songs: Get Innoculous! , North American Scum , Someone Great , All My Friends , NY I Love You...

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Feb 17 2026

2.75/3 - Not what I'd regularly listen to but alot alot of fun. Nver really gave them a chance outside of the few big songs. Shining Star is the craziest start I LOVE it. I would give this intor a 5/5 but the rest of the album wasnt as potent until Africano. Fav Songs: Shining Star , Africano

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Feb 18 2026

5 - Okay well this one is unfair because it's one of my favorite albums ever. One of the greatest rock bands of all time at their peak, cosplaying Americana, witty and balanced, with almost no low moments in the album. Fav songs: Wild Horses (prob a top 5 song in my life) , Dead Flowers + every other but those are top 2

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
Feb 19 2026

3.5 - Never listened to them before but was a surprisingly big fan. Felt Talking Heads-ish, The Smiths-ish, The Cure-ish at times. Almost had a Southern Asia / Indian note to their instrumentals. Some Epic solos too. Fav songs: The Cutter, My White Devil, Gods will be Gods

Drunk by Thundercat
Feb 20 2026

3.75 - Such an iconic artist and album, Them Changes was actually my personality my senior year of college. So funk and cool and untouchable basslines. Only rating it below a 4 because I only really care to listen to probably 30% of the album outside of the album as a whole. Fav songs: Them Changes, Jethro, Walk on By

The Next Day by David Bowie
Feb 23 2026

2.5 - Not my favorite Bowie, although respectable. I appreciate it more than I like it. I deeply admire his ability to reinvent himself over and over, and continue to push his creative envelope without letting himself get stale.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Feb 24 2026

5 - Ok I can't argue with an album labeled the greatest album of the 20th century. Also another one I grew up listening to on cassette in my dad's work truck. 'Jamming' was probably my favorite song as a child. Nostalgia + Iconicity = 5stars. Fav Songs: Jamming, Exodus, Turn your Lights Down Low, + all the others tbh

Risque by CHIC
Feb 25 2026

3.5 - LE FREAK, C'EST CHIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could give the first and last songs a 5, but the middle ones didn't have the same impact to me. Good Times is perfectly, timlessly, the ultimate best mood song of all time. Album cover is 10/10 tho.

Feb 26 2026

2.75 - Liked, didn't love. I really appreciate their sound and think its very emblematic of the time it was made, would be super fun in a specific setting. Definitely giving more of Husker Du a listen now... Top songs: She Floated Away, Could you be the one?

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Feb 27 2026

2.5 - Not really my type of listen, but pretty interesting. Hits this electric blues and punk alt side of things pretty hard with a weird funky undertone. Definitely the most abrasive start to an album I have heard in a while. Top Songs: Wail // R.L. Got Soul // also kind of like the weird, disorienting outro, Sticky for some reason.

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 02 2026

4 - One of the greatest of all time and I do adore Jimi and love him as a person (from what I know) almost more than his music. Fav songs: Up From The Skies // Little Wing // Castles Made of Sand // One Rainy Wish

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 03 2026

4 - GOOOOOOODMORNING VIETNAM

Mar 04 2026

2 - Didn't really care for any of the songs other than the instrumental one, Space Child. Can absolutely respect the theatrics of their sound though

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Mar 05 2026

3.25 - 1967 may have been the best year for rock of all time, jussayin'. Fun and psychedelic and iconic harmonies in feeling and grit. Fav songs: 8:05 / Bitter Wind

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 06 2026

4 - another Jimi so quick??? Oh Darn (sarcasm)... Fav songs: May This Be Love // Hey Joe // Third Stone From The Sun

Parachutes by Coldplay
Mar 09 2026

3.75 - Grading this album was difficult. Coldplay holds such a huge space in the mainstream rock space, and I have always wondered how that is when I've always viewed them as some version of plain or as just being adequate, safe, and agreeable. That being said, it is a pretty unremarkable album BUT there are a few songs that are so timelessly iconic (at least in my upbringing) that they hold much more weight than what I'd give them on just a first listen. Fav Songs: Sparks // Yellow // Parachutes

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Mar 10 2026

4 - wow why do I love bruce springsteen so much? Never realized how much I did. Give him a guitar and a harmonica more often. Fav songs: Nebraska // Mansion on the Hill // Highway Patrolman // State Trooper // Used Cars // Reason to Believe

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
Mar 11 2026

3.5 - Enjoyed a few of these songs thoroughly. Loved the grit, the blues, the boogie. Absolutely obsessed with the feeling and spirit of some of these songs. Fav songs: I'm In The Mood // Sally Mae // Rockin' Chair // No Substitute

American Beauty by Grateful Dead
Mar 12 2026

3 - I hate to say it, but I've never gotten as into the Grateful Dead as I wish. This albums still really really good, Friend of the Devil is one of the greatest of all time.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Mar 13 2026

4 - WHAT A RIDE - I love everything about this album. Although the songs may not individually be single hits, the fluidity of the way it runs through is so much fun to enjoy. Marvin belting out "SAVE THE BABIES" over and over is so funny. Top songs: What's Going On / Save the Children / Right On

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Mar 16 2026

3 - For whatever reason, I constantly mix up the Isly Brothers and the Doobie Brothers, so when "Listen to the Music" came on I was absolutely baffled. Fav Songs: That Lady Pts. 1&2 // Sunshine (Go Away Today)

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Mar 17 2026

4 - Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker, Ramble On .... Like cmon???

Mar 20 2026

4.25 - Listened on repeat 2x though at home, but never got to pay attention to which songs. Obsessed with Bill though

Disintegration by The Cure
Mar 23 2026

4.5 - OG GOTH. I was in Mexico city with a close friend and we were walking and head Lovesong playing from some rooftop and the most beautifully accurate voice to Robert Smith to the point where we thought it was him and we seeked out the noise and found the building and went and paid a cover charge and then it turns out it was a REALLY GOOD Mexican cover band, but it did solidify this album's place in my heart forever <3 Fav Songs: Plainsong // Pictures of You // Lovesong // Lullaby // Disintegration

On The Beach by Neil Young
Mar 24 2026

5 - One of my all time favs, Neil Young is actually the blueprint. Vampire Blues???? Are you kidding??? Fav songs: Walk On // Vampire blues // On the Beach // Motion Pictures

The Visitors by ABBA
Mar 26 2026

3.5 - My ex didn't like Abba so I never really gave them a real shot past Mamma Mia stuff. Some absolute hits though but definitely a few I dont care for much

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Mar 27 2026

3.75 - Janis is absolutely an icon, no notes just singing your whole soul out Fav songs: Move Over // Cry Baby // Me&Bobby McGee // Mercedes Benz // Get it while you can

Dummy by Portishead
Mar 30 2026

4.5 - Portishead has been a longtime fav, they embody a style of music that feels like it should be the backdrop for who I want to be. I've been obsessed with this album for a while. only not a 5/5 cause there are a couple songs I'm shmedium on. Fav Songs: Sour Times // Strangers // Glory Box

Mar 31 2026

2.5 - Okay so I would pretty much never listen to this unless it was to fit a specific, almost cliche mood (think day drinking or keeping something upbeat and in the sunshine). But I can definitely respect this album. So solid middle of the road 5/10. Fav Songs: If I should fall from grace with god // Medley: The Recruiting Sergeant...

Aja by Steely Dan
Apr 01 2026

3.75 - Funny enough, I got sent a video yesterday that was a piano cord lesson and the last cord was the first cord in the song 'Peg' and it said "YOU JUST GOT PEGGED" And that happened to be today, when I listened to this album. Not my fav steely Dan but absolutely some hits. Fav Songs: Deacon Blues // Peg

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Apr 02 2026

4.5 - WOW this alum really surprised me. I have heard of this group but never listened to them, although one song I know I had heard before. What a ride. Beautiful soundscapes and interesting and compelling crescendos. Probably my favorite new album so far here... Fav Songs: Staralfur // Ny batteri

Apr 03 2026

4 - Another album that deeply surprised me. After reading about it too and the time it came out and the fact that the group is mostly anonymous but making these interesting and complex afrobeat/disco/r&b made me respect and admire this album so so much. Fav songs: Hard Life // Don't Shoot Guns Down // Wildfires // Bow // Monsters

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Apr 06 2026

4 - a timeless classic. This album has come up for me in so many different times and I only give a 4/10 since half of it i could skip because they're almost interludes. It does flow quite magnificently though. Fav Songs: John Wayne Gacy Jr. // Jacksonville // Chicago // Casimir Pulaski Day //

Fragile by Yes
Apr 07 2026

2 - So Shmedium I really was underinspired Fav Songs: Mood for a Day // We Have Heaven

Dig Me Out by Sleater-Kinney
Apr 08 2026

3.75 - Can't get Portlandia out of my head which is so wrong of me but here it is. Such a fun album though wow Fav Songs: Dig Me Out // Words & Guitar // Dance Song '97

Apr 09 2026

2.75 - Highschool me would've LOVED this. Me now can understand the fun but it's not something I'd pick to listen to. Fav Songs: Starlight // Supermassive Black Hole // Knights of Cydonia (FOREVER SOOOOOO GOOD, form Guitar Hero)

Eternally Yours by The Saints
Apr 10 2026

Reminded me slightly of The Velvet Underground for one of the songs, then listened to the album in the background of my days 2x, but never deeply attached to it. Would give it another go forsure...

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Apr 13 2026

3 - super fun, so quintessentially what it is. Background music 2x through, so didn't find favs

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Apr 14 2026

2.25 - not sure why I just couldn't get into this album. There's obviously some HOT TRACKS here though, and I will acknowledge that there is a place and time for this album, I just couldnt seem to find myself in it today.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Apr 23 2026

5/5 10/10 100% no notes perfect. This has been and always will be one of those albums I can always come back to and listen to from start to finish and love every song. Cliche, I know, but it has the hype that it has for a reason. Best Songs: ALL OF THEM Fav songs this listen: Sierra Leon // Pilot Jones (ALWAYS) // Pink Matter // Pyramids

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Apr 24 2026

3 - Can't Nobody Love You goes soooooo hard. The rest of the album was enjoyable but nothing stood out to me!

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Apr 27 2026

4 - whatever this type of music is called I' a big fan. All I know is I love this goofy lil organ. It always reminds me of spongebob

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Apr 28 2026

4.25 - oh my sweet Fiona. I love her later albums a slight bit more, but anything she puts out is golden. Fav songs this time around: Pale September // Carrion // Criminal // Sullen Girl
