Decent high energy album. Very similar sounding throughout but was enjoyable to listen to. Don’t know if I would listen to regularly.
Great instrumentals paired with abysmal singing. I wish I could actually understand what Morrissey is saying without reading the lyrics because he has interesting things to say. The funk groove in Barbarism Begins at Home was the highlight of this album.
Some really great tracks on here which are then undercut by some out of place instrumentals. Lyrics weren’t anything to write home about but the music grooved. Got a chuckle from the dichotomy of the last two tracks. Looking forward to listening to some more.
Really trying to keep an open mind with this project. This wasn’t bad by any means but not something I would gravitate towards for casual listening. Decent production and a fun sound, just not for me.
I consider myself a “jazz” person but this album just felt a little boring. There’s no questioning the musicianship of everyone playing, everything was cohesive but it didn’t feel very moving. Of course, I’m more influenced by the big band era so I can understand my lack of interest while listening. I think this will be one I have to return to with a more mature ear and a better mood. Happy listening!
Fun cheeky little album. Ended up listening to Cosmic Thing as well today, definitely more my style! The B-52s have such a silly approach to music, you have to laugh at how much they use 4 note chromatic lines through out the album, but it works! I see more B-52s in my future.
I think this album hit me at the wrong time. I really can see the appeal of Bruce Springsteen but this album just didn’t sell him for me.
Fun listen, reminds me of a video game sound track. Vocal weren’t anything exciting but the tracks grooved so it was nice background music to just zone out too while driving. Would listen to again.
This was a fun album to have on during my drive today. Very easy listening that you can just chill out too. Vocals weren’t too exciting, I think it could’ve used more to tell a story but to each their own. Very reminiscent of the Lo-fi sound we’ve been seeing grow the past few years.
Really fun album to listen to. I wouldn’t say punk is my thing but I definitely enjoy it more than I thought I would. Album keeps the energy up throughout and really easy to throw on if this is the vibe you’re looking for that day. I see myself coming back to this and checking out more of the Offspring.
I went in with an open mind and wow. The vibes were right, the singing was not. This album would gain an extra 2 stars if it was just instrumentals instead of his out of tune singing. Maybe I’ll come back to this, will have to see how his other work is. Always baffles me how these people can get famous on such mediocre skill.
I was just thinking about what album will be my first 5. I love the moment when you know you’re in for a ride during the first track or two, I knew this was going to be a fantastic listen by I Talk To The Wind. I really went into this with low expectations; haven’t been feeling great about my recent albums and told myself if I don’t like the first few tracks I’ll stop listening, but wow! I had recognized the album cover but I couldn’t have told you the name or the artist. I’m glad I can finally say I’ve listened and appreciated this work of art, and it led me down a rabbit hole of other music the rest of the day. Maybe I just need more prog rock in my life? Definitely will be listening to this again and maybe some more King Crimson.
I didn’t realize I fucked with Snoop like that
3/5. Solid album, not necessarily my thing but I hear their influence on other modern bands.
It was fine, I barely remember it
