In theory I should love this. But Mr. Yusuf's voice doesn't do much for me. Espescially with that reverb effect. 🤮 these songs are floating right past me. a stranger on an innertube humming to themselves. do like "into white" and "father and son" wish there was more vocal harmonies

When I first saw the album I thought I was in for a cheesy easy listening. Very happy to be wrong. It is easy listening but only because the instrumentation, the voices, and lyrics all feel so seamless and whole. Love that it straddles the line of being overtly political without feeling preachy.

Lush production and clever lyricism. Kanye at his best. Drenched in misogyny. The most potent part of the album to me was the final Last Poets sample. A group that's still so insanely relevant to what this country is experiencing.

this is doing nothin for me ogre battle p fun 2nd half definitely better but they're still kinda sliding off me. it was fine

I dunno why but I strongly suspect neil young fans are total dorkwads. I liked it

based on the title and subject matter was expecting this to be odder and more aggressive. it's kind of stumbling around in the first few tracks occasionally bumping into something with energy but never grasping it. not hating it but it doesn't have the j u i c e

probably wont come back to this much. maybe discovering i'm not a huge punk fan. that being said, it's crunchy sludgy and fun! pretty astounding that it came out in '77.

i like frank's voice but don't find it all that emotionally affecting the accompanying band tho, is tops daddy-o

Started off strong but am finding it increasingly cheesy and overwrought. There's something about this production and instrumentation that ain't doing it for me. Coconut is painful. Why do I hate the way all these instruments sound? Appropriately named album.

this slaps Its so weird to rate these cus im only listening 1x before rendering judgment. Is this actually a 5 star? Who knows! But this is a lot of fun and I'll be relistening

voice fits so well. dont love all the tracks but some pleasant bangers throughout this guys voice reminds me of death cab man what's his voice

whimsy city. it's cute but also feels busy in a clumsy way at times prefer the 2nd half

Didn't listen for this project cus I already play it once every few months anyway. Great tunes excellent storytelling

this is my first time listening to a nirvana project in full. maybe its cus i'm so friggin sleepy but i am unimpressed. i hate this guitar tone, so thin and plinky. favorite song so far was a bowie cover. i dont get it

Love early Cohen. Never knew he had a synth era. At first the cheese was overwhelming but there are some solid tunes here. I'm Your Man and Take this Waltz rock. Jazz Police is deranged. It's not my favorite of his but I admire him taking a big artistic swing in changing his sound so drastically.

feels less like an album to listen to casually and more of something to you know experience and worship alongside. repetitive and trance like. probably not something i'll return to often but glad to have listened to it.

If I could listen to this on its own merit its an easy 5 stars. Sometimes Im able to enjoy art from monsters. Maybe its because his sanitized biopic just released. But this go around I actually couldnt get past the 3rd song cus I kept thinking that I'm just listening to a pedophile

beautiful singing damn some of this is so dark and violent

i don't hate the vocals but i like the instrumentals so much that i wish the vocals weren't there 3 songs left and i'm pretty ready for this to be over maybe if i was on a roadtrip and not stuck in the office this would be higher

All the songs are pretty similar sonically. But its a song I like.

30 seconds in and i don't know about this chief it's trying? to do interesting things which i appreciate in theory. but i'm mostly annoyed dnf with 2 tracks left to go. no thanks
