Running up that hill is a banger. Thanks Stranger Things. Was it this popular before the show? Waking the Witch is kinda psycho but I like it. Jigg of Life +2. It felt like I was listening to a play or production and I kinda came around on it. Enjoyed the listen even if I didn’t love all the songs
This shit rocks. Maps came out of no where when I was vibing with the punk and rocked me. Great jams
Some sexy sax but I kinda tuned out after a while and it turned into elevator music. I appreciate it, but not my jam
I don’t know if it’s because I’m pretty depressed right now or what, but this album hit me in the emotions. I did some research and it came out right after 9/11 and that made sense.
Very emotional lyrics. Lots of odd notes and off putting sounds. Maybe not something I’d listen to on repeat, but loved the first listen through experience.
4.5
I mean come on. Got some of the GOATs here that you can’t help belting out while sitting at your home office desk at 9am on a Thursday. Really enjoyed Territorial Pissing (hate the name though) and Lounge Act along with the obvious.
I think it would be really interesting to learn more about Kurt Cobain. Seems like a brilliant yet tortured artist. Have a feeling he would really hate being alive in today’s world.
Hated the skits. Not a huge rap fan, but there were some good songs I enjoyed.
2/5
Still better than Getz/Gilberto. At least you could understand them.
Enjoyed Take Me to the River and The Big Country, but the rest blended together and I thought the guys voice got a little annoying by the end 😂
Still an interesting vibe. Listened in my car so didn’t get the same experience as normal. Might need to come back to it.
Was wondering what I was getting myself into with the first couple songs. Thought Trent somehow snuck an album into the list. But then we had a major tonal change and enjoyed it way more. Kendrick Lamar and Wiz Khalifa came out of no where. Although I don’t think I’ll listen to any of these ever again, I was vibing. Could maybe see myself turning it on for background music while getting a little high and playing STS2.
Beat my meat. Go to sleep.
Multiple absolute bangers. Another GOAT. Kylee was helping an old man with dementia when we lived in Denver and he would tell her everyday about his greatest memory being when he went to a Hendrix concert. Can you imagine going to a Jimi Hendrix concert back in the day on psychedelics? I’d vibe so hard to The Wind Cries Mary on a couple shrooms
Listening to the album on YouTube really took away from the experience for some reason. I know I’m just being nitpick-y, but not being able to see song titles just made it all blend together. There were a couple spots I was jamming to, but largely forgettable
I was trying to listen to the first couple songs in the album while I was working and it was way too much for that. It turned me off so much that I had to just put this one down until the end of the day. When I came back, the first tracks still annoyed me, but the later half of the album got much more tolerable.
So I’m going to say not even a gentle derision, but no derision at all.
Paint it Black - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Literally all the other songs on this album - ⭐️⭐️ (at best)
How do you go from Paint it Black to a song called Stupid Girl? I enjoyed the guitar in Think and harmonica in High and Dry and that’s saving it from a single star rating
I was digging it. Would be some good camping or hiking in the woods vibes
I was not high enough for this one.
