Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jun 04 2026

Amazing musicianship and songwriting completely undermined by Anthony Keidis' ridiculousness.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Jun 05 2026

Probably Paul's best solo album, with some truly inspired moments, but it's a bit inconsistent, all things considered.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Jun 08 2026

Pleasant but ultimately not for me.

Rio by Duran Duran
Jun 09 2026

Amazing bass grooves, and the guitars sound like they're played through a rack system that costs more than my house. This is the quintessential new wave pop record from the 1980s.

90 by 808 State
Jun 12 2026

Electronic music without much humanity to it.

Aja by Steely Dan
Jun 16 2026

Meticulously recorded, performed, and produced, but the songs just don't do it for me. These guys seem like douchebags.

Boston by Boston
Jun 19 2026

Landmark 1970s rock classic! Amazing production, killer tunes, and Brad Delpe's extraordinary vocals.

Jun 23 2026

Dope rhymes but the backing tracks aren't anything special and the vocabulary is limited at best. Can be pretty funny at times, and these guys are authentic af.

Dummy by Portishead
Jun 26 2026

Original jazz-inflected trip-hop with some interesting sounds and samples and catchy grooves.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Jun 29 2026

Stone cold classic by the greatest guitarist who ever lived. I mean, come on.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Jul 06 2026

This is music for retarded adolescent boys.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jul 09 2026

Probably CCR's best overall record, although they were admittedly more of a singles band. This is loaded with great classic songs--just straightforward honest rock & roll.from one of the best bands to come from America.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Jul 10 2026
The Clash by The Clash
Jul 13 2026

Excellent first album by a pioneering punk band.

Jul 14 2026

Arguably one of the greatest rock albums of all time.Taken best as a whole rather than via individual tracks DSOTM is a profound meditation on existential angst and the trappings of modern life. It is one of the most influential records in rock history. David Gilmour's lead playing here is legendary.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Jul 20 2026

Arguably peak Dylan. Serious treatise on life and love and all the related confusion and tribulations.

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Jul 22 2026

An extraordinary record from a generational talent. His first post-Smiths solo record is a genuine classic, with strong songs all the way through. Arguably his best solo record, definitely in the top three. Sublimely poetic English pop music from the greatest lyricist of the past 50 years.

Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Jul 23 2026

Lol this is self-indulgent hippie nonsense.

Haunted Dancehall by The Sabres Of Paradise
Jul 24 2026

Interesting rhythms and drum loops, but jazz-inflected EDM is just not my jam.

Heroes by David Bowie
Jul 27 2026

When David Bowie hit the mark, he really nsils it, but I find his overall output so inconsistent. Heroes is no exception. The title track is genius, but the rest of the album is mediocre, in my opinion.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Jul 28 2026

The real deal, Dolly Parton is an essential part of American culture and history, and this record is pivotal.

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jul 29 2026

On the set, this tape is a straight-up smash. If you ain't banging this out da mothafuckin' trunk, you're a straight busta. Shit. Dre completely flipped the whole West Coast script. Everybody on da block is losing they shit. The bass on "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" slaps so hard it’s rattling the windows on my mama house, but it still smooth enough to dip down Crenshaw. Sheee-it. That G-Funk wave is whack. He took dem old-school funk samples like Parliament an' shit, and made it rugged for the yoofs. Snoop Dogg is the shit, for real. His flow is out-of-bounds dope, it feel like he just kicking it on the porch, yo. Damn.

Scum by Napalm Death
Jul 31 2026

An absolute classic metal album and the pioneering grindcore record. An incredible mix of hardcore punk rock and heavy metal that paved the way for other extreme metal.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Aug 03 2026

Lovely production and arrangements, but the songs aren't particularly special.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Aug 05 2026

This sounds like a record for middle-aged dads who still think they're cool.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Aug 06 2026

David Byrne is, in my opinion, pretty annoying and widely overrated. Rest of the band has some solid grooves though, but I still can't get past the annoying vocals and Byrne's off-putting personality.

Achtung Baby by U2
Aug 07 2026

This album is a masterpiece. Every song all the way through is fantastic and sonically innovative. Bono can be a bit of a dingus at times, but they really outdid themselves with Achtunh Baby. Absolutely fantastic record.

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Aug 12 2026

Pretty interesting songwriting and performances, but lacking the ferocity of her earlier records.

Heavy Weather by Weather Report
Aug 13 2026

I don't understand what makes this record special enough to be included on a list like this. It's pretty bland.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Aug 14 2026

This record is kind of bland considering the albums that were just around the corner.
