a lot of this album sounded the same to me. Kinda had some Smashing Pumpkin vibes or Cocteau Twins maybe (different voice of course). Is it bad? not at all but for me its not one I'd come back to much

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Sep 07 2026

Hard to forget this one, it was absolutely everywhere. Thriller completely redefined MTV, and honestly, the album still holds up incredibly well. I still love Eddie Van Halen’s surprise guitar solo on "Beat It," and I’d almost forgotten it featured that duet with Paul McCartney on "The Girl Is Mine". For me personally, the only real low points are "Baby Be Mine" and "The Lady in My Life." I wasn't the biggest MJ fan but always liked this one.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Sep 08 2026

I specifically remember buying this CD when it came out. I was not a big fan or Nirvana, always preferred Pearl Jam and Soundgarden from this era. There are a few songs I always skipped back then and that would not change today (Territorial Pissings for sure is a skip for me)

Blur by Blur
Sep 09 2026

Bought this CD because of the very popular Song 2 and never really was hooked by the album. It did really well but just didn't stick with me.

Sep 10 2026

Doo Wop (That Thing) was so overplayed when it came out I never really listened to anything else. Everything is Everything had a lot of mainstream radio play too. Its a long album, some songs much stronger than others. She does have a great voice and I like the flow of it all with the transitions in-between pulling it all together.

Tuesday's Gone, Gimme Three Steps, Simple Man, and of course Free Bird. Four out of eight tracks everyone knows and still appear in movies and tv all the time

Low by David Bowie
Sep 29 2026

Bowie for me can be hit or miss. I fully appreciate his music and his creativity but some of it just doesn't make me want to come back time and time again. This is an interesting album because I genuinely liked most of it. Its calming, mostly instrumental and in some ways, reminds me of some of Peter Gabriel's instrumental stuff. I'd listen to this again.

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Oct 01 2026

I couldn’t finish this one and skipped ahead in tracks. I guess alternative, industrial German music from the early 80’s isn’t for me

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Oct 02 2026

Wasn't ready for a six album box set so I skipped around. Many of these I know just because Gershwin has so many "standards". I do like this music and she was huge for the period. Will I put this on for a road trip? no. Dinner party? maybe. Giving it 4 stars for respect

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Oct 05 2026

I remember buying this on vinyl at a record store where I would get a job a year or so later. I'm pretty sure it wound up on my sisters wall when she was in high school :) Blister In The Sun now makes me thing of the movie Grosse Pointe Blank since it closed the film (not sure why its a strong memory) I like every track here with the exception of last one, Gimme The Car. Some stronger than others but overall a great record after so many years
