Not punk so much as art rock/heavier Bob Dylan. Highlights are Gloria and Free Money

Orange Crush is a banger but the rest of the album can't keep up at that level

This sounds like elevator music or a sitcom theme song. Some funky bass on Teen Town and Havona but otherwise the synths are not helping with the "easy listening" accusations.

Man's got a voice.

Newman's distinctive voice makes most of the songs sound like I Love LA/You've Got a Friend in Me but a) those are good songs and b) God's Song stands out as beautifully melancholy.

Vocal harmonies in Band on the Run are cool. McCartney's voice is grating on me and overall it feels overly twee. Think I might prefer listening to this on a different platform with better bass.
