1989 by Taylor Swift

This is if pandering were music; it's made to appeal to as many people as possible. It's horridly unoffensive to the point of being offensive; it's actually baffling. I've never been actually angry listening to something; this might be the first; it's just too shameless. Surely this is the lowest common denominator music of all time. People often liken Taylor to unseasoned chicken, but I would disagree; that would at least give you some nutritional value; this is more like eating styrofoam. Favs: all the songs sounded the same; couldn't differentiate any of them.

Rio by Duran Duran

In the most literal sense, it's mid... Catchy beats but nothing too interesting. Kinda hard to distinguish one song from the other. No songs I actively disliked. Leaning more towards liking it than not. Favs: Hungry Like the Wolf, New Religion, Save a Prayer.

Already listened to it... Easily one of my favorite albums of all time. Every single song fits perfectly in the album; I wouldn't change a single detail. Favs: Victoria, Some Mother's Son, Young and Innocent Days.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Sep 24 2026

Two songs in... bro these lyrics are so ahh. If I played guitar, I'd be Jimmy Page? The girlies I like are underage? Like what??? The beats are interesting for the first minute and a half, but that's all you get; there's hardly any variation or anything interesting added. I can't tell if they want to be rockers or gAnGsTaS... I wish they would choose. The hits on the album I've found are just when they actually try to do something interesting; all the other songs, they're just doing the bare minimum. Favs: Rhymin & Stealin, Fight For Your Right, Brass Monkey.

Funky Fresh BEATS... I like this one quite a bit; the only thing I can say is that "In Heaven" is ehhhh, but that's about it. Other than that, this album slaps. Favs: Right Here, Right Now, Rockafeller Skank,

Moving Pictures by Rush

Tom Tom Sawyer... This album has been on my radar for a while just never listened to it for some reason. I like this, but sadly, I already have my favorites in the prog rock genre, so I will always prefer to listen to those instead. Still, though, there are some tasty licks and interesting songwriting in here. This seems to lean more toward the classic sound of 80s rock rather than what you would usually hear from prog rock. Favs: Tom Sawyer, Limelight, Vital Signs

Imagine by John Lennon

John Beatle... This is nice. It didn't grab me, though. That's all I have to say. Favs: Imagine, Jealous Guy, Oh My Love

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Sep 30 2026

This album is just alright, to say the least. It has a cool atmosphere, but otherwise it didn't really evoke any strong emotions in me, aside from a strong sense of boredom. The only thing worse than a bad album is a boring one. Favs: The Suburbs,

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Oct 02 2026

Pretty inoffensive. The extreme repetition is fine because none of the songs drag on for too long. They probably have a good message somewhere in there, if only I could understand what the singer is saying. If you had told me in reality there were actually only two longer songs, I would've believed you. I can hardly tell one song from the other. Favs: Betray, Cashing In, No Reason

An enjoyable and interesting concept album. I don't have much else to say other than that it was a consistently pleasing listen. Favs: America, A Hazy Shade of Winter, Mrs. Robinson

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Oct 06 2026

I'm not sure what's up with albums like this. They have one standout song, and then the rest of the album sounds the same throughout. It seems like they wanted to do something interesting but then got scared and then made all the other songs sound the same. I'm rating this a 3, and most of that is from "Paint It, Black." Favs: Paint It, Black

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons

Not my thing, but I can still appreciate it.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield

Smooth, funky, and cool, all things I can get down with. It somewhat dips in the middle but then picks back up in the end. Favs: Think, Freddie's Dead, Superfly

The Cars by The Cars
Oct 12 2026

Already listened to it. This is definitely my favorite The Cars album by quite a large margin. Enjoyable all the way through; I like this one. Favs: Just What I Needed, My Best Friend's Girl, Your All I've Got Tonight

The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett
Oct 14 2026

I can't really put into words what I like about this album. All I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Favs: No Man's Land, Here I Go, Octopus
