Wuthering Heights by Charli xcx

Ok the Party Girl discovered Literature™️ and now we all have to Hear About It.

Another Green World by Brian Eno

Glad to finally listen to an Eno album. Good music for working and reminder to check out oblique strategies

Harvest by Neil Young
Oct 09 2026

Nice fall vibes, sad of course, a little melancholy but bright. Like a warm October afternoon with the light fading but winter is starting to remind you it's coming. I'd only heard the 2 famous songs on here, Heart of Gold (forgot how groovy this one is) and Needle and the Damage Done. Don't especially love his voice, a little to high and reedy. Also a Man Needs A Maid, really?? Stand out tracks: Out of the Weekend, Harvest, Alabama, Heart of Gold

Her voice! Skit at the beginning is compelling - school roll call with artist absent. Ex Factor, is it bad that I love it b/c of the sample in Drake's Nice for What? Doo Wop (That Thing) - soo 90s! Sucker for the claves in When It Hurts So Bad. Maybe I shouldn't be listening to these when I'm at work and the vibes are off. I should give this one another spin, feels like a bit of slower burn. Long tho. Thinking a solid 3.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Oct 12 2026

Groovy, really nice. Had a moment where I thought the Doobie Brothers and Seals & Crofts had ripped of Isley Brothers, but nope. The covers are nice but not great. Solid 3.

1999 by Prince

His wail on intl lover :0 The blips on Something in the Water (does not compute) :0 Accidentally had it on shuffle for the first few songs oops. This cover is wild :0 Is this my first 4?? Totally unrelated but if any Beatles albums come up on this I am at present feeling inclined to skip them... OK but like that one part on Let's Pretend We're Married... omg you know the one I'm talking about. Solid 3, verging on 4.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Oct 15 2026

I mean it's Bob Dylan!!... at his best?? Pacing is just about perfect. Lyrically a game changer. Indebted to the blues no doubt but that's nothing new. Instrumentation is somehow loose and tight at the same time. No skips. Absolutely Sweet Marie!

Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem

Not my jam, not my stuff, but I think I can appreciate it on a certain level... initial thought is to give this a 2 simply because I can't see myself returning to it... Say if an Aphex Twin album came up on here I'd probably give it a 2 as well, despite the project's undeniable impact and importance. This is all my personal taste, right? It all just kind of runs together and isn't easily differentiated.

Ok!! How has this not been on my radar... The Corner, so good. Testify, the layering! Thinking strong 3, maybe even 4. Could see this getting in to my rotation... Real People is real groovy, love the game show theme vibes in the sample

Another Green World by Brian Eno

Dare! by The Human League
Oct 19 2026

Liked this more than I thought I would! Good road trip music. Before I had only heard Don't You Want Me. Not bad at all.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Oct 20 2026

Ok, this is probably sacrilegious, but leaning a 2 on this... Just not big on Bowie. I mean I like it but it's making sense that I haven't really digested a full album of his before... His voice for me is best in small doses. Yeah just isn't doing it for me :/

Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris
Oct 21 2026

Ok already know this is going to be a solid 3/tight 4. Love her voice so much. TBH I had only listened to the title track, but opening track The Pearl is a banger.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Oct 22 2026

I mean, yeah. I think Smooth Criminal is one of his best tracks ever but doesn't quite hit the level of Thriller or Off the Wall. Still so good

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Oct 23 2026

TBH I've never listened to Elvis Costello. Already prepared not to like this... Yeah, not my jam. But the piano parts are nice on Oliver's Army. And is there a line, "We could be in Palestine"?? But admittedly I am hearing a lot of indie rock tendencies in here, so sure it is impactful. Especially on Goon Squad, I'm like damn ok Girls... Yeah so getting to the end of the album it's growing on me a bit, would almost give it a 3 but don't see myself returning to it and did not especially enjoy it except for bits and pieces.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Oct 24 2026

Good stuff, not super my jam tho.

Wuthering Heights by Charli xcx

Ok the Party Girl discovered Literature™️ and now we all have to Hear About It.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Oct 26 2026

Good stuff but a little corny (I know I know)

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Oct 27 2026

Good stuff, hate to admit I'd never listened to a full album of theirs. Can appreciate their contributions to prog rock and for sure, you don't get Midlake without Led Zeppelin, but the singer's voice isn't my cup of tea, ergo the 2.

NEU! 75 by Neu!

Good stuff, glad to finally check them out.

Oct 29 2026

Damn, good stuff. Dude’s got flow. Has 90s feel but not overly cheesy (I don’t think). Definitely see myself coming back to this regularly.
