Songs From The Big Chair
Tears For FearsThis is crazy 80s sound, like super cheesy I would never listen to this. Oh well. Sticking with it. Only on song 2. On the last song. This is really bad. Awful.

Oh fuck yeah my favorite Beatles album. 5 stars.
This'll be interesting. This is pretty boring. Trying to understand how it is on 1,001 albums to listen to before you die. The interludes are annoying. Some songs are better than others but overall nothing really to write home about.
This is very rock. Nothing I'd listen to today. Trying to listen to it in the context of coming out one year after Kurt died. Big Me bringing the nostalgia big time. :) Like I wonder if Nirvana fans were like "....wut...." the first time they listened to this. By Wattershed I was ready to stop listening to this album.
YESSSS I love this album. Excited to listen to it again. Pablo turned me onto this last year. They didn't sound anything like I always expected them to sound. Such a great opener with the choir. Reminds me of upbeat Oasis. This is so wonderfully dated. A perfect snapshot of the 90s. Love "Don't Fight It, Feel It."
This is not as heavy as I would have imagined. Production value seems light. More like hard rock than metal. Oh god the screaming. You know, this isn't *awful*. I could have seen my younger self listening to this maybe in my screamo days. This is kind of like classic rock screamo. I ended up liking this a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. Not what I thought they'd sound like. I'm really glad I listened to it.
Awww I haven't listened to this in a long time. This isn't my favorite album of theirs but I fucking love TVOTR. Surprised they didn't have Desperate Youths on this list instead actually. Man I used to love Stork & Owl.
Wow I've never see or heard of this woman ever. Let's go. So far she kind of reminds me of a female Van Morrison. I don't love her voice but I like the production value. Not really my thing. I feel like this should be played in This Is Us. 70s Rebecca and Jack would have been into her. Yeah this gets cheesier as it goes on. Reminds me of Harvey Bristol Blues Collection. Man I kinda cant wait for this album to be over. How did this make it on the list?!
Wow this'll be the first time I listen to a Dylan album all the way through. This is gonna be like listening to Bright Eyes in that there's not a lot going on with the music, its just all about the lyrics. Never really been my style. But the music is ok at least. Down the Highway is some super bluesy soulful shit. Not bad but overall just not my thing. I think I need to go through a singer/songwriter phase to get into this.
Oooooh fuck yeah this is gonna be good. I've heard songs from this but haven't done the whole thing all the way through. I liked it! I don't know if I'd listen to it a ton on its own really but I loved hearing the audience participation. Woulda been dope to be in that small club.
Listened a little bit in the car with Pablo but he said they have better albums and then we just put on LCD Soundsystem.
Not their best but really good album with my favorite Radiohead song on it, "Let Down."
Very interesting music. It simultaneously sounds vintage 80s and current. Singer sounds like Morrissey kinda. Pablo and I got through about three songs in the studio before he had to turn it off to work. He said they have better albums and was surprised this one was picked to be on the list.
This isn't something I'd care to listen to normally. Kinda punk rock. Really not feeling this album at all. It's boring. I cannot wait for this to be over. Oh my god there are 21 songs. At least they're short. THANK GOD IT'S OVER.
When will they shoot was a great first song. Loved the interlude of clips of white people talking about being scared of black people. So far I'm really digging the music on this one. It's fun to listen to. Lol he raps about having a laptop computer. The music in these songs is just super fun to listen to. This is a very creative album. Check Yo Self has such a dope sample of \"Shoop.\" Love this. Yeah overall this is one of my favorite listens so far. Gonna listen to his first solo album now.
Fuck yeah. Finally some jazz. Let's do this. I'm listening to it in the background while I'm working and so far halfway in it's not really grabbing me. I don't know if this is something I'd play a lot on my own tbh. Overall I don't think I'd listen to this again.
This is pretty decent, but very 80s-sounding. 80s with a little bit of the 70s grime left over. Interesting. I asked Pablo why all 80s albums sound so flat and tinny and he said everything sounded like that until hip hop came out and brought the bass. No bass until then. Makes so much sense. This is a decently boring album. I'd give it a 3 rn. This shit is boooooooring. Can't wait for it to be over. Pablo had me listen to their self-titled and it's INFINITELY better than this album. Why couldn't that be on the list?!
God first song in and I already know I'm not gonna like this. If I ignore his voice and squint really hard I can kind of see LCD being influenced by this sound.
Oh man I haven’t listened to these songs in sooooo long. Great stuff. Holds well.
Wow this is not what I thought Deep Purple would sound like. This is almost like hair metal classic glam rock. This is fuckin hilarious. Not bad the more I listen to it
This is great to listen to driving around in the car with my windows down. Not as great sitting at my computer trying to work lol.
First time listening to this entire album. I think I would have liked listening to this whole thing more back in like 2004 when I was really getting into indie music. It's nice but kinda boring. I used to love Like Dylan in the Movies tho! Yeah overall this shit is boring and I'm excited for it to be over.
This is crazy 80s sound, like super cheesy I would never listen to this. Oh well. Sticking with it. Only on song 2. On the last song. This is really bad. Awful.
I thought I wasn't gonna like this but you know what? First song is really pretty. I like her voice. I feel like Mandy Moore probably loves the hell out of this woman. But seriously I'm surprised I've never really listened to her. This is lovely. Makes me very calm. Sometimes she veers into sea shanty vibes lol. Bitch even sings in Spanish! This is dope. I'm gonna give it a 4/5 not cause it was one of my favorite albums but it's really good for the genre I think.
Oh man I don't think I'm an Elvis Costello fan but here we gooooo. Ugh this is just not good. I don't understand how he got so popular. I want to understand his context. Is he power pop? Pop rock? I cannot wait for this to be over.
Oooooh very curious to hear this one. I remember when this came out and seeing the album cover everywhere. This is nice background music. I like. I'l put it on at breezy backyard parties.
Oh interesting!! Love Jobim. Let's see how this works. I dunno, this is kinda boring. The music is pretty but his voice kinda ruins it, weirdly. I want to hear Jobim. It's not bad but I don't know if I'd ever need to listen to this again.
First song in and I'm really enjoying this sound so far. Kind of reminds me of an 80s Arcade Fire in a weird way. Yeah this is pretty lush for an 80s album. I think this is one of my favorite albums I've listened to on this list so far.
Oh fuck yeah my favorite Beatles album. 5 stars.
This'll be interesting. This is pretty boring. Trying to understand how it is on 1,001 albums to listen to before you die. The interludes are annoying. Some songs are better than others but overall nothing really to write home about.
Yeah I doubt I'll get through this whole thing either. Kinda boring punk rock.
Damn I need to listen to more ELO. This is like a softcore Beatles. This is good. Four stars.
NIIIIIIIIIIIICE.
Oh interesting. Let's dive in. This sounds super 90s even tho it was 1988. She sounds like she was in her own musical world compared to what was going on at the time lol. This is def some Lillith Fair shit. I'm already tired of her voice and I'm only on song 3. Ugh I really can't finish this. It's so boring.
Not really my thing but I'll stick with it. Kinda 60s early psychedelia. This would be in a low-budget Austin Powers maybe. Whoa I think their song was in Hairspray! "We Do Wie Du."
Oooh this should be good. Yep this was a solid 4. Nothing life changing but good all the way through.
Oh god. Ok let's see. Two songs in and this is not SO bad, but could do without the sax. Ok yeah this has a bit of a classic rock opera sound to it. I dunno. I'm very ready for this album to finish.
I like how this doesn’t sound dated.
Lol not sure how long I'll be able to stick with this. I made it through three songs.
This was all over the place. Some good stuff some not. Three stars.
This is some sexy dark minimal French shit. Some of it's a little too boring rock for me.
This is kinda like lite classic rock. Not really digging it.
this is pretty boring. reminds me of a less interesting U2. 3 stars.
Great for this style of music. 4 stars just cause it's not quite my thing.
You know? This is pretty good. I don't love it all but it has some good jams on it. Diggin Song with No Words. Overall four stars.
Fuck yeah. Five stars baby. I've never listened to this whole thing but it has some of my favorite songs on it.
Fuck yeah. Eh overall it was good but didn't blow me away. 4 stars instead of 5.
Man first song in and I don't know if I'll be able to finish this. So fuckin cheesy. This slide guitar is just killing me. I can't finish this. I'll give it 2 stars cause the production is good but god. Ok I'll give it three stars for You've Got a Friend. Actually fuck that it's a Carole King song. Back to 2 stars.
Four stars
Normally I'd turn this off immediately, but it's overpowering the noise from the construction trucks outside so I'll keep it. You know, this isn't awful. If I were better on my shit back in my emo/pop punk days I should have been listening to this. It's good for the style of music.
I dunno. I can appreciate what they are it's just not my thing. Don't know if I can get through all of this. Not a big fan. Three stars
I don't know if I'll be able to get through this lol.
Oooh this has sharp dressed man, dope. I mean it's good for what it is. I'll give it four stars.
Again this is pretty good for what it is. I haven't minded having it on while I'm working. Four stars.
I like that this is mainly instrumental. Songs feel like they go on forever tho. Very jammy. Some of it's almost jazzy. Four stars.
this is pretty boring so far. three songs in and I'm turning it off.
this is really not my thing. three songs in, gonna give it maybe one more song. 1 star so far. maybe 2 for production.
pretty damn punky. Abstract Pain sounds kinda familiar. Overall this sounds harder than Pixies.
Some of it is way too cheesy 80s but Cherry Pie is great. Groove. Gave it 4 stars just because I'm obsessed with Cherry Pie now.
This is great blues in a gorgeous live setting. I wish I could have been at this set. This is really really good. You can hear people screaming and getting down. 5 stars.
I feel like I need to be stoned to listen to this. It's not easy to have on as background music while I do other work.
