No Man Can Find the War-Dude's got a strong voice. I could describe it like he's singing in a tremolo? I got no other word for it. Its deep and sombre. including that end. Carnival-Well, it definitely has that carnival feel to it. The instrumental mix is so interesting. it kinda sounds like a carnival gone wrong at times and other times its just ambient carnival noise. one of the album genres in psychedelic rock so that tracks. Pleasant Street-super lowkey sombre but chill and nice. Hallucinations-liking the mix of guitar, ambient sounds and...bells and rattles and echo stuff? Some...bongos too. more psychedelic stuff i see. I like the genre...ambience i suppose? I Never Asked to be Your Mountain-Cool drums. and ambient...melody in the background. dunno what instrument that is. Once I Was-western? harmonica? melancholy. remember meeeee Knight Errant-soo short what. very...knightly? Goodbye and Hello-that two minute mark. unexpected but nice surpise. hes like, telling a whole ass story through a song, with key signature and tempo changes and eveything. neat. final act best act. Morning Glory-i don't know how to describe it but it sounds exactly like the title describes it. choir hymns singing the the back, soft front vocals, medium tempo...like a morning glory swaying in the wind. Not a bad sound. Folk Rock and Psychedelic rock is what the wiki page said, def felt that. Looks like they used a kalimba, congas, a vibraphone and various guitars and percussion. Guess i can put a name to some of the sounds I heard now. You WTF this guy died at 28? Damn. He died the fate of many muscians, thats sad, especially considering how much debt he was in too. And his son died at such a young age too, but by accident. Ran in the family it seems. Sadness. He did have a unique sound here.
Man I dont think I liked this one at all. This kinda hip hop not my thing. Funky for sure, just not my funk.
AH. The Lovefool song. I recognize that one. So that's what this band is known for huh. I like the vocalist. I like the album's chill vibe.
Rapid Fire-Drum riffs are cool. rock huh? dudes vocals not bad. that ending segment was nice, and the beginning was strong too. lyrics. uh? gotta look at em again. Metal Gods-I like the guitar riff rhythm. that hah. hah. hah tmp tmp mtp part though (my descriptions are shit but listening to the song yknow what i mean) interesting interlude. Breaking the Law-hah i like it for the title alone. i like its fast beat too YOU DONT KNOW WHAT ITS LIIIIIIKE damn he belt it tho. rocking that solo. Grinder-bam bam bam, da, da dadada is how i hear that beginning riff. nice. classsic wind up and down at the end there. United-oh hey i like the heavy feel on the intro here. i like the melody line of united-united-united we stand. its nice. gon keep on driving we never stop. hm wonder when these songs were written what hisotricallt speaking was going on. from the lyrics i feel like youd expect it to be more rock on heavy, nut nah the beat is pretty medium consistent. it suits it though. You Dont Have to Be Old to Be Wise-What a title. its not bad. i should probably relisten to figure out what theyre singing about though Living After Midnight-i like its main melody The Rage-Definitely feels like the main melody is like, heavier? with the chords its playing. song's bpm is steady slow kinda, guitar riff is neat. wah what a guitar solo at the end there Steeler-long ass guitar riff to start, not bad. Red, White and Blue-Nice slow start Lol lost it at the end there. Uh, nice rock album? Rock has never been my thing but I do like my guitar riffs.
Darkness Darkness-Already impressed by the fiddle (?) ish start. The lyrics are so...dark. heh. liking that riff with the main vocals. i really should learn proper music terms lmao. Smug-has a country like melody to it so far. Damn that was so short! On Sir Francis Drake-its an instrumental piece? sounds not bad. and whoops two songs went by without me noticing. Beautiful-chill feel good piece. Rain song- lmao relistening to the album. i like it better than yesterdays bc rock still doesnt jive with me much. this ones like a mix of different genres altogether, jazz, some rock, swing? country, idk. nice tunes regardless. very alternative i think? oh lmao wiki says its folk rock/country rock/psychidelica? sounds about right actually. not bad. maybe this rock i can jive with.
Dude this album fucks. what a cool sound. read up on the artist bio a little, Fela Kuti was a neat man. Wish he hadn't died so soon. Wiki says the genre is afrobeat, really digging it. The Black Man's Cry-man, what a song. the growl in that cry. damn. Ye Ye De Smell-The druuuumms. Whew. Egbe Mio-honestly super funky. i dig. That was real cool man. I knew nothing about afrobeat until today but i enjoyed it. for a live album it was pretty sweet.

I was wondering when good old MJ was gonna show up here. Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough-Oh, so thats what this song is called! I've heard it before, that familiar melody string, did not know it came from MJ tho. Rock With You-I liked the main tagline, (title of the song) Workin' Day and Night-Hyperactive kinda song. Snazzy jazzy is how I'd describe this. Get On the Floor-Funky Disco vibin. Got the foot tapping beat to it. Really feeling the disco funk genre this album's got. Off the Wall-Title track. I can definitely hear the mix of disco, funk, pop and touches of R&B in there. Cool disco? Head bopping type beat. She's Out of My Life-wait, apparently this is the actual title track. Huh. what a drastic departure from the disco pop funk tunes the past few songs have been. Feeling the Blues part of R&B real strong here. I liked it. It was different, melancholy but sweetish sad. Girlfriend-Lot more upbeat than the last one. More rhythm than blues now. It's the Falling in Love-Feeling the love (heh) for this one. It has like touches of all the genres in there with a light, poppy beat. Burn this Disco Out-I like that backing...bass? Funky fresh. Good shit. would listen to it again.
Hip Hop Today huh? Neat. Johnny is Dead-Snazzy. Hip hop is one of those genres that has the same beats to it executed really really well. The meoldies, if you can call them that, are short, repeat but hit just right to the beat with the right rap lyrics, this ones doin fine. Won't Trade-Damn. Good beats yo. If i knew how to hip hop dance id be busting a move out there. Gettin' Up-Yo, ,i am 3 tracks in and impressed at all the unique starts these tracks have. i appreciate that record scratch at the end. Official-Neat Loop leitmotif? I like the vibe You-I like the mellowness of the track We Fight/We Love-okay i didnt write anything till it was over but i enjoyed its beats and vibe. Manwomanbogie-jazzy dancy? liked it. Move-the beats be bumpin. the renaissance indeed. Dance on Glass-dance beat hip hop Life is Better-Its just the beats man. each song has its own repeating beat track that just works with the vibe and rhythm of the spoken word rap lyrics. its good shit is what im saying. In conclusion, Yeah HipHop pretty cool.
First forray into ska music. Interesting and not bad.
I know the blues is cool and the album was nice, but it kinda blurred into background music for me after a while.
Read up on the history of the album, will probably have to listen to it again, but for sure certain songs and lyrics in this album sure hit in a way. Uh, that last song though. Was never a fan of long af instrumentals to end off with, this ones just a shit ton of noise that vaguely sounds like music.
Well that was interesting. A very intimate picture of a man going though some shit, thats for sure. Some real standout lyrics on that one.
Man I dont think I liked this one at all. This kinda hip hop not my thing. Funky for sure, just not my funk.
British Pop is a thing, and yeah, a lot lighter than American pop I've heard in the past. Interesting that its also art rock.
not bad for rock, and it was a live album too.
AH. The Lovefool song. I recognize that one. So that's what this band is known for huh. I like the vocalist. I like the album's chill vibe.
Smoke on the Water has that one guitar motif i've heard around before. Nice to see it has a name now. Oh. the lyrics of lazy sure are something.
Black Magic Woman and Oye Como Va, the main draws that gave this album worldwide acclaim, are good. Liking this Latin Rock. nice stuff.
Uhhh...nothing really stuck with me for this one.
This album fucks. Idk how to describe the sounds but its such atmospheric stuff.
Oh its that one band i know for the song 'same as it ever was! (not actual title, just the lyrics i remember most)' good rock stuff.
OH MY GOD THAT FIRST SONG. I RECOGNIZE THAT MELODY! Another song title to put to a melody I've heard from my childhood. neat. (Time to Pretend) The melody from [Kids] too apparently. Reawakened latent memories in me.
I recognize the Baby I love Your Way song from the Jumanji movie with The Rock, (ha). Solid smooth rock album thus far. That being said....at some point rock starts to blur and sound all the same to me, lol sorry.
Bombastic Jazz, thats for sure.
