Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers

All time classic. Brought me back to my middle school days.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Oct 07 2021

Damn, what a rock-solid album. I really like his sound, very relaxed and comforting.

Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers
Oct 08 2021

feels like I should have heard this before

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Oct 11 2021

good but not so much my thing I think

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Oct 13 2021

This sounds way more modern than it is. Sufjan Stevens vibes.

Oct 14 2021

Good, weird to discover that queen had a sound besides epic rock opera - a few of the tracks were surprising

Oct 19 2021

What an out of the blue recommendation. It was ok I guess, relaxed, but nothing special. I imagine some of the significance has to do with the movie? The last song with the voiceover is pretty dope and has inspired me to give the book a read.

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Oct 20 2021

I dug this, would go back and listen. Good post-Nirvana grungy ish sound

Forever Changes by Love
Oct 21 2021

Very 60s psychedelic....nothing amazing but easy listening. A little twee at times which I don't like so much, but cool. Probably won't go back to this one which makes it a 2/5.

Kid A by Radiohead
Oct 26 2021

I really didn't want to like this as much as I do because I always thought of myself as someone who wasn't a Radiohead fan. But yea, it's pretty great.

Yeezus by Kanye West
Oct 27 2021

Really enjoyed it this time around. I feel like every time I listen to it it gets better.

Oct 28 2021

It's just nothing special. There seem to be a lot of these from the 60s/70s on this list where they kind of go in one ear and out the other with no impact.

Truth by Jeff Beck
Nov 01 2021

This album is blowing me away. The vocals are fantastic, I was expecting another boring 60's album that I've heard 1,000 times before but this is great - bluesy, rocky, excellent

The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett
Nov 03 2021

I would give this 1.5 stars if I could, but I'll round up. It's weird, but not actively offensive.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Nov 04 2021

I like the vocals for the most part and there's some catchy songs, but I don't think I'm really compelled by this. Also some of the stuff is a little too sophomoric for my taste.

Marquee Moon by Television
Nov 09 2021

The guitar riffs are pretty awesome, but the vocals are not my thing, too high-pitched and...not good. I am debating giving it a 3 just for the great guitar. Also: Everyone is calling this punk??!? Do I not know what punk is??

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Nov 10 2021

Pretty great, the title track is amazing, not sure I will really go back to it though, but will still give it a 4 because I'm not a perfect human being

Blood And Chocolate by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Nov 12 2021

I loved it, great background music

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nov 16 2021

All time classic. Brought me back to my middle school days.

Diamond Life by Sade
Nov 19 2021

This is the chillest thing I've ever heard. I would've HATED this 10 years ago. Also I guess this is the original smooth operator song.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Nov 23 2021

Mother's Little Helper - 5/5 Stupid Girl - 1/5 Very whiplash opening tracks But the rest of the album was too calm for me

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Dec 30 2021

So dope.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 05 2022
Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jan 06 2022

It's ok, nothing mind blowing
