The album was the bridge from hair metal to grunge for the mainstream.
Album kicks off with one of my favorite REM songs. I love how this album sounds both present in 1987 but also ahead of its time in a lot of ways. This is the album that followed up their previous masterpiece album Life's Rich Pageant and solidified them as not just a good little band from Georgia, but one of the best American rock bands to come out of the 80's.
My favorite Paul Simon album after Graceland.
The drumming on this album might be the best I've ever heard on any studio album. Tony Allen is a master behind the kit. It doesn't sound possible with only 2 arms!
This is amazing! I've heard Roxy Music before but never really put on the headphones and gave it a full listen until now and my god what took me so long! It's hard to understate just how far ahead of its time this album is. You can hear the influence this had on a lot of my favorite current artists (Tame Impala, Flaming Lips, etc.). Once this album was finished I started it again and that's usually how I know the album is a total banger! Absolutely incredible!
I was born in 1979 when this came out and never really got this album until I got way older. It was groundbreaking and I realized that some of my favorite artists today wouldn't be around if it wasn't for this album.
I love this band and love this album.
Not a huge Aerosmith fan but this was probably there best album since Toys in the Attic.
What can you say about this album other than it's one of the greatest soul\R&B albums of all-time!
One of my favorite hip-hop album of the 2010's.
