The OffspringBlegh. I don't really like the offspring. I think it's the guys voice. They're very close to things that I do like, but there's something I can't get on board with.

I've listened to this album before, I think when I was going through a 'I should listen to more Leonard Cohen' phase. The album is VERY 80s. But somehow manages to avoid being cheesy. Best song: Everybody knows
It's pink flyod at their pinkiest floydiest. Lots of interesting ideas and songs, but stretched out too far. Brilliant, but also over indulgent.
meh, It was ok, but not really my thing.
I love this album. I have loved this album for almost 20 years, so I can't have a objective opinion on this. Obviously 7 nation army has grown to cultural level, people know the song even if they don't know the song. But the rest of the album is also brilliant, stripped down rock and roll blues at their best.
Great riffs, but completely over the top and overblown. Fun silly classics
An interesting album I'd never heard before. Strong proto-punk elements, especially 7 and 7 is. Second half is a 40 minute jam session. Bit rambly, but interesting in places
Very jazzy. Has some interesting sections, but need to be in the right frame of mind to actually listen to. May need a couple more listens.
A couple of interesting songs, but mostly a bit meh. Probably for someone, but not for me.
I love this album. Wonderfully weird
Not as good as their debut, but I can appreciate the desire to expand their sound.
Blegh.
Music for people who don't really like music. There are some decent bits, but it all amounts to a more dull radiohead.
Really don't know how to rate this one. It's a Frank Sinatra album, it sounds like a Frank Sinatra album would. I think this might be the first time I've ever sat down to listen to a whole album by him, so that definitely has an impact on my score. It's good, obviously good, but not my thing. I can't imagine ever listening to it again. Probably doesn't help that my only other exposure to that kind of music is christmas songs, or possibly old film scores. So to me that's what it sounds like, and a 50 minute album of that is a bit much for me. But it is good music, his voice is beautiful, it's Sinatra. But it's not my music.
It's amazing how quickly they had their own sound (with the obvious beatles influence) You can hear where they're going, but they're not quite there yet. A few too many filler tracks brings the score down from perfect, but always worth a listen. Best songs: Live forever, rock 'n' roll star, cigarettes and alcohol.
This is the kind of music that bores me. No-one needs an 18 minute song. No-one has ever needed an 18 minute song. Though it's not even one consistent song, it's several mashed together. There's interesting bits, but overall it's so far up it's backside. I mean it's technically good, but it's not for me
Not the best AC/DC album, but it's AC/DC. A good album with some of their best songs on, particularly the title track. Well worth 4 stars.
Not a massive U2 fan, but this is a good album. Best songs: Still haven't found, streets have no name. with or without you. Slightly fades towards the end.
Had a read of other peoples reviews, and some people are apparently snooty about live albums, for reasons I can't understand. It's what the who sounded like in 1970. There's no other way of hearing what the who sounded like in 1970 without having this album. It has energy that can't exist in a studio album. Particularly the power of the drums seems to come across far better in this than the studio albums. As it is, it's a selection of excellent songs played well. I was going to take a point off because there was a bit too much of 'this is this song, which we wrote then and blah'- no-one cares. Not at the gig and not on the album. But given the above, nah.
There's no songs here, there's lots of ideas, a couple of cool riffs which could have been turned into actual proper decent songs, but as it is nah. Noodling at best, but turns into pretentious nonsense rather a lot. 2
This is so different to anything I would normally listen to. But it's a party. Such a fun album, will definitely listen again.
Early beatles, with lots of covers. It's still very mucha breakthrough album, you can kind of tell that they're still working out albums. Very poppy, with lots of covers. There's maybe only one essential beatles song (all my loving), but the rest are definitely worth listening to, especially because it's so short. Not their best album by a long way, but still good.
Not the best madness album, seems to lack some of their trademark energy. The two singles of this are 2 of their better songs however. Also definitely loses points for the brownface on the album cover. Blegh
Metallica with an orchestra. It's one of those crazy ideas that sort of works somehow. To me it sounded like music from video games, particularly final fantasy games. which I like, so it's a plus for me, though it's strange to not be stressfully fighting some monster at the same time. Some songs work better than others, and given that it's a 2hr+ album, I could have lived with having less. But enjoyable, especially if you're doing something that takes a while, but needs an epic soundtrack.
Classic rock at it classicist. Best song is the first one, which you definitely know, 'more than a feeling', which will be in my head all day after this. I don't think I recognised any of the other songs, but they all blended into a vibe of 'classic rock'. Good to listen to, not sure how often I'd listen again.
oh my. One of the best albums of all time, this is a 5 stars. I don't even need to listen to it again, but I will anyway. The side 2 medley is probably one of the best pieces of music of the 20th century. Every song is really good and worthwhile. I don't think you can mention a single song, because then you'd have to mention other songs. Even the silly beatles songs (Octopus's Garden and maxwell's silver hammer) are better than a lot of bands produce in their entire careers. Simply amazing songwriting and performing.
Oh to be 16 again. There's no way I can be impartial about this album because it was one of those that I listened to and loved as a teenager. And so every note has memories and emotions attached that have basically nothing to do with the album itself. And despite the 20 odd year gap, I still remember every note. Trying to be objective, I do really like this album. 4 kicks and The bucket are two standout songs, but there's not a bad song on the album. I know it's a bit rough, especially the vocals and there isn't perhaps a great variety in the music itself. But that's part of the charm, it's a good 00s indie rock album. It's probably a 3 star album, but I want to give it 5 stars for the memories. For 4 seems fair
Not very good. Very experimental boring music, with no real stand out songs. And the cover of motorhead is awful. I quite like some of their other stuff, but this isn't for me.
It's fairly inoffensive, if a bit bland a repetitive. Which is impressive for an album that lasts just over half an hour. The standout song is Detroit rock city, which is a really good song. Though this version has all sorts of nonsense at the start. I'd recommend skipping the album and just listen to the version that just starts with the song. The rest of sort of drags, going between meh background rock, to not very good rock. 2 stars.
