Myths Of The Near Future
KlaxonsThis is a crazy album in the best way. It’s nonstop energy.

Have never hard of this band or album didn’t know what to expect. Really like this album, cool baroque sound, pretty James Bond-ish, like Alex turners delivery not a bad song on this album
I’ve never heard of this album or Jane Weaver. After listening to it, I want to delve more into her discography. I like the electronic dreamy vibe. I like the guitar drum bass. Her voice is great. This album pleasantly surprised me.
Consistent blend of alt rock and pop as they blew up into the mainstream

This is an interesting one. This had a lot of low ratings. I don’t really get it, sure it’s dated but the hits are still huge today. It’s not a perfect album, but it does what it’s meant to pretty well: be a fun album. You could do a lot worse, especially in the genre of hair bands.
This album is an easy 5 for me. You can hear the influence on so many bands and artists. The band show their a great metal band yet also show their versatility, like on “planet caravan”. The whole band is great, but I think Bill Ward is the MVP on this album. Metal has changed in so many ways since this album, but there’s a reason it’s still regarded as one of the greats.
Great album all songs are good to great great sense of melody
I’ll be honest I’ve never been a country person. This album is good at keeping what makes genre recognizable but making it accessible to those, like me, who aren’t big into the genre.
I have never heard of this album or band. Unlike the Age of the Understatement by Last shadow puppets, this did not impress on the same level. First off I like the rhythm section. The drummer is really good with his world music polyrhythmic style. His song is easily my favorite. On to the lead singer, Edwyn Collins. If that name sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because he had a hit songs in the 90s called “A girl like you”. I just can’t get into his voice on this album. His voice just doesn’t gel with the music. This is the first album so far that leaves me pretty underwhelmed.
After the first two tracks I’m thinking This is an easy 5 star album, but then there’s too many slow songs in a row. It’s like yesterdays album except the music on this one isn’t that interesting. Maybe I need to have it sit with me but on first impressions I’m not jelling with it.
This is one of those albums with a big reputation. It can be easy to get lost in the amount of praise this album gets. I’ve actually never listened to the whole album before this. I just listened to this album as an album. Even if this album wasn’t as influential and impactful as it was, it’s a great album. This is a great middle ground between the guitar based music and the more electronic based sound. I don’t know how many people think of this album as a concept album, but it’s an interesting almost prophecy of what life would be like in the future. This is an important album paving the sound of the 21st century, when many bands tried to recreate this album. This is a one of a kind album that greatly deserves its praise.
Never heard of this album, it’s ok. Harmonies are fine, just not a lot to grasp on to.
I know this album is divisive among metal heads. A bunch of people saying Metallica sold out, I always like when artists try out new sounds whether or not they work out. Most of the songs are solid, except “nothing else matters”. This song prevents this from being a 5 star album. To me, Metallica and specifically James Hetfield just don’t make a straight up ballad work. Having said that, this is a solid album and a good gateway to metal and going from there.
This is an easy 5 star album. Every song is great, but that’s half the story. There’s also the multiple storylines of the band members colliding on this album. At a time where the band were the most dysfunctional, ost would have broken up by then. Instead they made one of the greatest albums of all time.

This albums great, it’s in the Mount Rushmore of live albums. Every song is great.
This album is well played, but it’s just not for me.
Thought it was good. They did a good job on the Dylan covers. Like the jangly guitars.
This album has an interesting place in history. It’s one of if not the first concept albums. It sounds like all the sounds of the decade together.
This album is an incredibly influential one. The aggression and energy in most of the songs would influence punk in the next few years. The bands look would be a major influence on hair bands. Every song is great and still hold up. The album is very striking it really gets your attention. It makes you think what the band will sound like. I’m sure people then were surprised looking at guys who dressed that way, then listened to the album and heard the deep voice of David Johanssen.
Great catchy album blend of showmanship and technicality
This is quite a fun album. The melodys and features are infectious.
I’m not into this
The only lemonheads songs I knew were their covers of “Mrs Robinson” and “Skulls”. Simon and Garfunkel to The Misfits, that’s eclectic. I was curious what this album would be like. I really like this album a lot, there’s great melody and hooks for days. I love Juliana Hadfields harmonies. It’s interesting this album dropped in the height of grunge, it doesn’t really sound grunge at all. Maybe that’s why it didn’t get more attention. To me this is more in the vein of “college rock” like R.E.M., Replacements or Husker Du. In fact, Evan Dando’s vocals and songwriting reminds me of Paul Westerberg a bit.
I tried giving this album a chance. I wasn’t impressed by it. Then I got to “All in the Family”. This song turned an otherwise 3 star album into a 0 star album if I could give that.
This album is very interesting. It came out as the Beatles were breaking or already broken up. This to me is an incredible revenge record. Even though it’s very spiritual, it is George showing John and Paul that they should have paid more attention to him. He assembled quite the supergroup. But none of that would matter if the songs weren’t there and they were. This album is a roller coaster. There’s a great mix of very spiritual songs and rockers. The last half of the jams is just fun.
