Interesting to look back at the building blocks for the genres today. Not my thing but I get the vibe. I actually didn’t mind Method Man. It was when Ol’ Dirty Bastard would start going was the funniest shit
Classics. The change in pace the use of story. Queen is such a unique sound from such a unique era of blooming genres and to recognize which pieces fit where in today is incredible
The shredding and vocals are very “of its time.” I loved looking at it through the lens of where the sound started and where it’s made it’s mark today. Not my genre but it’s classic
You can hear the electronic/indie sound that comes from like, Depeche Mode turning into Owl City. As the album plays you can hear the gradient between genres and be able to pinpoint exactly where bits and pieces branch into modern indie electronic. Almost ahead of it’s time. However it was annoying to listen to. I get artsy but I am not a fan of this kind of stuff. There was an 8 minute long song of just noise..
We all keep kind of changing our metrics. If I like the album enough I’ll go by each song with a rating and blurb. If I don’t like it I will probably format it with nonsense. Anyway, my inner redneck rocker dad/uncle enjoyed it. My true soul was trapped in a “Trucker-Diner Stereotype from a Movie” Hell.
Oh my god. I cannot describe the amount of frustration I feel. To have that be the first thing I’m met with when going to listen to something. I am so uninterested in what happens moving forward. I looked at how long it takes to listen to this album. 1 hour and 19 minutes. 1 hour and 19 minutes. I’m all for nonsense music and punk scenes. But an hour and 19 minutes? I’m two seconds in. Of 1 hour and 19 minutes. Every time I thought “oh this isn’t too bad” I got killed.
The Age of the Understatement - 5/5 it's gay cowboys Standing Next to Me - 5/5 Tulio and Miguel are the gay cowboys. this sounds like Elton John "The Trail We Blaze" mixed with "Friends Never Say Goodbye" Calm Like You - 4/5 the gay cowboys are in the cali desert Separate And Ever Deadly - 3/5 the gay cowboys are very british. the poor gay cowboys are dealing with one of their exes :( The Chamber - 4/5 (me on the piano with my face) the gay cowboys are goth now with their beach goth vibe. gay beach graveyard. feelings become overwhelming. the gay cowboy fades. (me driving a airplane) Only The Truth - 3/5 who is she, gay cowboy? separation. manipulation. will the gay cowboy be able to escape? it's overwhelming. there is too much at stake. My Mistakes Were Made For Me - 2/5 we meet our evil seductress James Bond villain. the gay cowboys must escape. it is dangerous here. Black Plant - 5/5 the gay cowboys reunite. they are embracing knowing they can face the hardships together. it is not the gay cowboy's fault this is how fate happens. they are together again. I Don't Like You Anymore - 4/5 the gay cowboy has to confront the evil seductress. the gay cowboys get a second chance, they face the seductress together. it gets too dangerous. they must escape! In My Room - 5/5 the gay cowboys nearly get out with their lives. the loss is great, spirits are low. but they are together. the gay cowboys build themselves up. they are strong enough. they must move on. The Meeting Place - 4/5 the evil seductress James Bond villain is no longer a pressure on the gay cowboys. they are able to be themselves. had the gay cowboy been able to be open with himself from the start, this would not have happened. forgiveness. Time Has Come Again - 5/5 the gay cowboys have lived a long life. they are happy. the seductress has learned acceptance. she moves on. the gay cowboys embrace at the pearly gates. they move on. They Are Happy. 4/5 Not my kind of music but I did enjoy making up my own story to it.
I love this album. It is a rock opera so I get not liking every single song. The few that are bangers, everybody knows. I had a whole phase where this is what I would listen to while driving around. 5/5 classic for the ages. Tragic story.
Thunder Road - a prom song from a lighthearted coming-of-age movie that doubles as a tween romcom. This is how you imagined high school when you were 11. (3/5) Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out - love me the same note being thwacked. we got trolololol'd part way through. exciting! god that bitch be fartin on that sax. (3/5 jazzy) Night - OH SHIT. the opening to my favorite family sitcom! (2/5) Backstreets - (pre-listen: this better be a good 6 minutes)(here it comes) make out with that pearl jam mic Mr. Springsteen. uh uh awh. hiding on the backstreets. hiding on the backstreets. hiding on the backstreets. hiding on the backstreets. hiding on the backstreets. hiding on the backstreets. hiding on the backstreets. YEAH. aaawh. awhh. uhhhh. uhhhhn. (ya know? 2/5) Born to Run - just hanging out with the boys :) (3/5) She's the One - same beat as "Jack and Diane" at one point. it's all i could hear. (2/5) Meeting Across the River - this guy is so obsessed with Eddie. going for a walk. (3/5 jazzy) Jungleland - damn a 9 minute outro. peaceful but sad. (3/5) I didn't really go into the lyrics much, but I heard the story throughout. Easy to listen through in the background as well. Overall, I have to say 3/5 cause it's not really my thing. BUT! Because it was easy to just breeze through this without getting bored, that's what gives it the pass.
Striving for Perfection - intro stuff. just a talking skit. (1/5) Knuckleheadz- I liked the beat. Not quiet there yet with the album. Slow start. (2/5) Knowledge God - this is the kind of thing I expected. Good flow and beat. (4/5) Criminology - fun jazzy rnb beat. Easy going (4/5) Incarcerated Scarfaces - lots of sample clips at the beginning. The solo songs are the best so far?? (5/5) Rainy Dayz - this song fucks? The beat is so slick. (5/5) Guillotine - why didn’t the album start like this. I love this sound. Hello again Wu-Tang. (5/5) Can It All Be So Simple - pow pow. Smooth. Like night ride kind of smooth. (5/5) Biters - skit (1/5) Ice Waters - good back beat. Got whiplash from the lyrics (2/5) Glaciers of Ice - the synth in the background is giving graveyard video game for game boy. I really like the ones that just go. Like running. It’s passionate. (3/5) Verbal Intercourse - damn. The lyrics again. It’s dated for sure. (3/5) Wisdom Body - no diggity if it was a secret. Real slow. 👀 (3/5 SEX?) Spot Rusherz - (: . I call these beats: backward beats. They’re strange and hiccup-y. Brings a fun discomfort. Ice Cream - (see above) this song does this as well. It might be because it sounds like it’s in a minor key. It sounds like a Halloween song. “They want their titties sucked. Ice cream.” (4/5 boobs) Wu-Gambinos - the movie clip! Holy shit. Do that in one breath challenge. (3/5) Heaven & Hell - we’re living in hell shrug (4/5 back vocals is going nuts) North Dice - this is a dream sequence. Talking to god (3/5 ur just high and ur babysitter is talking to you ) Less gay slurs and it’d be more than a 3/5 it was just too jarring.
Where Do The Children Play? - I Don't Know Stop Asking. Anyway. Omg and I said "HEYEYEYEYEYEY What's going on?!" This is the goat in Hoodwinked that can only sing. wait. is this a sad song. (3/5) Hard Headed Woman - yes we love women (5/5 women) Wild World - i feel like i've heard this before. (1/5 because I got so fucking side tracked I had to stop everything) Sad Lisa - this song is a jojo reference. lisa lisa. someone tell little caesar's about this song. (2/5) Miles from Nowhere - PIANO (4/5) But I Might Die Tonight - this is the part of the musical movie that you are watching where they all do drugs and have collective fun high and float around and stuff. (4/5 that was fun) Longer Boats - longer boats are coming to wheat us. I also want no god on my lawn. What is this hippy shit >:^[o> (<- that's me shouting.) damn that mother fucker hit that bass LOW. (5/5 what am I listening to)(this is what church music sounds like) Into White - this isn't my beautiful house. this isn't my beautiful wife. a spider doing what where?? (2/5 keep your spiders away from me. freak) On The Road To Find Out - I mean this as a compliment, i really feel like this is something i would have listened to with my great grandfather. (4/5 nostalgia) Father And Son - i knew there was something us with this album and artist. this is some hippy stuff. this guy is a humanitarian. this is a song about not being able to come out to your dad (I'm making shit up but I'd believe it)(2/5 i also have father issues) Tea For The Tillerman - It's the last song get out. that was so fast holy shit. it's giving Randy Newman. anyway (1/5 drive-by) Okay, up until now I have given each album I have not been a big fan of a 3/5 if it meets certain unknown personal criteria. This album is no where close to the kind of music I would sit and listen to actively; because of the nostalgia this brings to a corner of my brain I don't think actually exists. A 4/5 for gaslighting me into feeling nostalgia for something that never happened.
Station to Station - the Bowie sound. Can’t go wrong. The psychedelic rock sound is fun. (3/5 I can excuse long songs. I’m a progrock enjoyer) Golden Years - the blickablaows on the guitar are my favorite. Funk. What are these fucking notes he’s hitting. (3/5) Word on a Wing - it’s definitely a ballad type. I kept jumping ahead and really thought he might say sweet Caroline.(2/5) TVC15 - if they let Bowie make commercials with no limits. The TVC15 is a couch. (4/5 I’d buy it I guess. For a 5 minute song) Stay - funk bass. We love disco funk (4/5) Wild is the Wind - okay so this is “As The World Falls Down” low key right? https://youtu.be/PMZxehxMvHU?si=PwyuRE8Fs8y1mY-e I think I’m funny. (4/5) I like this prog/psych early rock song. Very fun to sit and listen to. Not blown away and I kind of know what to expect from Bowie (that is not a bad thing). So overall, 3.5/5
Be - This goes. So fucking Smooth. I saw in the bio that Common is an activist and so far, it shows in the lyrics. (5/5 Jazzy) The Corner - It's giving spoken word poetry. A lot of the lyrics so far have been very left-wing and focused on the messaging and I love it. (4/5 I'm not the biggest fan of spoken word type stuff in music) GO! - (is this sampling John Mayer saying "go"?) Sex and escapism. the two genders. ( LOOKED IT UP AND I WAS FUCKING RIGHT BUT MR. [kan]YE WEST WAS ON THIS TOO???) (3/5 -2 for John Mayer and artist formerly known as a person who hates jews. but it is 2023 the year of our lord and savior himself, ʇsᴉɹɥƆ snsǝſ) Faithful - that fucking little speak-box make voice go [brlahbow]. This is giving Saba (my favorite album is CARE FOR ME) (5/5) Testify - The back vocals sound so awesome with the beat. oh no this is actually really sad. (5/5 emotional journey) Love is... - This is the version that Black Eyed Peas wanted to do but failed. more happy than the last one (5/5) Chi-City - yeah fuck cops (5/5) The Food - Dave Chappelle? (4/5 censoring is weird but I get it I guess) Real People - like Faithful, this feels like the message is being pushed. Urgency/Importance. But the jazzy background feels so contradictory (5/5 I love juxtaposition) They Say - the do do dos in the back with plinky piano. Rap rap. John Legend??? end it there (5/5 Arthur meme) [i didn't actually stop listening to it but yes 2005 Kanye West hit those notes] It's Your World - "Let's Stay Together - Al Green"? "She know dairy so she say cheese to get bread" what a fun line. God I hate when artists add like a bit where kids talk or whatever, this breaks my fucking heart. This song hurts. (5/5 this is why representation matters) 5/5 this was art. the album sprinkled in pain, humor, and love and then rips your heart out for 8 minutes. So this actually caused me to go down a little bit of a rabbit hole. So I don't know much about music in general but I like to talk about it just based on what I know using only previous experience. Realistic. Okay, hip hop is not necessarily the origin of this kind of sound- but it technically is a branch of hip hop. This album mixes inspiration of soul and jazz using hip hop as a base to express the message. And it honestly, I think does go a little underappreciated. I was reading and apparently the lyrics tend to be an afterthought for modern stuff because standards have changed. Okay, the more I read and look into it this shit is insane. anyway have sources https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hip_hop_music https://www.complex.com/music/a/pnl/black-thought-on-mubmle-rap-i-essentially-invented-it (This article is neat)
The Shining Hour - this is what i imagined indie to sound like. this artist looks like it’s on a lot of tv shows. breaks your piano. (1/5 fuck your piano) Jupiter And Teardrop - hmmmmmmtwinkpearljam. oh i heard the title. lowkey bored. (2/5 background music) Fuzzy - i kinda feel like i’m listening to another universe’s version of Cage the Elephant. it’s interesting enough. i do hear phussy (phone pussy) though which was funny the first few times. (4/5 phussy) Wish You Well - Actually honestly, this kind of bright guitar sound with a soft drum and harsh tambourine sounds nice. it unfortunately reminds me of christian rock like scarecrow and tinman. but i feel like this is a staple of the 90s/early 00s rock and Butt Rock. (5/5 butt rock) The Hook - Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down?? (see? early 00s rock) i feel like i hear a Bowie twang. (3/5 Hemorrhage by Fuel?) Soft Wolf Tread - The hard rock version of Float On by Modest Mouse! (4/5 finding all the little songs ion between is fun) Stars N’ Stripes - lalalalililalala or whatever (3/5 handy cane? a weird candy cane?) Dixie Drug Store - what (4/5 the title and tone are. so.) American Snoring - fuck using slave labor to produce our everyday goods! (5/5 heavy) Grace - this one is more Stone Temple Pilots-ish. oh and the song (5/5 that’s what she said)(also want to listen to Nevermind by Nirvana) You Just Have To Be Crazy - i dunno. this kinda sucked to end on :/ (2/5) 3/5 overall. a fun listen but not super stand out. very different from yesterday but. no hype.
San Fransisco Baby Blues - Real country music? yes go off king. (4/5) Ol’ Riley - POV: ur in jail and someone’s got a “gee-tar.” (4/5 emotional) The Boll Weevil - 1950s educational radio show for the kids working at the factory or something. (3/5) Bed Bug Blues - why all the bugs Mr Ramblin. as big as a jackass??? (5/5 you’re telling a big jacked this ass? Sandy wants to go home) New York Town - “I am a man of constant sorrows” (3/5 skits) Grey Goose - yikes. (1/5 i can’t) Mule Skinner Blues - damn i didn’t expect yodeling. alright. that note (4/5 respect the skill) Cocaine - A song about the og coca-cola? hm. (2/5 guitar was fun) Donks Song - I love jazz. (5/5 the singing is beautiful) Uhm. i don’t know Salty Dog - alabam. (2/5) i don’t know about this one. it started almost strong and then it fell flat. all i can hear is joe biden. i’m sorry. 2/5 country/blues is not for me at all.
Airbag - i can’t believe it’s this album. it’s definitely Radiohead. (3/5) Paranoid Android - i hate that i like this kind of music. this era and genre of rock are honestly iconic. i actually really appreciate Radiohead’s melodicness at times. (5/5 yeah it’s 6 minutes. and?) Subterranean Homesick Alien - the prog rock/psychedelic is so fun. i truly don’t get the hate for long fleshed out songs. (5/5 i was a subterranean homesick alien the whole time) Exit Music (For a Film) - (5/5) Let Down - definitely sounds like a 180. i’m so honed in on that tambourine. (3/5 middle of the road but not bad) Karma Police - i dunno. pretty alright. i feel like each instrument blends into the other one and it comes together into one sound. it all sounds good together but nothing stands out too much. (3/5) Fitter Happier - Microsoft Sam. skit! (2/5) Electioneering - oh hey it’s politics (4/5 and rockabilly) Climbing Up the Walls - i like the downward spiral this song feels like (4/5) No Surprises - :( (5/5) Lucky - guitar solo to go out on (4/5 Radiohead is starting to grow on me) The Tourist - the soft drums and soft vocals are beautiful. (4/5 a little droning sometimes but not bad) i actually super enjoyed this. was actually a little upset to see it loop. anyway, good album 5/5 only seems fair.
this has two songs on it. its a jojo reference. you have to share the same time for vocals and instruments so you can really see everybody shine. everybody gets a gold star. it’s a filler to me. not bad but not great either. classic floyd sound 3/5
i fucking have this album and i love it to death 5/5
Old Matt Mercer lookin ass International Feel - okay. psych rock again. very brash (2/5) Never Never Land - gospel time woo. (2/5 the dreamy sound is warpled too much for me) Tic Tic Tic, It Wears Off - ska/retro jackbox version of Mario 64 soundtrack mixed with the sims. (5/5) You Need Your Head - I'm being screamed at by the Talking Heads. (1/5) Rock & Roll Pussy - i'm sorry, rock and roll what (3/5 okay) Dogfight giggle is where i stop the format what the fuck is this. Undertale???? oh thank god. i don't think i like cruise ship white dad soul rock.
i literally just finished a review that said i don't like white cruise ship dad rock. this better not be the whole album. hm that was definitely a way of getting a message across.
finally a change in genres Don't Know Why - it's like jazz with a country twang. i like it. (4/5 i don't wanna get my hopes too high) Seven Years - i can totally see why she's grouped up with Jack Johnson. Very easy jazzy sound. it's pleasant :) (5/5) Cold Cold Heart - jazz in Bikini Bottom. (5/5) Feelin' The Same Way - we're back to the country sound. the kind of thing i remember hearing when i was a kid. (5/5 it's giving Oren Lavie vibes) Come Away With Me - this is what i imagine what falling in love in the rain in like New York during a Hallmark film sounds like (3/5) Shoot the Moon - don't do that >:( (1/5) Turn Me On - i don't know what it is but powerful femme vocals like that are great every time (4/5) Lonestar - the country side of this is really growing on me. (3/5 i'm getting bored of this album. this is not my pace of music) I've Got To See You Again - this is the James Bond seductress from our gay cowboy story! (5/5 drama!) Painter Song - "If you want to destroy my painter/Hold the thread as I walk away." (1/5 got weezer'd) One Flight Down - is this what they play on Delilah? (4/5 "Easy Jazz hits to wind down your Thursday evening.") Nightingale - this was a very pleasant listen (4/5) The Long Day Is Over - this feels a little bit more church music to me. (3/5) The Nearness of You - a fitting outro. (3/5) i have to be fair and give it a 4/5 because the talent is there, i just can't get behind slow country/jazz sound for very long unless i'm trying to go to sleep. it objectively is good, just not for me.
if i was stuck in a room with John Lennon, a gun and 3 bullets i would shoot him 5 times.
i listened to this on my phone rather than on my computer like i usually do but i want to respect the format i got going 'cause i did enjoy this album. in case anyone reading the global stuff sees this, these are written in real time while listening to the song for the first time. F.M.S.N.T.M.O - i mean this sounds like the definition of funk. sex turned music, can't go wrong. (3/5 i had to check to make sure my headphones weren't broken. -1 for the balance but spotify could have just broken this song*) Run Charlie Run - i do not know how to talk about this song but it's so fun. (5/5 the song is just correct) Papa Was a Rollin' Stone - 11 minutes baby. tickling my taint for almost 2 full minutes in this intro. Three and a Half Minutes. Four minutes in and the song starts. got that funk-blues vibe. okay i low-key love these kind of like skit/song things where it's a story in the form of a blues inspired type of expression. (5/5 i was bumping that whole intro too. tbf i reached 9 minutes and kinda forgot i was listening to this song but i'm still vibing once the vocals started again) Love Woke Me Up This Morning - very gospel. not my thing but i do love the vocals :) (3/5) I Ain't Got Nothin' - shoowop shoowop. now this kind of jazzy blues sound is something i can fuck with in these minor chords. (5/5 this slaps. and i love the lyrics, they're kinda silly but fair) T.F.T.I.E.S.Y.F - these fucking FOB song titles. it is a love song (2/5 too slow for me) Mother Nature - that drum is getting treated like a gong, damn. (3/5 short and sweet) Do Your Thing - Do It Do It. (3/5) honestly overall i have to only give this a 3/5. it was good, don't get me wrong, but this particular album being this short feels a little scattered in really showing what this group does. it was good, just too short for me to really feel all of it together. you know what i mean? *the individual song ratings have literally nothing to do with the ending vote.
oh my god. Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was. I Zimbra - the intro is that part of Fireball by Pitbull. i don't know what language this is but i want to assume based on what i kind of know of Talking Heads, it might be an African language? (3/5 good intro) Mine - the Talking Heads i know. the weird bullshit is here :> (4/5 funny wavy sound) Paper - i feel so bad cause i really can't get behind the Cake thing of just not singing mixed with like Jethro Tull. (5/5 cause it was giving Psycho Killer) Cities - all i heard was "look over there" (3/5) Life During Wartime - the military industrial complex targets poor and uneducated communities to do their bidding. what good are notebooks during wartime? (4/5) Memories Can't Wait - as much as i hate the talk songs, i do like the way that Talking Heads presents the music as a whole. (3/5) Air - fun Halloween spooky sound (3/5) Heaven - chill vibes but nothing too out of place here i guess (2/5) Animals - why the fukc am i being yelled at (1/5) Electric Guitar - what (3/5 scooby-doo ass) Drugs - that was Homer Simperson getting bonked on the head. (3/5 i'm getting lost on this album ngl) Dancing for Money - i also don't know the words to this song (2/5 it did the split ear thing a minute in and i was a little thrown) Life During Wartime - part 2!! i'm gonna be honest, i don't know the difference (1/5 for making me feel like I'm wasting my time. i might not "finish" this album cause the last three songs are alternate versions of shit) i have to give this a 2/5. standing by my "i don't like cake" i don't like this. i really only like Pyscho Killer and Once in a Lifetime.
AH IT'S FRENCH 1/5 NO GRANCE> GET THAT SHIT OUT This is Radio Etienne - get this french shit out of here (1/5) Only Love Can Break Your Heart - this is such an interesting sound to come from 2009. it sounds like it should be earlier. (3/5 fun pop sounds) Wilson - 1/5 Carnt Sleep - what'd you call me? this is the outro to Neon Genesis Evangelion written by the Gorillaz. (2/5 kinda boring) Girl VII - i love audiobooks. (1/5) Spring - it’s a song 🤷🏻♂️ (2/5) She’s The One - i honestly don’t know if this funk electrónica europop sounds good. (2/5 it’s getting.. flatter somehow) Stoned To Say The Least - get the british out of my ear too. That’s the Way (I Like It) by KC & The Sunshine Band came out in 1975. (2/5 original was better tbh) Seven minutes of this. The default beat for Seven Minutes. Nothing Can Stop Us - if this is like the last song i will not keep listening with my full attention. (2/5) there’s another seven minute song. i like long songs but i think i will keep myself safe. 2/5 i guess. i’m at the end of this with nothing to say. that plateaued and then took such a sharp dip.
When I Kissed The Teacher - this song is making me realize that i have never sat and listened to ABBA ever in my life. (1/5 it's giving statutory) dANCING QUEEN - 5/5 i can listen to this song ONCE in a blue moon. feel the beat from the tangerine!!!!! My Love, My Life - they are so Swedish. (3/5 just a slow love song) Dum Dum Diddle - you know what, i appreciate the goofy onomatopoeia. dum dum diddle, ya know? (4/5) Knowing Me, Knowing You - i'm vibing but tbh i'm not really listening. i think this is another band that is just kind of easy listening. (3/5 i'm just not blown away. 2:50 Sims 3 intro?) Money, Money, Money - the prequel to "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!". i was joking?? i'm low-key impressed with how dark this sounds with this minor key. (4/5 i have not been sold on this song, but i get it) That's Me - still just vibing. enjoying the vibes though (3/5) Why Did It Have To Be Me? - hm. i don't feel this. (2/5 i am not a fan of the like Jukebox Rock sound this kinda has) Tiger - i think i am being threatened (4/5 girlboss of you) Arrival - i really wanted to make a "omg they said the title" joke. 1/5 for ruining my fun actually. Fernando - beach vibes with my boy Fernando (3/5 back to vibing) Happy Hawai'i - hhhhhhh the ASMR type shit going on i'm going to rip my skin off. 1/5 i might not be able to finish this song. jk the waves got quieter. anyway 2/5 for that i kinda feel bad giving this a 3/5. it really wasn't a bad album at all. i had some personal issues with some of the songs but for the most part it was positive vibes so i feel like this should get a pass. it just really isn't my thing. my favorite song by them is Gimme! so i thought i might get some songs like that but i didn't.
Precious - are we in the early punk scene? this band sounds the exact same way they look. (3/5 a rock song. an intro but i want more) The Phone Call - okay the chill punk rock vibe is actually pretty nice. (4/5 the tone was from The Wall too) Up The Neck - its like a beach party! (3/5) Tattooed Love Boys - i think this song is like a swing rock. very interesting. i like it (4/5 very of its time) Space Invader - just a chill guitar spotlight. i enjoy a good instrumental. (5/5) The Wait - we didn't start the fire. this song is a secret sometimes. it's okay (3/5) Stop Your Sobbing - this kinda gives a Cranberries vibe a little. (3/5 it's on the pop side of it but it's alright.) Kid - it feels like we're doing a punk Beach Boys thing right now. not quiet beach goth but close. (4/5 i imagine a group of pale goth people doing Charlie Brown dances on the beach) Private Life - the reggae sound is fucking. it's very warpled all over. journey of a song honestly. (5/5 i like the artsy-ness of it. of fucking course it's 6 minutes long) Brass in Pocket - interesting change to the pop rock sound. (3/5 i'm not a fan actually) Lovers of Today - the slow dance sound of this is nice. reminds me a little bit of Pink Floyd. (4/5 didn't hold my attention the whole time but i enjoyed it) Mystery Achievement - catchy mumble rock :) (4/5 catchy) 4/5 good feel through the whole album even if there were a few snags along the way. this album doesn't blow me out of the water, but i ended up enjoying it more than i thought i would at first.
Once - god i have not listened to Pearl Jam in so long. the drums go much harder in Pearl Jam than i thought. i feel like i clocked them for being much softer than this. (5/5) Even Flow - it's the Pearl Jam song. (5/5) Alive - the other Pearl Jam song. (5/5) Why Go - this is just what Pearl Jam sounds like. i'm a little worried they have same-sound syndrome. it's like a grunge version of Metallica. While it's not bad the last three songs sound pretty same-y to me. (3/5 i want a change) Black - i'm starting to realize how many Pearl Jam songs i know outside of their most popular stuff. (4/5 i asked for change) Jeremy - i'm starting to think that i have listened to this album already. (giving christian rock heehee 4/5) Oceans - yes queen hit those notes. (4/5 much more big band feel. Phil Collins kind of vibe) Porch - get him off that massage chair! (5/5 roller coaster song) Garden - i can get behind being more lively. giving the guitar quite a spotlight (4/5 smooth and interesting guitar solo) Deep - i'm being screamed at. stop scaring Mr. Pearl Jam away! (4/5 had fun :>) Release - you tricked me into thinking the song ended. rude. fun psychedelic vibe going on at the end. this wasn't my favorite but this was a good listen honestly. the Pearl Jam i know and like 4/5
Bodies - a chill intro to an album. i like that we've slowed into RnB (4/5) Pick Up Your Feelings - i like this a lot. (5/5 talent) Put It Down - i used to listen and drive around to this kind of thing back in like 2018. (5/5 always a good drive) On It - this is very classic RnB. these are hit or miss for me. (3/5 it sounds good but it's a miss) Price Tags - women in RnB feel underrepresented. this fucks (5/5) Lost One - you can hear the inspiration from the early 00s throughout this. the development to this is great (5/5) The Other Side - it's so summer drive vibe. (5/5 it's just nice.) Girls Like Me - a very fitting ending to an album too (4/5) this album actually slapped a lot. maybe because it's the most recent album i've had but i thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. 5/5 the amount of skits are.. a lot but honestly it was pretty easy to ignore.
Lost Woman - i feel bad for saying this. do all these boy band types just sound the same or am i crazy? (2/5 i thought i was listening to The Beatles for a second) O.U.S.D. - Fall Out Boy ass title. alright alright. i was just being mean to the first song to be funny. this is much more "rockabilly" than i expected. the shredding is actually a nice accent to the repetitive blues beat. (4/5 i'm surprised at the tone shift. i also liked the title) The Nazz are Blue - so i started looking into the band and stuff at this point cause the math doesn't make sense. (3/5) I Can't Make Your Way - it's The Beatles again. (2/5 going on a trip with this album today i guess) Rack My Mind - i hate that my right ear gets a little secret for a while. but i will be absolutely okay with a guitar solo in one ear and a different guitar solo in the other. (3/5 fun little left and right only at the end saved it) Farewell - The Ren Faire! (4/5 i love the ren fair) Hot House of Omagarashid - hm. we're in the weird. this is just something to dance to. okay. (3/5 yes girl, play the glass cups with a spoon) this so far has a lot of mixed sounds which makes an interesting listen. however, what pulled me out of doing my format is the amount of songs. i feel like the average run time of a song on this album is 2 minutes. there are so many short songs that just seem like they were dudes just havin' fun. jk i don't know how to read. some songs are repeats as alt or mono versions. i'm just a dumbass but i stand by it. 3/5 it really wasn't all that bad but it definitely sounds like that 60s era of UK boy band.
i'm not a huge fan of Ozzy so i'm just gonna listen through it. but tbh Paranoid has no reason to be that short. i really hate when music tricks you into thinking that your audio is too quiet all the sudden like the song is a secret. it's not great or bad in any particular way. this is just not made for me at all. it didn't feel like a waste of time though. 3/5
This Is a Call - it's kinda funny cause like. this doesn't sound like Foo Fighters to me but it does. (4/5 i don't think i know Foo Fighters as well as i thought) I'll Stick Around - this is very close to what i grew up on so i really like this. it goes hard but still kinda sounds like the Dad Rock i know. (5/5 slap the fuck outta those drums) Big Me - this is closer to what i would have associated with early Foo Fighters. (3/5 i can see where Red Vox gets the inspiration) Alone + Easy Target - this sounds like the Foo Fighters i associate with more recent stuff. (5/5 i like it) Good Grief - damn i forgot how much i enjoy the hard rock that came out of the 90s. very loud brass and "recorded in a garage" vibe. (4/5 that classic slappy repetitive drum) Floaty - perfect title. (5/5 just for title) Weenie Beenie - another perfect title?? (5/5 basically handing these out) Oh, George - i don't know what it is about a Foo Fighters' guitar solo but it fucks. (4/5 almost) For All the Cows - the bass. that was a good build up to that drop of a chorus. (5/5) X-Static - good slow song to kind of palette cleanse before the last two songs. (4/5 i like it) Wattershed - going immediately headfirst into it huh. (4/5 okay i get it going pretty hard) Exhausted - a good outro pretty chill so far. the noise better not just be this for 2 minutes. oh thank god. the song has become a secret (4/5 shh) this album was really good. i really liked most of the songs but i wasn't completely blown away. i will say with the current discography of Foo Fighters, this is a good entry point of getting into their stuff. getting raised listening to this kind of stuff, i'd honestly get back into Foo Fighters. getting a 5/5 for the titles.
Ace of Spades - i know this song (3/5 goes hard for earlier metal) Love Me Like a Reptile - this song is serving. it's so gender (4/5) Shoot You In the Back - it sounds kinda like "Barracuda" to me. (3/5) Live to Win - these so far are just Harley riding songs. (3/5 it's kinda starting to lose me) Fast and Loose - this is what Vargkelethor does when he does metal music jokes. (4/5 this is a longer song so there's more to it) (We Are) The Roadcrew - fun metal guitar solo. (3/5) Fire Fire - okay there's something different. the group chant is a fun flair. (4/5) Jailbait - hm. well it was just dad classic metal. very samey. i dunno.
What Up Gangsta - okay this 50 Cent is fun. (5/5 honestly a bop) Patiently Waiting - Emernem? (3/5 the song was okay not crazy for it tho) Many Men - i get that a lot of early (especially) rap is influenced by the culture of the 90s crime rates and economic disparity giving way for gangs to thrive. it is very sad. however, what is the point of including a shoot-out skit before or in between songs? (5/5 genuinely. i don't think it adds or takes away much but,,) In Da Club - go shorty its your birthday (4/5 its a funny song. -1 for gay slur) High All the Time - "i was gonna ____ but then I got high" the 50 Cent version. (4/5 i get it. imagine how good the high is on modern weed) Heat - i really vibed to this. very driving song. (5/5 i enjoyed this) If I Can't - okay, i see you 50 Cent. (5/5 good rhymes honestly + the flow) Blood Hound - it's giving very DMX. i like the electronic beat. (5/5 honestly it slaps) Back Down - this really slowed and it's kind of a let down. the energy felt really high, then came to a halt. (2/5 :/) P.I.M.P. - oh i didn't know i knew this song. (3/5 not what i thought i guess. but it was alright) Like My Style - the fuckin toddler piano in the background (4/5 the energy is back.) Poor Lil Rich - why does he love going up like a smug question. it's so funny (5/5 just for that) 21 Questions - it's low key giving the "what about my hug" guy vibe. big butt (2/5 eh. it's a love song) Don't Punch Me - the bat is the vocal setting on a keyboard that also does punch sounds. (2/5 again the energy is too low. why does Eminem keep showing up) Gotta Make It To Heaven - the vocals sound like Tyler the Creator. same voice. (2/5 that's all i could think about. i don't really feel anything about this song) Waknsta - a what. (3/5 a background song) U Not Like Me - the energy went back up. man, inconsistent. (3/5) Lifes On The Line - you could mix this song with My Mom by Eminem. (3/5 hard but not great) i think i have to give this a 4/5 just because the inconsistency. it's really just getting down to the smaller details, but i did enjoy most of it which is why it's getting a 4. the lower energy songs dragged it away from a 5.
Ha Ha I'm Drowning - so far it's giving me Men At Work. it just sounds like british 70s upbeat pop rock so far (2/5 it's not catchy though. just repetitive) Sleeping Gas - okay this is a vibe so far. (4/5 for giving a little funk in the middle there) Treason - i think this is giving “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and “White Wedding” (3/5 i had to look through songs i don’t really like >:/) Second Head - ??? white wedding again??? (2/5 it’s just a repetitive bassline.) Poppies - it is a 5 minute long song. i just feel like i’ve heard this before. it’s really not standing out to me at all (2/5) Went Crazy - do you think he looked around? (3/5 the bass fucks cause it’s an 80s song from the era of funk/pop rock but i can’t. i read the lyrics, actually this song’s message fucks) B.B.K.T.P - kinda interesting but fairly short. (3/5 i’m back to feeling kind of neutral about this) Bouncing Babies - i like the more spooky sound that comes with using the synths and loud drums. (4/5 fine this fucks) Books - actually if i hear one more fucking bassline that just goes up and down the whole time i am going to lose it. (2/5 it’s the only thing i can hear) Thief of Baghdad - okay why is this album like.. every other song fucking sucks. this song is so good?? (4/5 because i cannot in good conscience give any song on this album a 5. it has to wow me) When I Dream - she said doot doot doot. bapadabapadabap you know? (3/5 okay a normal pop song thing going on. oh no it is 7 minutes of nonsense words. i’m going to kill myself 2/5) Reward - i think this is just ska. (3/5 ska) Kilimanjaro - oh the start of “Rasputin” or a Pink Floyd song. easy. this is nothing. it’s building up to nothing. (2/5 come on please end this album good) Strange House In The Snow - me when i have to move a metal chair on a tile floor. but the chair is also.. a donkey? (4/5 okay! this is very Pink Floyd i don’t mind this. The weird sounds kinda sound like shit, but it adds to the ambiance) Use Me - he is getting pegged. (2/5 you cannot convince me otherwise) Traison - okay this is just Treason in French. i wasn't sure (1/5 for this song being in simlish) i really wish i could like this whole album but the up and downs of consistency was so ass. sorry you get 3/5
i really don't want to hate this but i hate the Beastie Boys but this is what white boy angst rap should sound like forever. Rhymin & Stealin - :| (Fish-eye lens by Strongbad is literally a beastie boys parody. holy shit that is so funny. 2/5 this is so slow please bring energy that isn't just yelling from the back of a room at a microphone) The New Style - DJ KHALID?? it's very early 90s rap. I have never not ever decided to rap/ take that skill from me? nah that's cap. Homie I'm here to stay/ Can't make me go away (WAY)! oh man i was gonna do a bit to prove that it's not hard to be a beastie boy but then i read the lyrics. Due to previous albums this is getting a one and I will not be finishing it.
Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - this is a very hippie and into the 70s sound. that peace loving, weed smoking stuff that boomers refuse to acknowledge they did. (3/5 not my thing so far, but it isn't bad. it sounds like it leans more into the rock sound a little so i hope it picks up later) Marrakesh Express - alright i'm on a train. i get it. feel like i'm in an alternate universe's version of Flight of the Navigator. (4/5 this is a road trip song when traveling cost 50 cents.) Guinnevere - i actually really like this. it's super chill. (5/5) You Don't Have to Cry - a generic pop song. just kind of a radio hit vibe (3/5 not bad but not blowing me away) Pre-Road Downs - same as the last song. it's a song (3/5) Wooden Ships - okay i see that guitar solo. alright get it, love that era of funk where you let the guitar really shine (4/5) Lady of the Island - another song that is kind of a secret. this feels like a lullaby. (5/5 a very good wind down song) Helplessly Hoping - if you like listening to this kind of thing and want something a little closer to the 2000s, Oren Lavie is your guy. (4/5 it's not as folky but it's just as chill) Long Time Gone - oh we're going into a funky rock sound. okay okay this is fucking so far. giving Rock n Roll almost. like dipping their toe into the water. (4/5 the organ at the end is killing me) 49 Bye-Byes - 5/5 for the title easy. Do for the Others - we are back into 'it is just a song' vibes again. chill but not bad. (3/5) Song with No Words - if this has words i will cry. 5/5 perfect thank you. you will not believe what this song doesn't have. Everybody's Talkin' - if this song isn't just everyone talking i will cry. is this just "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" super slowed down? (1/5 no one was talking >:[ ) Teach Your Children - i don't remember the words. why are you asking me? oh okay that's the end (3/5) i'm going to give this a 4/5. i enjoyed a lot of the songs but this isn't my type of thing. only going down one star because i kept checking out. the energy isn't high enough for me.
Pharaoh's Dance - oh no oh no oh no. please do not be avant-garde. actually looking at how this album is formatted, i'll have to listen through and review later. this has 20 minute long songs. it is a 7 song album that hits 1hr45mins. okay format is: i'll put time stamps and track number. 1) 4:13 in, this bitch be makin that trumpet SHIT. he is making the trumpet that main character and we are simply just NPCs. 8:11 i think i'm falling into a hole? is that the vibe? nah i'm a little sneaky boy who's sneakin'. 11:30 someone is scratching the good spot on the trumpet dog. i am in a fever dream. 13:45 i think there is three different songs happening. this is what 100 gecs sounds like to me. 17:55 stop tickling the trumpet sir please D: 2) starting strong in a mystery drama. the fucking trumpet is getting shot through space and the Doppler effect can't keep up. but the trumpet is also in a cave. oh boy. this is going to be an interesting album. why is Jazz like this sometimes. 3:20 okay we are entering a real song??? 6:45 okay we were in song territory. we are back into the noise phase of a lot happening at once. 12:00 hm. this is what it sounds like in my head when i go to the store by myself. 14:15 checking to see if all the notes on the keyboard work. 18:15 it's a secret :> (all i can think of trying to get through this is: "You must acquire a taste for: Freeform Jazz! 🤔") 21:15 i get the skill it must take to be able to do this kind of thing for 30 minutes but. just Doot doot doot fading out randomly, it keeps tickling me. why is this so weird. 25:00 please stop pretending to end the song. the second disc has the longest song cap out at 17 minutes. let me move on. 3) okay now this is more what i expected when i thought this was gonna be jazzy. this is jazz. 4) that jazzy guitar sounds really good. it sounds like everyone is vibing and although all of it is pretty different, it's an upbeat jazz. 5) i don't know if it's an oboe or clarinet but that deep instrument in the back is really fucking. this guy does have a lot of trumpet talent. i can see why this is included but god what a rocky start. 6) it's a lot but thank you for calming down. good breathing time. 7) cranking out the socket wrench instrument! okay i can't give this a 1/5 because the jazz that finally shined through was actually good. HOWEVER i can't give it higher than a 2. i would have listened on x2 speed to get through this if i could.
Cracking - Shape of My Heart by Sting. oh fuck me. please don't be a spoken fucking word. thank god. i really thought i was going to be listening to Taylor Swift x Cake. oh jk it is just Taylor Swift as Cake. (2/5 the instruments are good. i would listen to a audiobook if i didn't want to listen to music) Freeze Tag - okay this is music. this really doesn't sound like '85. this sounds like a pop album that would come out recently. i'm actually surprised. (3/5 this album is on thin ice for the first track so i'm putting this song in the middle) Marlene On The Wall - okay i am going to say something controversial but brave. there is an artist that i have a disdain for. they paid a significant amount of money to sound like this about 5 years ago and i would not be surprised at all if this is what their current album sounds like. (4/5 i like the slow pop/folk almost country twang. this actually sounds really good so far. kind of Cranberries-esque) Small Blue Thing - i am really getting a mix of sounds. this is very Sting but it's also Cranberries. the most interesting thing i think this sounds like is Nitin Sawhney. all three i really enjoy. (5/5 i might have to give this album a 4/5 because of the first track) Straight Lines - i think this reminds me of Tom's Diner? this isn't my favorite (3/5 oh my god i didn’t know she was the one that did Tom’s Diner holy shit.) Undertow - Glad you Came beat. there's so many modern references it's weird. (4/5 this is actually not bad. i like the Phil Collins drums.) Some Journey - i just found out that she is who did Tom’s Diner and that’s all i can hear now. i’m enjoying this but i can hear echos of that song. (4/5 chill easy background bop) The Queen And The Soldier - very european folk pop. this is meant to be played on a lute and harpsichord. (3/5 the story telling could be a bit better but i see what she’s putting down) Knight Moves - okay break out the TOOL. the contrast on the instruments with her vocals is going pretty hard. this is exactly what this song is called. the song picked the title on this one. it’s very psychedelic and progressive pop/rock. the music takes place in a forest at dusk while it’s raining. (5/5 idk this gets the imaginative senses going. i’m also a little high and i totally get why people listen to chill psychedelic music while high.) Neighborhood Girls - it sounds like Cake. 1/5 besides where this trails into a spoken word over a good beat, this album actually fucks. the last song isn't actually a 1/5, she does actually sing later in the song and it sounds good (the bass fucks). but because the spoken word stuff spoils it a little i gotta dip to a 4/5. that and some of the songs were stuff more to keep on in the background and not actualy pay attention to. very good album where it counted though.
Tanz Debil - this is STOMP. raccoon music. made by raccon. made for ... to be played in a warehouse where no is. this is true avant-garde nonsense. (1/5 this is a song that Gir makes as a joke that everyone loves for some reason and there's a whole party just for this song. i don't think this is a joke) Steh Auf Berlin - right. it cannot be this for 3 fucking minutes. Thank Fuck. i would like to apologize to Bitches Brew KIND OF. oh i reached the horror movie part. oh don't make me change my mind on this. (1/5 nope not changing my mind. my Autism is making me want to die.) Negativ Nein - this is the "I'm Steve!" episode of sbemail of homestarrunnerdotcom. (1/5 go get two of your friends, find a cave, bring an echo mic toy for kids, a small electric keyboard that can play a repetitive beat and DIY) U-Haft-Muzak - i don't haft muzak. ich habe dasmetalnoizenshaft und shkreamenmoanen :) 1/5 Draussen ist Feindlich - i want to see what Lions Gate horror film this was made for. 1/5 Schmerzen horen - it's almost a song. it's really close to almost being a song. 2/5 for effort. Jet'm - laser sounds on a keyboard drum effect. 2/5 for laser. Kollaps - thank you for no more vocals right now. Iron Man by Ozzy if it never actually started. got a short break from vocals. now i get to be yelled at again. oh no this is 8 minutes. 1/5 Sensucht - i also love this one note in particular. 1/5 Hirnsage - (: 1/5 i can't do this anymore.
Terrapin - slow Beatles. (2/5 boring so far) No Good Trying - this is a DHMIS song. (2/5 eh) Love You - :/ i just feel like i've heard this exact thing before. (2/5) No Man's Land - the instrumental is just like the intro for Guy's Diner's Drive Ins and Dives or something. (2/5 i'm very bored) Dark Globe - god i wake everyday thankful i don't sound like this. can you imagine being this british. (1/5 this sounds just like fucking Pink Floyd.) Here I Go - so i looked into it, and Syd Barrett credited to be a founder of Psychedelic Rock. so i guess he sounds exactly the way he means to. it just feels samey to me so i'm not picking this up at all. (2/5 it's like Pink FloydxDavid Bowie) Octopus - okay this is Psychedelic i can get behind. just something kind of strange. (3/5 alright keep going) Golden Hair - like a dream sequence while high. (2/5 eh) Long Gone - okay that was just a song. (3/5 it's a song) STLCL - a lot of these unfortunately feel monotone in acoustic. (2/5) Feel - well this was strumming a guitar for a while. it's not bad i guess. (2/5) If It's in You - oh boy a skit. 1/5 Late Night - well this sure is the last song on this album :) i know this guy founded Pink Floyd. still 3/5 cause it wasn't bad and i think he achieved what he was going for.
Let's Get It On - oh shit this song 1/5 for eharmony or whatever using it. Please Don't Go Away - okay very chill very music to have lots of sex to. (4/5 for fu(n)ck) If I Should Die Tonight - RnB is literally all just sex music huh. (3/5 sex) Keep Gettin' It On - shout out to HBomberGuy's new video talking about plagiarism having this song in it for three seconds. that's how i know this song now. woo (4/5 it's a more upbeat song for hitting on a lady) Come Get to This - okay. please your woman sex song. (4/5 i think this guy likes sex) Distant Lovers - oh is this a sad love song. yes (3/5 these are slow and kinda boring for me) You Sure Love to Ball - this is just sex again. i have been fooled. (2/5 my ear got fucked i think?) Just To Keep You Satisfied - this definitely puts a cap to the album. this was 40 minutes of fucking. i guess i'm hrony now :/ this is 40 minutes of Aphrodite reincarnate Marvin Gaye talk about how much he loves fuckin. 5/5 the point was made perfectly Marvin Gaye. i get it.
Across The Great Divide - this is definitely a song. a lot more on the gospel side of a blues/rock song than i expected. (3/5 so far middle of the road and not jumping out at me) Rag Mama Rag - i like the big band sound. a little surprised to hear a tuba. it was actually a saxophone. (4/5 for the brass) TNTDOD - i can't tell if this is satire 2/5 When You Wake - i don't know why this sounds like psychedelic country almost? (3/5 this is what i could see a 60 year old listening to that might ride a harley) UOCC - i think i don't like this. (2/5 its getting samey) Whispering Pines - it's almost like a church song and i hate it (2/5) Jemima Surrender - nah (1/5 this is not as sexy as you think it sounds) Rockin' Chair - i'm getting pretty bored of this album now (2/5 i cannot relate to this at all) Look Out Cleveland - a pick up in energy. i can see this playing in a bar that is honestly just somebody's barn. (2/5 this is pretty predictable at this point though) Jawbone - lean really far away again please. (1/5 i can't keep doing this. oh my god it's 4 minutes. Bluey theme) The Unfaithful Servant - oh boo hoo. appreciate things while you have something or whatever. (2/5 the sax being used for train sounds was very good. that's it though) King Harvest - a way to close out the album. sure 3/5 i guess i feel like i listened to the same song at different points for 40 minutes. the blues rock n' roll thing wears me down really fast. due to personal taste i put this at 2/5. if you like the blues + classic rock n' roll sound mixed in with country you will like this.
Black Dog - oh god this fucking song. (3/5 shout out to "Trapped in the Drive-Thru" by Weird Al) Rock n' Roll - i miss going on the Aerosmith roller coaster :( this is very classic 70s rock. rock n metal with the early metal guitar shredding thrown in (3/5 i'm trying to stay neutral but this era tends to get redundant) The Battle of Evermore - i do appreciate the amount of creativity that goes into songs like this. is this the shit that people said caused the Satanic Panic? (4/5 this is a good change of pace) Oh god this is Stairway to Heaven. its 8 fucking minutes. everyone knows this song. alright fine it goes hard 5/5 Misty Mountain Hop - what the fuck 4/5 (this inspired "Don't Tell Me How to Feed my Pigs") Four Sticks - this a song. it's not good or bad (2/5 kind of a let down compared to the last song) Going to California - okay a song that feels like a love lost rather than a sad love song (3/5 still a love song to me) When the Levee Breaks - he got pegged 3/5 weak ass moan overall, not a bad album. i enjoyed this a lot more than i thought i would. so 4/5
Stripped Intro - okay get it. 5/5 Can't Hold Us Down - this era of clap-back albums is kinda sad. like i think most femme fronted groups or artists, all got the same criticism that Nikki and Cardi and Cupcakke got today. nothing changed for hip hop :/ (4/5 good not my vibe) Walk Away - (all you gotta do is Walk AwAaaAayyeyey vine) this is the RnB version of Before He Cheats. (4/5 okay good album pacing) Fighter - jesus she has a lot to say okay go off sis 5/5 i didn't know i knew this song. Infatuation - this is that early 00s sound i grew up on. (3/5@me i didn't get into this kind of music and i wish i had had better taste) Loving Me 4 Me - AUGH yes we love numbers gimme that y2k baby. this is a good breather (4/5 it fucks i'm sorry) Impossible - mmm we're in the slow RnB again. i feel like i've heard this song before (2/5 she is talented though) Underappreciated - i feel so bad, i feel like i've heard this on a Sims radio station before (4/5 in my head it sounds like Simlish i really don't know why) Beautiful - oh my god this song (i don't know what to give this because it is one of many songs ruined for me from service jobs) Make Over - okay damn go off (5/5) Cruz - it's giving a country song (3/5 eh) Soar - this is a movie song for sure (3/5 not a great movie but a cult classic type) Get Mine, Get Yours - oh 90s funk hip hop. (4/5 it fucks but it's not quite there yet) Dirrty - okay this is the kind of party jams i remember (5/5 this fucks) The Voice Within - this is just a slow song. it's just a ballad (2/5 a little boring for me) I'm OK - this is a very sad song. (5/5 ouch) Keep On Singin' My Song - a good pick-me-up song for the end of this album. (4/5 it works but a little long for me) overall this album was very good. i enjoyed listening to this more than i thought i would. so i think i have to give it a 5/5. even the interludes flowed.
Silver Dagger - okay normal folk. just a kind of sad love song (3/5 this really isn't my thing. i don't think i'm gonna like this) East Virginia - she has talent for sure. the vibrato is a lot for me (2/5 slow folk on acoustic) Fare Thee Well - a little more pick-me-up okay. (4/5 just for talent) House Of The Rising Sun - i guess this sounds a bit more blues. (3/5 i'm very bored of this) oh my god it was satire. two albums ago i just realized the artists are actually pretty cool. i just read it at surface level. i honestly am bored of this but there has been random pick-ups that go pretty hard for folk. i'm not really blown away but it was alright. O' Brother Where Art Thou???????? honestly a 3/5 wasn't that great but it was better near the end.
Sympathy For The Devil - oh god this song (3/5 it is catchy but it is too long) No Expectations - it’s a slow almost second intro. (3/5 different but not better) Dear Doctor - drunken road trip vibe i think (3/5 it’s so middle of the road) Parachute Woman - it’s all just alabama road trip music. the whole album is just alabama road trip music. i think it is all very.. boring. so 2/5 cause everything would have got a 2 or 3
What’s Going On - jazzy, pretty upbeat. i like this so far (4/5) What’s Happening Brother - i don’t want this to be the only theme for this album. a light happy dance song (4/5 still funky) Flying High - this is really just the song to show off his voice. (5/5 beautiful) Save The Children - 🥺 (3/5 i hate partial spoken word) God Is Love - eh i could do without the evangelizing. minus the lyrics it’s fun. (2/5) Mercy Mercy Me - oh okay. i get Elton John from this. (4/5 very smooth listen) Right On - i’m surprised at a 7 minute song. (4/5 chill) Wholy Holy - it’s just a slow jazzy christian song. (2/5) Inner City Blues - i like the set beat for the song. good bump (4/5) i have to stop at a 3/5 because the biblical stuff. other than that it was pretty good, but it was all i could hear through those songs.
Changes - Shrek 2!!! 5/5 Oh! Pretty Things - just a rock song (4/5 i enjoyed it) Eight Line Poem - eh it’s like a sample (2/5 not bad) Life on Mars? - American Horror Story!!! 5/5 Kooks - just me and the freaks (3/5 eh) Quicksand - very dream psychedelic and less psych rock (3/5 chill though) Fill Your Heart - very show tunes (2/5 not for me) Andy Warhol - interesting (4/5 did not start strong) Song for Bob Dylan - i mean he mimicked the sound on his own style pretty well. (3/5 talent but i don’t like this) Queen Bitch - i did not feel this (2/5) The Bewlay Brothers - he was so turned on (3/5) interesting album but most of the songs were not for me. not as trippy as i wanted. so i have to give a 3/5
i actually dislike this genre so much. i really can’t get behind it at all. it’s hardcore punk and as cool as this probably is live, this doesn’t translate to recorded media. i’m going to give this a 2/5 because i don’t like it but this wasn’t the worst thing i’ve ever heard.
Go to the Floor - i don't think i have actively listened to Missy Elliott. i don't like this intro, but i get it. sucks that 2002 is little to no different 21 years later. Trump and Gates not giving a shit cause they make too much money? yeah (3/5 i'm starting at a 3 because i don't understand Missy Elliott's flow yet. Eminem Shake That? Ass Like That) Bring the Pain - oh Method Man. so far Missy Elliott has a very chill remix beat vibe with smooth rap flow. (4/5 i love M-E-T H-O-D Man the spelling is fun. feel like Fergie) Gossip Folks - this is so 00s. it kinda hurts. (3/5 i like the rough raw rap stuff, the content is not for me though. god the lyrics are so dated* holy shit) Work It - i only know the one line. i didn't know the song though (4/5 this would have been popping at the skate rink) Back in the Day - Jay-Z sounds the same. this is just a chill rap song more hip hop than rap in my opinion. (3/5 i don't think i like this.) Funky Fresh Dressed - this is the raw rap flow i like. (4/5 i vibe with it) Pussycat - the RnB side. this is okay. a flirty song (3/5 eh. this is literally what Megan Thee and CupcakKe said) Nothing out There for Me - this was before Beyonce was Beyonce? damn i cannot believe this is early Beyonce. (3/5 only because Beyonce talks about Jay Z like that a lot and he does not deserve it) Slide - i'm going to be honest. if i listen to one more Missy Elliott song on this Missy Elliott albums start with "Missy Elliott exclusive" i sure fucking hope it is???? (1/5 for reminding me after the last song. this goes kinda hard though) Play That Beat - i legit will stop listening to this album if the next song opens with "Missy Elliott exclusive" 1/5 Ain't That Funny - thin ice because it TECHNICALLY did not open with "Missy Elliott Exclusive" 2/5 Hot - alright it broke me. if this album took the time in intermissions to bother me, i'd be okay. this album is good, but the talking or something could have been edited. it only bothered me a lot toward the end, i get that rappers have their sign-on and sign-off thing that they do sometimes to tell you who is on the track. but come on. i'm listening to Missy Elliott on a Missy Elliott album. i know who you are. and honestly i have to drop it to a 3/5 for that cause it took up too much of my time and didn't even flow well enough into the song that i could just ignore it. *they are so far not negative dated
Liquid Swords - i really don't like long skit openings. this is very slow flow but it flows incredibly well. (4/5 the opening was forgiven) Duel of the Iron Mic - okay, this is incredible. the word choices are insane but it doesn't break. this is fucking skill. (5/5 this is how you incorporate skits into the music) Living in the World Today - i'm honestly kinda speechless every time he just goes. (5/5) Gold - on the slow side. still good flow (4/5 kinda lost me a little but i trust this album will pick up) Cold World - told you so. chill beat but good precise rhymes that strike. its just good. (5/5 the lyrics got interesting in the last half.) Label - very interesting. good beats every time (5/5) 4th Chamber - my boy Jesus? (5/5) Shadowboxin' - another slower one. a good break, the beats are too good. (5/5) H.W.S/K.H 10304 - a little long on the opening again. (3/5 i feel bad for not vibing with this one) Investigative Reports - 5/5 Swordsman - i just keep getting blown away 5/5 I Gotcha Back - man hard hitter. 5/5 B.I.B.L.E - good outro for this album so far. 5/5 i have to give this album a 5/5 for the average. it dropped a little near the end for me, but it always picked back up. so i actually enjoyed the whole album.
Lively Up Yourself - i dabbled in reggae at one point in my life, this is very stereotypical reggae so far. like when people think reggae and Bob Marley, this is what they imagine. (3/5 reggae isn't completely for me. i'm more of a ska type) No Woman No Cry - no bbygrl dont cry ur ass is so fat. wow what a vibe change. love the organ. (4/5 i am starting to vibe to it though. it's very "bob your head and chill") Them Belly Full - interesting that a lot of these song titles are in a pidgin language. okay i was waiting for the activist kind of thing to come out. (4/5 a hungry mob is an angry mob) Rebel Music - alright lay it on me. okay different kind of rebel than what i expected. sus me out? 1974? (4/5 got no birth cerfiticket on me mr cop (:< ) So Jah S'eh - it's kinda sad to know that a lot of the people i've met in my life that like reggae, like the surface level "ahaha lets get high and listen to this on the beach." when the guy that made reggae popular was singing about stuff like this. (5/5 very good song) Natty Dread - good vibe song (5/5 very just chill) Bend Down Low - another "imagine reggae" song. this is a little faster than i feel a stereotypical reggae song might be, but i like the high energy. (5/5 i want to assume The Wailers are great back vocals) Talking' Blues - i'm fucking sorry what to a church cause why? (4/5 funny lyric threw me) Revolution - yeah slimy politicians (5/5 good outro too) Am-A-Do - your bad self (3/5 not the best song to end on but that's okay) so, i am only going to give this album a 4/5. i feel like a lot of the songs are pretty good and a vibe, i just don't necessarily like reggae. something tells me that there is probably a better Bob Marley & The Wailers album that better represents them.
W.T.L.O.L - i am going to be honest, with what i know about Elvis, i am not going to be enjoying any of this shit. (5/5 the only lyric that got me "Baby, if you ever loved me/ Then Bonnie and Clyde loved the law" that is exactly how i feel about you presley) Only the Strong Survive - god i hate his fucking voice. my guy really just had so much stored in his balls this is all he fucking sings about. (2/5 okay fine moving forward i'll be more neutral) I.H.Y.I.M.H - give me one more fucking FOB ass title. i do not vibe with the slow love song blues thing. it kinda comes off whiny. (3/5 the lyrics are cute) Long Black Limousine - i feel like i am listening to a mix of gospel, blues, and christmas music. i'm going to be honest i like check out until I'm Movin' On. i do not think i have missed anything. anyway from what i heard tlhe past two songs are 2/5. it's all the same "please love me" bullshit. DOES HE WANT TO BONE A BITCH OR NOT? Power of My Love - wow this opening fucks. there's no way this is his original song. i'm shocked. it might actually be his own song. however, why the fuck are the lyrics like this. he's over it, he will have sex with you whether you like it or not. (2/5 i talked myself away from complimenting the opening. this is getting redundant) Gentle On My Mind - is this going to be a fucking love song? the thing that i hate, there are certain line deliveries that are actually really good. but then the song keeps going. (2/5 i am so close to giving up satan give me strength) After Loving You - i also love when someone admits that if they are with someone they only think about the last person. (1/5 just straight up admits he thinks about someone else in bed) T.L.T.O.G.R - we'll stay together but after loving you i will never be able to look at the person in front of me and not think of you. i get that what artists sing about is not a one-to-one of their lives. but good fucking god please sing about a horse. or. rain. literally anything else for at least 10 minutes. (1/5) okay not to quote fucking Eminem, but man those are two of the most popular white men that really did make a fuck ton off of black people. In all seriousness, I listened to the ENTIRE Bitche's Brew album and I for the fucking death of me cannot get through this fucking album. I feel like I'm listening to the beatles. If anyone has read this far, please go listen to Orville Peck instead. "Elvis didn't die he just went home." Wrong. He and I have both died and this is the Hell that I am forced to live in.
Intro/Break & Enter - this is made for the Matrix if it also took place in the Bomberman 64 soundtrack. (5/5 i like the kind of 90s House Electronic thing) Their Law - oh wow these tracks stay pretty long huh. damn okay i unironically fuck with this. (5/5 the shredding?) Full Throttle - this is the same fucking song that the one guy did "Fuck You I'm Late" or whatever. this fucks (5/5 it's like video game music) Voodoo People - holy shit i had never heard that outside of the tiktok trend. that was so jarring. (5/5 it still fucks) Speedway - a little repetitive but a light bop. (4/5) The Heat - this actually feels like an uncanny dream that is strange but doesn't freak you out enough to be a nightmare. (5/5 it sounds like Miku is on the beat) Poison - so far the strangest song of the bunch. the sharp drum beat is very Clubbed to Death on the Matrix soundtrack. (4/5) No Good - very warpled so far. i had to check and see if they were connected to the Matrix. some of the techniques feel the exact same. (4/5) One Love - this is a weird alternate universes' version of Mario Kart songs. (5/5 this fucks) 3 Kilos - i think this album is gonna get a 5/5. 90s electronic was so fun. (5/5) Skylined - not my favorite song so far. (3/5 kinda disappointed) Claustrophic Sting - i feel like i've heard this song before. (5/5 never heard of this song) i love this y2k/90s electronic vibe. i really enjoyed this. 5/5
Tiny Dancer - one of the most popular Elton John songs. (3/5 not my favorite Elton John song. it feels like classic Elton though so it's not bad) Levon - a slower song. i feel like Elton John just has this Bon Jovi sound that mixes country with the performative piano pop and it sounds good. (3/5 the issue is it is not for me. Go to Venus to get more Penus) Razor Face - this has a bit more of that blues sound. still a slow song [(3/5 i feel really bad cause this is not the Elton John i enjoy but i like Elton John) jk 4/5 for the accordion solo?] Madman Across the Water - it's that slow country rock sound. it includes some of that grandness that he brings (4/5 i like this one a bit more) Indian Sunset - a good song but nothing crazy (3/5) Holiday Inn - i think that's a sitar? (4/5 giving the instrumental from Virus Alert by Weird Al) Rotten Peaches - a plinky upbeat piano tavern song (3/5 this is what makes it not for me) All the Nasties - i don't think i like this either. (2/5 glad when it ended) Goodbye - it's an outro :) (3/5) my favorite song is I'm Still Standing because i'm gay or something. this is a good album but it doesn't match my taste, which is 80s Elton John i guess. but to be fair to it being a good album 4/5 woo.
White Christmas - i don't do christmas music at all but i think it's funny i'm listening to this 4 days late on top of it. (3/5 not my favorite christmas song) Frosty the Snowman - i really don't like this christmas song. man i'm in hell with these albums again. (1/5 i hate this song actually. i hate this side of 60s "groovy music") The Bells of St. Mary - my "ex-"catholic partner loves this song. time to see if this version fucks. (3/5 i don't think i can vibe with christmas music) S.C.I.C.T - the one thing i do appreciate, christmas songs tend to be pretty short. (4/5 okay i like this version with all the brass) Sleigh Ride - the retail version! (1/5 flashbacks honestly) A Marshmallow World - eh (3/5 it's not bad but i don't like it. it's not so CHRISTMAS about itself) I.S.M.K.S.C - i just don't like this sound. i think it's why i can't listen to Amy Winehouse. (2/5 probably the better version of this song that i've heard) R.R-N.R - oh i hate this so much (1/5 i never really cared for this one either) Winter Wonderland - i can finally type out the entire title. i'm surprised i have not heard this version in retail. (4/5 i would have listened to this at my grandparent's house and been okay with it) P.O.T.W.S - prisoners of the war santa something something. (2/5 i'm glad i've never heard this before. wish i could go back) Christmas - i don't care for the longing christmas songs either. (2/5 it sounded okay, but i hate the lyrics) Here Comes Santa Clause - :| (2/5 i don't like this song either god damn it. i didn't listen to the lyrics before. that was awful) Silent Night - oh bad bad bad bad. okay so i hate christmas music. i didn't realize how much i didn't like it. wow how awful. anway bringing the stats down 2/5
