UB40i love two tone and ska but never listened to this record, crazy how different this is from their later hits highlights for me - a killer randy newman cover and the 13 min song bitching out maggie thatcher

malcolm mclaren is a poseur
really fun record w a cool mix of styles turning comfortably numb into a disco banger is a feat of science
wild that this came out in the 90s when they’re so clearly trying to sonically emulate the 60s/70s rock dudes that being said many bangers and i f w it
an all time classic for me darkly manic bangers for the ages
i found this album mostly okay somewhat annoying
finally some polly jean !!! i’m an unabashed stan i love this album - beautiful intense lyricism and interesting instrumentation i think PJ is one of the coolest songwriters out there, it’s remarkable to take a rly alienating concept and make something compelling and accessible like this i also think it’s exciting that later in her career she did something that was such a departure from her earlier work and still made an album that is true to her identity as an artist i love you polly 😍😍😍😍
lots of filler but some bops, grew up w this record around a lot so will give it some nostalgia points
a mixed bag ! some beautiful songs and then also the song coconut is on it
a beautiful perfect album david rawlings guitar is transcendent!!
jack white at his most obnoxious - unlike white blood cells no bangers to be found + i felt some of the ~instrumentation experimentation~ to be tedious
i think aimee is rly cool but the songwriting on this record didn’t hit for me! i like some of her other songs but these felt a bit basic
i love this record !! fun inventive production, some of the best wutang member verses in the books
honest and true bangers
amazing record!! i loved the ambient tracks
radiohead’s most beautiful record ! lovely arrangements by jonny on reckoner
made me irate
when i heard dookie as a 6 year old it changed my brain, as is true for every san diego proto dirtbag. this album has some really catchy songs that i still stand by and i do think it’s green day’s peak, it’s raw and sometimes not in a good way
liked the vibes of this album a lot, cool instrumentation and fun genre mixing
this is THE album to hear before you die like i want Hejira to be what i am hearing as my soul shuffles off this mortal coil beautiful hypnotic melodies & swirling sprawled lyricism jaco’s harmonics also had me Weak obligatory : furry sings the blues? you mean twin fantasy?
really awesome record , i love the production and the lyricism
a bongo-forward cover album … what are we doing here? it was fine.. mad at the guy who made this list rn
one of his masterpieces ! as always in awe of dylan’s ability to ground the abstract in his lyricism
this album fucking rocks!!!! a new all timer for me .. so many amazing guitar riffs can feel an obsession mounting
not for me! found the lyrics grating and juvenile (cringe rhyming, making me reconsidering my songwriting) + the melodies uninteresting the guitar solos also felt very rudimentary and not melodic like any teen could rip em there are a couple good songs though (this is the end is an awesome song)
totally mind blowing record to me, incredible songwriting that perfectly balances pop accessibility with remarkable sublime guitar playing
beautiful, moving album
so annoyinggg
can’t say i listened to the whole thing but there are so many catchy little tunes that remind me of being a 13 yr old with a ukulele twee will always be famous
i love this album & the soundscapes, i think it’s nicely cohesive and feels like an intentionally crafted experience but i think some of the songwriting is a little boring
beautiful, sorrowful and if we’re being honest often catchy!! obviously i love his lyricism, a lot of these songs feel like odes or elegies
really fun and whimsical !!
unbelievable bop ratio on this record
some of the dylanest dylan going, front half are some of the best songs ever and back half are pretty good
i love this album!! trip hop is so sexy and cool
fun, high energy & good live recording
i didn’t finish it but it wasn’t doing it for me! feels like something that could be cool but just ended up cheesy a lesson in more isn’t always better
