Janis Joplin is vastly overrated as a vocalist. Also, Fork this forkin album art.
4/10
This was a fun latin/ hip hop fusion album and featured a song I had forgotten about from my childhood. Not a genre I would seek out, but I can tell they are among the best at what they do.
6/10
Classic, influential, deserving of this list.
Fantastic Folk album. Classic voice, though, after half an album wears on you a bit. I did not dig her cover of HoTRS. Absolutely a timeless folk artist and album.
Been a while Anthrax... Not since the infancy of my Metallica fandom have I revisited any of your records. For once, it was me, not Tred, who struggled with the production. My ears have grown so used to excellent metal production, that hearing a thrash metal album from this era made me pine for days when I simply enjoyed angry man making sounds. Slightly inferior to Metallicas thrash albums of the same era, but I respect this band. Also, Indians is a less awesome Run To The Hills, thematically.
Arguably the best album by one of the greatest rock bands of all time. It was interesting learning that this was essentially half if a discarded concept album called Lifehouse, mixed with one off songs. A revolutionary of an arpeggiating synthesizer. Perhaps above all, Pete Townsend was masterful on this album.
Merpin dangbot do merdup. Ianopter loosentia gamoboot. crangdip!
This album is dope. Pretty incredible debut record, with PJ's vintage laissez-faire attitude all over it. I could never put my finger on who her influences were, but in her vocal style I hear a combination of the syncopation bjork often has, and the melodies of Robert Smith. All wrapped nicely in a grunge era tone.
I personally prefer some of her later records, specifically "Stories From The City..." but it was fun going back to this, been a few years.
This album simultaneously sounds like its from the 60s and the early 80s all at the same time. Hippie rock with some truly silly lyrics and catchy hooks. Fun all the way through. Also, not many people know this, but Robyn Hitchcock was a founding member of the Beetles. To this day he remains their most famous member.
An important artist to the evolution of AAA radio pop. A little surprised this album is on this list. Not as strong as her debut. It does feature her strongest song, Green Light, however.
I have only really ever heard Love Will Tear Us Apart, and have only dabbled into this era of post punk brit rock a couple of times. I was excited to finally dig into the band that is so highly respected as a predecesser of The Cure and The Smiths, two bands I love, and was saddened to learn about why they only had one album. This album had a certain undeniable haunting vibe, but I just couldn't get as into it as I thought I would. No disrespect to their singer, whos story is tragic, but I think it was the vocals that made it sort of droll or inaccessible to me. Surprised I didn't love it considering who they've been associated with when people tell me they're fans.

Prepare to have your tits rocked off. One of my favorite albums of all time. Nostalgic for me on too many levels. Grew up listening to this vinyl, that I'm currently listening to with my Dad, a hundred times. Was in a Rush tribute band and used to know how to play this entire album. A staggeringly powerful epic of progressive rock that has influenced hundreds of bands and musicians. Long live Rush.
Cash is a legend and this performance was so cool. Hearing the banter between him and the prison crowd put me in the setting. San Quentin was a badass ass song to sign in front of actual prisoners and guards in San Quentin prison. I’ll be grabbing this on vinyl next time I see it.
Found a new band I dig. Experienced in Oasis and Blur, and I liked this a bit more. Going to explore the rest or their discography. Very much influenced by Robert Smith, Bowie, The Smiths... Cool stuff.
Dig. Dag. Dug. Punky Reggae, influenced bands. Why do many word when less word do trick.
Nah fam.
One of the smoothest, greatest vocalists of all time. Exceptional soul/r&b songwriting, with some era defining lyrics that paved the way for social justice anthems in all genres. I read Motown sat on "Whats Goin On" for months because it wasn't a love song and they didn't understand it. Marvin threatened to leave the label if they didn't release it. Once they did, and it exploded, it paved the way for artists like Stevie Wonder to write with complete artistic freedom. Legendary.
Solid band, solid album. Never gotten too excited over Coldplay.
Lanagen is the shit. Solid rock album.
English-French vibey goodness. Merry Christmas.

Man this album was a lot better when I was in 6th grade and didn't know what the words meant. This is pretty trash besides some excellent beats.

Hell yeah, Pavement.
Honenstly incredible, and I'm stoked I finally listened to this album. Must needs to have it one day.
This album has Photograph on it. Thats a perfect song.
groovin, boppin, and I'm not sure how they did it...but its also jimblin.
I loved this album and would never ever say anything remotely bad about it cuz its Treds favorite album of all time.
These guys went to Waukesha North High School, which is right where I grew up. I went to West, as I wasn't in a legendary band, and thus couldn't attend Waukesha North High School.
More like Sire Dtraits am I right?
More like Mepeche Dode amiryt?
this is a friggin vibe and a half. Definitely found a new album to add to my focus music playlist.
this entered my ears through the headphones I was wearing.
First track was a vibe, and then the rest of the album turned into elevator music.
