That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Jan 08 2024

Shining Star- Vocal techniques are fun and interesting, horns are awesome and guitar + bass dance together nicely That's the Way of the World- Keys and Bass, slower and soulful, supporting vocal parts make this Happy Feelin- Bass takes lead on this, drives the whole piece forward, percussion is more interesting too with hand drums and marimba, guitar doing accompanying chords, vocals are uninteresting in this in my opinion All About Love- Slower, ballad with more energetic horn sections, verses aren't extremely instrumentally interesting but vocals are enough to make it tender and heartfelt, I like the spoken section with backing horns and vocals. Last minute is just kind of weird Yearnin Learnin- I love the keys, bass, and horns on this, and the vocals are the highlight. They ooze cool and I love the vocal melodies, fills, and adlibs. "Stop! Look what's behind you!" This song goes crazy hard Reasons- This one didn't really grab me- I don't find the melody to be catchy, and the horns and bass sound like they're plodding along. Not a fan Africano- Amazing bass, backing horns, and lead horns. This is an awesome groove See The Light- Bassline, and the swap to bossa nova "help them see the light" goes so crazy. Synth also goes nuts

Ace of Spades by Motörhead
Jan 14 2024

Really liked hearing what sounds like generic/universal guitar lines now in their original context, and used in pretty interesting ways
