Come Away With Me
Norah JonesThis is a great album. This is the album that pushed me into listening to more jazz which I now love to play while I'm knee deep into working. Such a silky smooth voice. Also, I named my daughter after her :)

I was slightly familiar with this one going in. An overall solid album. Not something I would listen to over and over but would toss it on time to time. Outside of the hit "Time of the Season", "Butcher's Tale (Western Front 1914)" was the tack I enjoyed most.
Very familiar with this album going in. Probably my favorite by Billy. Top to bottom, every song on here is great. I have this one on regular rotation.
A good album from my favorite Elvis era. I was not familiar with this one going in but knew many of the songs. I would probably listen to it again at some point down the road.
Oh boy! I consider myself a metal head and Iron Maiden is one of my favorites. I was very happy to see this one pop up. I prefer the albums with Bruce but appreciate the rawness of the first two and as a bass player, "Phantom of the Opera" pushes all my buttons.
I did not know anything on this album or artist going in. I was pleasantly surprised here. They touch on a lot of different sounds on this album. "Burning" and "In Reverse" stood out for me as well as "Red Eyes". This is a great one for playing in the background while I'm working. I will definitely give this another listen.
Very familiar with this one. I don't think I ever listened to this one all the way through but I've heard most of these songs. "Camera Eye" and "Witch Hunt" are the only two I didn't know.
I may have heard of Joe before this but not 100% sure. Certainly didn't know this album or any of the song except "Fingernails" which I heard covered by Marcia Ball. Not too bad of an album. However, I doubt it will make my regular rotation.
I'll admit I wasn't to excited to see this one pop up as it's not really a genre I typically listen to but its a solid album. If I was streaming an R&B station or playlist, I wouldn't skip any track from this album. Note: This is not on Spotify. I had to use Amazon Prime.
Oh yeah! It's been a long time since I listened to this album all the way through but I regularly listen to the 5-6 hits on here. "Thug" is really the only song on here that I would never play again.
One of their better albums but I feel there a lot of filler on here to make it a double album. It is not one that I listen to all the way through but there's plenty of songs I listen to frequently.
Whooo! Big Megadeth fan here. I was so happy to see this one pop up. In my opinion, this is the band at their best. A lot of bangers on here and "Tornado Of Souls" is one of my favorite metal songs of all time.
A nice solid album. I've listened to several of these songs but this was the first time I listened to the album all the way through. Stand outs for me are "I'm In Love With My Car", "You're My Best Friend", "'39" and of course "Bohemian Rhapsody".
Booker T. & The MG's are the backbone of the Memphis sound. Donald "Duck" Dunn in one of my main influences as a bass player. With that said, I prefer them as a backing band for a great singer than as a solo act. This is a good album and worth a listen every now and then as background music but I wouldn't put it up there as one of my favorites for the genre.
I know absolutely nothing about this album or group going in. I understand the talent in this group and I did give it a good honest listen but this just isn't my thing.
I have heard of this before but never listened to it all the way through. I a good album and worthy of another listen. I listened to this on Spotify and once it was done, it began a day o random 60's psychedelic music that I enjoyed for the remainder of the day.
This album was a juggernaut. I think I've bought this 3-4 times in my life in various formats. There is very little filler on here.
This is my favorite album by The Doors. A lot of different vibes on here but all good.
I knew nothing going in on this one. Very art rock and experimental. It's not really my thing but makes for good background music.
I knew nothing of the artist or album going in but after looking him up, I know I've heard him play on the Miles Davis live albums. This is not an album I would seek out to play regularly but I would throw it on as background music now an then.
I never listened to this album straight through but was certainly familiar with it due to my clubbing days back in the late 90's. "Narayan" and "Climbatize". were a couple of standouts besides the hits that I forgot about. Overall, it's an OK album for what it is but I would not listen to it all the was through again.
Great album! Never listened to it all the way through but I was familiar with most of the songs on here.
I wasn't looking forward going into this one as I'm not really a Lou Reed fan. I will say after listening to this that it was not as bad as I thought it would be and will likely run through it again sometime soon. It began to grow on me starting after "Walk On the Wild Side". Especially the quirkiness of the songs on the 2nd half of the album.
I wasn't very familiar going into this album. "Wild World" was the only song I knew. It's a lovely album to have on as background music but not one that I would revisit often.
I was slightly familiar with this group going in but never listened to anything on this album before. I was a great listen for an early (5am) Saturday morning. I would certainly put this on again.
I had no idea what this was when I saw it then it started playing and I went "Oh, I do know this!" This album definitely came out of left field for me. It's a great listen for background music but I don't believe that I would listen to it again.
This is a great album. This is the album that pushed me into listening to more jazz which I now love to play while I'm knee deep into working. Such a silky smooth voice. Also, I named my daughter after her :)
This is probably the album that I'm the least familiar with. "Life During Wartime" is the only song I really know. It a great record overall but not my favorite. "Memories Can't Wait" and "Heaven" are two other songs that really standout for me.
I like the Kinks but wasn't very familiar with this one. I think I'd have to give it another listen to see how I really like it.
I'm familiar with Cohen but I've never listened to him before. The reason is that I'm not a big fan of his is the voice and delivery. This is not something that I would listen to again.
Never listened to this one all the way through but was familiar with several of the songs. It's an OK album but not their best effort.
I've listened to this a few times. Still prefer the Folsom album. He sounds a little rough on this recording but the band is on fire during this performance. Well worthy of a listen.
I knew nothing about this album or group going in. It was definitely out of leftfield compared to what I normally listen to. Getting someone like me to listen to an album like this is specifically what the one album a day generator was created for. I loved this album and would've never discovered it otherwise. I will certainly give it another listen.
This will jump out punch you in the face. I consider it one of the best metal albums of the 90's. This is a must listen for anyone.
I didn't get on board with The Clash until "Combat Rock". I've never gone back to explore there other albums. Not sure why, just stuck with the hits. This one was OK. Nothing to exciting for me.
I've listened to this a lot over the years but it's been awhile. It was nice to revisit after such a long hiatus. There's no question this is solid all the way through. It's a must listen for anyone regardless of what your favorite genre is.
Here's another group I knew nothing about going in. I typically listen to these albums first thing in the morning while I'm working. This one was a perfect background music for an early Saturday morning work session. I was pleasantly surprised how much I like it. I loved how each track flowed into the next. Definitely worthy of another listen.
I'm familiar with this group but mostly their work from the later 80's. I enjoyed this album. It was interesting to going back to the beginning and seeing where their sound that I was familiar with evolved from. Standouts on this were " Pride", "The Pictures on My Wall".
Another one that I knew nothing about going in. It was OK to listen to as background noise and better than I thought it was going to be when I first started it but I don't think I would play it again.
I've never listened to this before by I am familiar with Ms. Vaughan. Her silky smooth voice is like butter on a hot roll. I've only recently become a jazz fan over the last few years. This particular recording really transports you back to what the late 50's Chicago jazz scene must've been like. I'll certainly mark this one for regular listening.
I was only familiar with Primal Scream through their hit "Rocks". I was not a big fan of this album. To me, it sounds like a band that had way to much studio time on their hands. There were bits and pieces that I liked on here but nothing that interested me enough to listen to this again.
Another unknown artist and album for me. My expectations were not high but I try not to judge a book by the cover. Although this has a few moments that I like and I didn't mind just having it on as background noise while working, it's not something I'll revisit again.
I know this album is highly regarded among the fans but I'm not really a big Radiohead fan so this one really didn't do it for me.
While its not my favorite Zeppelin album, it certainly one that I listen to often. I feel that is is the album where the group started to hone their writing skills and explore new territory. Led Zeppelin III and IV are to the group as Revolver and Sgt. Peppers are to the Beatles.
Overall this is a good album but not one that I would listen to regularly. There a good mix of blues, folk and jazz influence on here. I prefer the tracks sung by Winwood over those sung by Mason.
Sam Cooke is my favorite soul singer. However, I've never listened to the album before today. This recording is the Sam Cooke that I love. The raw, road worn version playing in front of an audience that just adores him. He is on fire here. This a must listen for anyone regardless of what genres you like.
Trippy and experimental is what I would say about this album and I mean that in a good way. I'm a huge pink Floyd fan but this is not one of their albums I visit much. It's a little to our there for me but when I do listen to it, I always wonder how this band would've evolved had Syd been a part of it.
I'm sure I heard these songs before I saw the movie but I specifically remember seeing the movie when I was 11 or 12 and it was then I realized an album can be much more that just a collection of music. It was my first introduction to a concept record and I've been enjoying them ever since.
This album was my introduction to punk as it was for many others. I absolutely love this record. So raw and pure. I feel this is the album that crushed AOR rock similar to what "Nevermind" did for hair metal. Truly an album that altered the course of rock.
"Hurt" and "Personal Jesus" the highlights here but outside of those it seems like Rubin was trying to squeeze anything he could of of Cash's last few days on this planet. It's still worthy of a listen when your in the right mood.
