Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
May 20 2024

Such a different album when it first came out. Starts out really strong. I do think that it ends kind of weak. Her voice and persona are so unique. It really is a shame that she passed away so young. I think she really could have made some great music.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
May 21 2024

It was fine. Not really my thing.

May 22 2024

I may have to listen to this again. I really like Mingus, but felt that this was too far out there. Though there were parts that I really liked. Did not think it was the masterpiece that everyone else does. 3 stars for now.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
May 23 2024

It was a lot poppyer than I remember. Still a classic album with a ton of great songs. Amazing that she was able to write like that at such a young age. Excellent album.

Parklife by Blur
May 28 2024

It was fine. Not my thing at all.

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
May 29 2024

I didn't even make it through the first song. Not for me.

Back In Black by AC/DC
May 30 2024

Great album! Every song is a banger. There's been so much said about this album already that I don't need to say anything else.

Mott by Mott The Hoople
May 31 2024

It's fine. Sounds like a lot of albums from the era. Nothing really stood out to me. I found the lead singer's voice grating.

Reign In Blood by Slayer
Jun 03 2024

Not a fan. I can appreciate the technique required to play this fast, but it really just sound like noise. Everything just blends together for me.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Jun 07 2024

It's fine. I understand the appeal and the innovation, but I've never really enjoyed Van Halen, and this time was no different. I think part of it is that I really don't like Dave as a singer. EVH is amazing technically, but it seems kind of lifeless to me. No soul. No emotion. Just really fast playing.

American Idiot by Green Day
Jun 08 2024

Holy shit! It's been a while since I listened to the entire album, and I forgot how good it is. The same guys that sung about masturbation and were known for being able to play 3 chords put together one of the defining albums of the early 2000's. It's poignant and topical. It's also catchy as hell. I was able to sing along to almost every song on the album. I don't think there is a bad song on this entire album.

Jun 09 2024

Mostly trash. The two singles from the album are mostly OK (maybe because I've heard them so much), but the rest is not good. Very derivative. Very angry for what seems like no reason.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Jun 11 2024

It's Michael Jackson. What else needs to be said. I don't think that it has aged particularly well. 80's pop, with all the electronics and Jacksonisms that you would expect. The singles from the albums are still really good (Bad, Man in the Mirror, Smooth Criminal), but the rest just don't seem to do much for me.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jun 15 2024

I don't hate it. There are some classics. But there are also some tracks that just don't hold up. It's better than Bad.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jun 22 2024

It's the Beatles. It's Abbey Road. It's not my favorite Beatles album (that would be Let It Be...Naked), but it is a great album. There has been so much written about the Beatles, and this album that anything that I would say would be extraneous.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 24 2024

It's a beautiful album. A classic.

Tommy by The Who
Jul 03 2024
With The Beatles by Beatles
Jul 13 2024

It's a great album. So many catchy sounds. Early Beatles.

The White Album by Beatles
Jul 30 2024

It's the White Album. What more needs to be said.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Aug 08 2024

Wait....people like this? This horrible. It was grating. I can't believe people would listen to this willingly.

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Aug 10 2024

It's good. Straight-ahead rock/ pop. The voice is a little whiney for my taste. It's not a world-shattering as I thought it would be.

Raw Like Sushi by Neneh Cherry
Aug 11 2024

It is very 1989. And not in a good way.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Aug 14 2024
B-52's by The B-52's
Aug 15 2024

Not really for me.

Achtung Baby by U2
Aug 19 2024

Other than the singles, I was bored by this album. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

Aug 27 2024

I love this album! I've listened to it more times than I can count. It is one of, the best hip-hop albums of all time, and also one of the most influential of all time. The fact that these 9 kids from Staten Island were able to put out this music that sounds so cohesive is incredible. The lyrics, while I admit are a bit misogynistic and vulgar, are still some of the best. They were rapping about what they knew, and what they knew and grew up with was not pretty. I'm dinging it one star because I don't think that the skits all work that well. But other than that, it is a nearly flawless album.

American Beauty by Grateful Dead
Sep 01 2024

There are some really good songs on the album. I know the Dead are not for everyone. I also know that the Dead are more of an experience than a band. I don't know if this is something that I would listen to all the time though.

Sep 05 2024

This was the first time I had listened to the whole album. I had heard Nothing Compares 2U countless times. Honestly, that song almost feels out of place on the rest of the album. It was good. But not as mind blowing as I expected. I may have to give it another go.

Sep 09 2024

There's a reason it's the best selling album of all time. It's perfect.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Sep 25 2024

It sounds a little more dated than some of the later Beatles albums, but is still a banger.

Dookie by Green Day
Sep 28 2024

Great 90's pop punk.

The Renaissance by Q-Tip
Oct 09 2024

I really liked this. Q-Tip is one of the most unique voices in hip hop. He's a legend for a reason.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Oct 11 2024

What an opener! One of the best opening tracks to a first album ever (maybe eclipsed by Hendrix).

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Oct 12 2024

This is one band that felt fully formed from the first note on their first album. Everything that makes the Talking Heads the Talking Heads is there. It's a good but not great album. But you can definitely see where they were going.

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Oct 19 2024

It's a good album. It did feel a little repetitive though. I can understand what they were going for, but not as much a fan of the "cool" jazz.
