The Joshua Tree
U2I've always liked this album and it is on my vinyl wanted list. With or without still my favorite track.

Good album. Forgot how much I liked Doorbell and Denial Twist. Hadn't listened to them since mid-2000s.
Solid and on my vinyl wanted list.
I was only familiar with Criminal on the album. I like some aspects of album, but I'm not a huge fan of Fiona's vocals. During this time (1996) I much preferred Alanis, Beck, Fugees, and Rage. In singer songwriter genre at the time, I preferred Sheryl Crow. Is Fiona more talented? Not sure, and I don't listen to Fiona or Sheryl regularly any more. That said, I'm glad I listened to Tidal in its entirety. Some good, "new to me" music.
Love Blondie! And love this album. I would own it on vinyl if I didn't already have Best of Blondie. Favorites are the normies- One Way and Heart of Glass.
Pretty good album. Solsbury Hill is such a good song. The rest of the tracks are unique and surprising. You would never know they are from the same album, but I like the variety.
Not a fan. These guys were on something strong when they decided this was an album ready to go. How did it go #1 in UK?
I was familiar with the album, but hadn't listened to it start to finish. Glad I did. Found some really great surprises, like Space Invader and The Wait. I've always liked Brass in Pocket. Makes me want to listen to other Pretenders albums.
Strikes me as movie soundtrack music that works really hard to create a vibe, but the vibe is not something I would seek out. Peach Trees is relaxing, but the album overall has a hint of depression that I don't like. There are other albums with a depressing tone that I like better. Still, I had never heard the album but I'm glad I have now.
I could tell in the first 30 seconds of track 1 that I was going to love this album. I listen to this kind of electronic music while I work, so I'm always listening to bands like RJD2, Abakus, Aphex Twin, and Little People. I can't believe I've never heard this band. Love it and will be on rotation often.
Great debut album, and kept getting better. I didn't realize Timbaland produced. Enjoyed listening start to finish.
The giant with shoulders strong enough to support so many artists. Not my go-to when listening to background music, but such an amazing album.
Wasn't in the mood for this brooding style today. Will come back and listen later. What I heard was decent, but not enough to draw me in for the rest of the album.
Enjoyed listening to the album start to finish. Some really great music in the shadow of one of the best album opening songs in the history of music.
One of the best albums ever recorded.
I had never heard any songs on this album, but I typically like alt country and this was no different. Enjoyed listening.
Half way through the album and it just isn't something I would put on my home speakers for background. I like a lot of hip-hop but this isn't an album that clicks for me. I also listened to SOS and find I like that album quite a bit more.
I like the opening songs, strong start out of the gate.
Love the bluesy feel and the guitar work between Eric and Duane Allman is just so good.
Cool industrial sound for 1980; Completely unknown to me and probably would have listened to them in the 90s
Starts off strong with title track. A national treasure.
Recording sessions were described as a 'cocaine blizzard' lol Maybe I'm too basic, but I prefer Rumours any day of the week. I appreciate they were going for experimental, but not all experiments work out.
Decent album. Thought I would like it more start to finish.
Never heard a song from this album, but I enjoyed it. This is a good example of why I wanted to listen to each of these albums- for discovery. That said, the instrument tracks sound better than the vocals, in terms of clean recording. I'm not sure if this was a design decision or faults in the studio. The more I listened, the more I wanted to listen to just the instruments while filtering vocals out. The warble/vibrato on such chill songs drives me crazy.
I heard New Order before I heard Joy Division. I preferred New Order and had a tough time understanding the appeal of Joy Division until very recently. It took a video from Henry Rollins on his vinyl collection talking about Unknown Pleasures for me to give it another chance. I guess I've changed in musical tastes because I'm starting to get it now. The album was competing with Off The Wall, The Wall, London Calliing, and Breakfast in America. Easy for me to draw the line from this album to what would become alt.
The birth of hip-hop was so cheesy, and fantastic. Laid the groundwork for some amazing artists.
Rarely listen to the band but I enjoyed hearing this album for the first time.
Sultans is sublime. Guitar on this album is just so satisfying. Timeless.
Can't believe I have never heard this album. So good. Will add to my vinyl collection.
Like the music and enjoy funk, but I just don't have it on regular rotation.
