1001 Albums Summary

I'm saving the 4's in case Diver Down or Fair Warning show up on this list. Would do 3 1/2 if possible. But cant go 4 on this one

It's okay, Heroin is interesting. Nothing bad, but I guess it's just not my thing. 2 seems unfair, so I'll give it a 3

Easy 5 The first 3 CD's I ever bought were this, Vitalogy, and Get a Grip. Haven't gone back to listen to this in a long time. Putting it back into rotation

I knew some of the songs, but I'd never listened to this album before. It was great, going with a 5

went into this one a little skeptical. Enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Already familiar with the singles, but was impressed how well the whole album comes together. No filler to pad out the hits, just solid music.

feels like watching a Portlandia sketch, but without a punchline. worse than Wilco

I'm curious to see how others rate this one. One of my favorites so far. It's like David Lynch and Trent Reznor made a record, produced by Richard D James with just a pinch of Brian Eno

it's ok, I behind on rating these. I'm going to knock out a bunch that I dont really have much to say about. All going to be 3's

Went back and listened a second time, gonna bump this rating up to a 4

some sweet slow jams from the Duke of New York

'Up on Cripple Creek' was a high point overall, pretty good

I love the story of the kid who taped the singles off the radio, convinced his mom to ignore the parental advisory, then learned the radio tracks were edits when we popped the new tape in on the car ride home. Family fun for all ages

Don't have much to say on this one. Liked it, but wouldn't look for it again.

treatment protocol for a bad acid trip: Listen to this with the curtains drawn and the lights off Also a good choice to come back from a bad day. Calm and relaxing.

I know this sounds weird but I've been listening to that Barry Adamson's Moss Side Story over and over again. I get that most people didnt like it, but it's my new favorite. Oh yeah, Def Leppard is fine

solid 90's rock

not as good as Cosmo's Factory

I'm a huge New Order (and Joy Division fan), Vanishing Point and Dream Attack are some of their best. But this album doesn't really come together like some of their others, so it gets a 4. Power, Corruption, and Lies will get a 5 when it comes up

I still listen to this one regularly, glad it's on the list. Only getting a 4 because like most 90's rap, too many stupid skits.

rating kept going up the longer I listened to this. Giving it a 4, would listen to this again on purpose.

10 STARS, welcome to the human race

well produced but still kind of boring after a few tracks.

This is one of my all time favorite albums, sets the stage for all the New Order, Cure, The Church, and Pet Shop Boys to come. Pre-new-wave but post-punk, this album is new life crawling out of the musical primordial ooze.
