Legalize It by Peter Tosh

the songs that are actually about weed are pretty uniformly dated in a way that's funny sometimes but nowadays comes off like fodder for typical dorm room stoners. still worth listening to for the ones that aren't only about weed being cool, let jah be praised and till the well runs dry are both great. for ideal listening I recommend buying in and doing bong rips while making a bunch of vegetarian breakfast burritos to freeze like I did.

I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. definitely feels bloated in the second half and clocks and warning sign kinda suck. giving it a 3 because I probably won't ever listen to it again in full but I enjoyed my time with it, a whisper and god put a smile upon your face both rock.

Arrival by ABBA
Dec 12 2024

easy 5/5, this rules.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Dec 15 2024

in fairness to this album grunge just really isn't my thing, and two songs in I was pretty optimistic that this one would be different, not the case unfortunately. oceans > porch > garden is a very good run of songs and even flow is a classic, but I have a hard time getting what sets the rest of this thing apart from most of the early 2000s butt rock grunge successor bands that rightfully get clowned on.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire

I hadn't heard this one before but I enjoyed it very much, it reminded me of early wolf parade and their adjacent projects like operators, which I guess makes sense in retrospect since dan plays with these guys now. no cars go and black wave/bad vibrations were the highlights for me.

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison

great performances and mix, would listen again. wild children through bring it on home to me is a great run.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Jul 12 2025

setting aside kanye's politics and awful behavior (which you shouldn't), this album just isn't very good. frequent dated and unfunny jokes, bloated runtime, proto-Hamilton delivery, take your pick, this is just annoying to listen to.

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Jul 13 2025

this album has so many cool ideas packed into such a tight runtime that I can't give it less than a 5, just go listen to it. it's got stéphane grappelli on it for pete's sake.

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Jul 14 2025

loved it, if you like modern garage psych stuff like Osees or King Gizz you can't go wrong with this one.

Copper Blue by Sugar
Jul 16 2025

definitely worth listening to the extremely middling first half for the way more interesting second half, but I can't shake the feeling that this album is only on this list because it meant a lot to some music writer when they were in high school.

Supa Dupa Fly by Missy Elliott
Jul 17 2025

this thing is great hooks and fun production all the way down

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Jul 31 2025

it's good but probably won't think about it again, dunno that this warrants being on this list
