Kid A by Radiohead

I can appreciate how innovative this was for it's time, and enjoyed some of the electronic layering over the traditional rock instruments. Potentially wasn't in the mood as in general found it slightly too moody / slow, couldn't really get into it. Would be a 2.75 but rounded up to 3

Superunknown by Soundgarden

I found some of the sounds slightly boring - slightly too poppy maybe. However some huge tunes in Black hole sun and other. RIP Chris Cornell

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Apr 21 2025

Nostalgia gives this one a big fat 5 for me. This was one of my pre-rugby game go too's when I was younger. RIP Chester. One of my favourite live performances to watch online is Chester and Chris Cornell performing crawling. good friends who both committed suicide

All Directions by The Temptations

Real funky funky 🕺 A couple of bangers in pappa was a rolling stone and my namesake. Powerful story telling around racial equality etc

3.4 I thought I would enjoy this album on the whole more than I did, I consider myself a Bob Marley fan, but maybe can't as don't think i've listened to this album all the way through. Score might be harsh given it's got multiple all time great songs. But more of them didn't engage me than the ones that did

3.2 Some bangers, some big ballards, some a bit boring. Not as full an album as her earlier releases

May 16 2025

Some obvious heavy hitters in there. Enjoyed the lesser know tracks on the album more than I expected to, but not an album i'd choose to listen to

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye

A classic for good reason. Big fan of the multi-layered jazz arrangements.

Either Or by Elliott Smith
May 26 2025

A nice bit of Indie / Singersongwriter angst. Right up my street

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
May 27 2025

Enjoed the first half greatly. Sympathy for a devil, is a huge opening track and could carry the album on it's own. I enjoy the more classic rock type songs more, the album interestingly seems to jump between rock and blues/americana

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
May 28 2025

WHAT AN ALBUM Big fan of the blues / rock / jazz influences. Let's go Mark Knopfler on guitar. Excellent story telling too. Only 5*

Being There by Wilco

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest

Big fan of these guys - remind me of Souls of Mischief, and group a used to listen to at school. Enjoy the jazz influence coupled with strong meaningful lyricism
