More creative than Nevermind, but a little too self loathing

I only knew of Ray Charles from his later career, had no idea about this "big band" era. Very nice! Showcases his incredible vocal range and style.

It was interesting, clearly of a certain genre, heavy on The Smiths as inspiration, but not as well executed. Listenable if you like that style.

Depeche at their best

Outstanding album. The biggest hit from this album is actually the weakest song to me, it doesn't showcase the depth of their work, it was clearly designed for pop radio play. The deeper tracks are fantastic.

Absolutely terrible, complete garbage, no musical qualities whatsoever. If you get this album: turn around, don't drown.

The most classic work of a most classic artist. Even the filler is killer.

Last of the "original lineup" era, and a mixed bag. Eddie's keyboards are used well in places, out of place in others. "Jump" is clearly radio fluff, but other songs are more nuanced, "I'll Wait" a good example. If I never hear "Hot For Teacher" again, it'll be too soon, and, I'll take "Songs that haven't aged well for $1,000, Alex" :)
