1001 Albums Summary

This was a fun listen. I got the sense that this was one free white boy. Discovering Harry Nilsson made “Without You” which has been heavily licensed and then also “Coconut” which Tyga interpolated for his first ever single, had my mind blown. Favorite Track: Jump Into The Fire

This man went heavy on the harmonica! I’m not sure about this album. I think I’m supposed to like this album because of the recency bias of the biopic but I can’t get into it. I can see how provocative this album was during its time, but I don’t seem to get it today. I’ll stick to Kevin Morby, today’s version of Dylan (complementary) Favorite Track: Like a Rolling Stone

Ok, so these boys are coo-koo! When Anthony Kiedis said, "ding ding, dong dong, ding ding", I felt that! Nah, but it's not a great complete album, but it's a 4 because of the certified hits on this album -- Scar Tissue, Californication, and Otherside...Come on, man. Favorite Track: Scar Tissue

Man the 80s were a trip. I would’ve loved the 80s. I can hear this album being played over the speakers of Design Archives, a vintage store in Greensboro. Favorite Track: Sweet Bird Of Truth

This album was actually pretty good. Had a crazy 3 Track run with: “Lookin Out My Back Door” “Run Through The Jungle” “Up Around The Bend” Favorite Track: I Heard It Through The Grapevine (Shoutout Marvin Gaye)

Gotta be a top 10 Soundtrack Album of All Time! Favorite Track: Pusherman

Psychedelic rock is not in my wheelhouse but this album was damn good. Not because it’s Jimi, which he’s incredible, but because of the effects that I heard from the various tracks - it felt very much ahead of its time. Favorite Track: Little Wing
