Being There
WilcoMeh!
Meh!
I mean...i enjoyed parts of it. Side 2 was best in my opinion. It just kind of leaves me cold in the same way that Neil Young does. It isn't even one of those "i don't love it but I can see why people do" situations...like i just...don't get it. At the time this came out, there was so much more that was again, in my opinion, more appealing.
As a drummer, i do love these old big band and early jazz classics. I also love the arrangements and the horns. Also the bass playing....the piano. Love it all. It really blows my mind with this big band stuff that one man arranges it all. Basie is really enjoyable and this is a record i will revisit. great to either have as background or to immerse yourself in.
Absolutely sublime record. Never given the Smiths much time but this record is great. The bass and drumming are perfect foundational platforms for Marrs inventive songs and guitar playing and Morrissey's one of a kind vocal style. Those lyrics are just incredible. Love the mix on this album as well.
This was ok...I have heard the few BIG hits she had. Always liked her voice. I like the influence of "black music" that she wanted to explore more when she was in the pop group of her earlier career, pre this debut album. I likely wouldn't listen again but do not hate it. The remaster has really brought the mix alive.
It is obviously brilliant and was groundbreaking but it never has done much for me. I always had several other albums in the same vibe that i preferred. Would much rather listen to Sneaker Pimps and Morcheeba than Massive attack.
Really enjoyed this. The Go Go's are a band I have always meant to spend some time with but never managed. Liked this album alot but in fairness, I could listen to Belinda Carlisle recite an insurance policy and love it. Cool songs and hooks. Good way to spend half an hour or so.
I can find most i like in all music but this sort of stuff holds nothing for me. Just wanky, up its self, hippy dippy, hipster shite! Fuck Off!
Meh!
Wonderful album. Takes many a listen and much time BUT is a great journey and once you get into it, is fantastic. Their last really great album to THESE ears and i know that is sacrilege to some. After this they seemed to forget about songs.
Great record. Nice vibe.
If ever there was an overrated record....Jesus. People talk about this like its As good a live record as Made In Japan...Anyway...not for me.
REALLY enjoyed this album. Always kinda wrote them off as something i cant quite explain. Just shows you to often not judge a band by the look or the people that make up their fanbase. Loved it. Kinda gives me first Pvris album vibes.
I mean lets face it, it is one of those albums that he word "classic" is made for! ACDC, especially the Bon Scott era, cannot be fucked with!
I mean...it was ok...it is just so vanilla. Kinda like a female John Mayer. Just meh! Not sure how this record sold so much but I guess some people just dont need music to move them.
Yeah, quite different. Liked some tracks more than others, stylistic wise. Glad i listened.
Such a great record. The fact that he showed the depth of his writing and creativity in such a sincere way. Do yourself and listen....without prejudice ;)
Meh...I dont really "get" Bowie. Seems like a club that I can't join. I want to get it but it just leaves me cold, as does all his music.
Solid album. Really enjoy their approach to EDM
Only listened once due to time constraints but didnt hate it. I kinda thought I would.
Wanky!
Absolute fucking classic!! RIP Ozzy!
I like this album but i feel its somewhat overrated, they have several better records!
Just the very kind of music I think is wanky
Utter Shite
