שירים שאהבתי: caught by the fuzz, Alright, she's so loose, Sitting up straight, Lenny, Sofa of my lethargy.
Have heard this album before but it didn't hit the same this time. still pretty great! notable songs: Let Down, No Surprises, The Tourist, Man of war, Lift.
Next time I'm heartbroken or sad, I'm putting this one on! Amazing production! fav tracks: The Golden Age, Paper Tiger, Lost Cause, Lonsome Tears, Guess I'm Doing Fine. 4/5
A very unique album, but not my vibe, even though I understand it's influential. I liked: Gloria and Land Might need to look further at its lyrics and influence.
Good vibes, but didn't really catch my attention. I liked: Gotta Get Up, Driving Along, Without You, Jump Into The Fire. Coconut was a hard listen.
I have heard this one before. it's a great album that startes really strong with the first 4 tracks. It gradually lost me after "Why Worry?" but "Brothers in Arms" is a very strong closing track. Knofler is an amazing guitarist and Terry Williams the drummer is fantastic. Top Tracks: "So Far Away", "Money For Nothing", "Walk of Life", "Your Latest Trick" (LOVE this song), "Brothers in Arms" 4.2/5
3.5/5 A smooth and sexy album. Top tracks: let's get it on, please don't stay, keep getting it on, distant lover
It's a nice album. Musically, it is kinda simple, but the songwriting makes this simplicity effective. This album has a 60's vibe I enjoy. I don't think I'll revisit this album soon, except for a couple of tracks. It could be a fun road trip album. fav tracks: Green River, Wrote a Song for Everybody, Lodi, Bad Moon Rising. 4/5
One of the best Glam/Hair Metal albums of the '80s. Great riffs and drum parts with catchy melodies all over the album. As much as I enjoy this album, I don't think both "Pyromania" and "Hysteria" should be on this list. In my opinion, you can live with only hearing the latter one and switching Pyromania with a different, more diverse album. Fav tracks: "Photograph", "Stagefright", "Too late for love", "Foolin'" 4/5 Glam metal is my guilty pleasure
Not my thing. Most of the songs sound too similar to each other. Great musicians though, loved the bass and drums groove. High points: "Billy Jack", "Hard times", "Love the people" (great sax solo) Low point: Jesus 2/5
Felt like an early Beatles album fronted by Dylan, but no in a good way. Didn't like it maybe I'm missing something
Didn't have time to finish the whole thing (up until Caramel). I enjoyed what I've heard so far, the melodies are pleasent and the production is done well. A lot of the lyrics have a kind of dry or cynical humor to then. Fax tracks: "Sigourny weaver", "Marz", "Where dreams go to die"
I'm a fan of Bowie, but I just couldn't get into this album. The ambient tracks are pleasant, but in my opinion, overstay their welcome. I have no problem with instrumental tracks, but the ones on this album felt like they went nowhere and had no payoff or catharsis. fav track: "Sound and Vision" 2.5/5 Great musicianship as always, but not my favorite era of Bowie.
I enjoyed it a lot, I really love this British Glam rock, it reminded me of Ziggy Stardust in a way. A very fun listen, the first half is much stronger than the latter. fav tracks: tracks 1-6 4/5
Didn't expect this album to be this gentle. It was mostly soft and comforting, and even the relatively more energetic tracks had a chill vibe to them. I don't think I'll revisit this album soon, except for a couple of songs. fav tracks: "Candy Says", "Pale Blue Eyes", "After Hours" "Jesus" has a nice, pleasant melody. "The Murder Mystery" is a bit too long, but I love the experimentation, especially in the vocals. I have never heard a song that has two different lead vocals on the left and right headphones. 3/5
It wasn't my thing. No song on this album really grabbed me. I don't want to rate it 1/5 because I didn't hate it; it was just meh. 2/5
loved it! The blending of genres is done so well! The skits in between songs help me imagine a girl who is falling asleep or daydreaming in class, catching every other sentence her teacher says. I will definitely return to this album in the future to dive further into it. fav tracks: most of the first half 5/5
I gave it a couple of listens, but not a lot stood out. There are some nice melodies and "in your face" drums and guitar, yet no songs really gripped me. fav tracks: "Feed Me With Your Kiss", "Lose My Breath" I thought the strings on "No More Sorry" and "All I Need" were cool 2/5
I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I'm not a big fan of country music, but once I got over the twang, I started to really enjoy the album's mellow and peaceful vibe. The standout element of this album is the lyrics. Every song told a story, sent a message, or criticized something in a creative and cheeky way. fav tracks: "Illegal Smile", "Spanish Pipedream", "Hello In There", "Paradise", "Quiet Man" 4/5
Pretty good, but not my favorite Smiths album. The musicians are very talented, Johnny Marr's riffs are iconic, and Andy Rourke's basslines are truly underrated. There are some classic Morrissey lyrics on this one, especially in "Paint a Vulgar Picture." fav tracks: "A Rush and a Push and the Land Is Ours", "I Started Something I Couldn't Finish", "Girlfriend in a Coma", "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" 4/5
Fuck I hated this. It was a real challenge to finish the whole album. If I were to try and make a satirical British rap album, it would most likely come out as bad as this one. Some stuff I liked: the concept was interesting, and the storytelling wasn't that bad; he did get his point across. Some beats were nice, a couple of them had pretty strings. a strong 1/5
A bit too art rock for my taste. I am not a big fan of the vocals and the music itself is nice but didn't really grab me. I can hear the Pink Floyd/ Nick Mason influence across the album, especially in "A Last Straw" withe the cymbal work over a synth and guitar. Wasn't my thing 2/5
I love the album, but don't support the artist. I knew I'd get a Kanye album and considered whether I'd listen to it. I've decided to separate the art from the artist, and I'm glad I did. The production is amazing, the writing is witty, and the features are great! Fav tracks: I loved most of the album, personal favorites are "Blame Game" and "Devil in a New Dress". The latter half of "Power" is great. 5/5
This album has no business being this good. It's energetic, fun, and funky as fuck. I can see how influential an album like this can be to early hip-hop and the art of sampling. fav track: "Apache", "Bongolia" and "Bongo Rock". As a drummer, I have to give it a 5/5
Beautiful! This album is so soulful, funky, and full of emotion. Aretha's singing is on a different level, and the backing vocals complement her well. The musicians are on point in every song; groovy drum and bass, and melodic horns and guitar. Fav tracks: "Chain of Fools", "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", "Good to Me As I Am To You", and "Ain't No Way" 5/5 Soul is my genre of choice, but this was so great
RIP Ozzy I like this album a lot and didn't expect it to be this bluesy. The musicianship is great: Tony Iommi's riffs aren't as heavy as their later stuff, yet still pack a punch. Geezer Butler's basslines are incredible, and Bill Ward's drumming has such a unique groove. I was never crazy about Ozzy's singing, but you can't deny it's iconic. Fav tracks: "Black Sabbath, "The Wizard", "N.I.B." 4/5
Pretty good but not their best. The album is fun to listen to, it has some nice melodies, great energy and catchy hooks, but otherwise it is kinda shallow musically and lyrically. Fav tracks: "Slide Away", "Cigarettes & Alcohol", "Rock 'n' Roll Star", "Live Forever". Your music's shite/5
Surprisingly epic! You really don't know what to expect when you see an album with a cover this metal and an artist named Meatloaf. "Bat Out of Hell" is a certified banger, "Two Out of Three Ain't bad" walks the line gracefully between drama and humor, and "Paradise By the Dashboard Light" has the greatest switch-up I have heard in a song recently. I'm probably not going to revisit it soon, but you can't deny how great and unique this album is. 4/5 ain't bad
not my thing 2/5
It's a fun album that really captures that 50's vibes. Obviously influential. Fav track: "Blue Suede Shoes" 2.5/5
meh. It didn't do anything for me; no song really moved me or caught my attention. There are some nice arrangements and cool piano parts in some songs. 2/5
\m/ Paul Di'Anno is better than I remembered. I'm a big fan of Madien, and even though it isn't my favorite album of theirs, it's still great. "Iron Maiden" is a raw album that gives us a peek at what the band would become, as a great first album should. It has great basslines and energetic drums, amazing guitars, and unique song subjects (especially 'Phantom'). loved all of the songs except for "Transylvania" and "Charlotte the Harlot" . My favorites were: "Running Free", "Phantom of the Opera", and "Iron Maiden" 4/5
Not my thing, sounded like generic upbeat country music. The piano is good. Fav track is "Fingernails" it was kinda funny and had an enjoyable piano. 2/5
I've never heard a Nick Cave song in my life, but it seems he has a very unique style, especially his lyrics. The album was pretty good, yet I didn't really vibe with it. The musicians are great, and I loved the gospel parts. fav tracks: "Get Ready for Love" is a great opener, "The Lyre of Orpheus" - the take on the myth was very creative, "O Children" is pretty epic. 3/5, not really my cup of tea, but I respect it. Maybe I'll give it another listen soon and focus more on the lyricism.
I'm usually not a fan of either ambient or electronic music, but something about this album is different. Moon Safari has a unique and calm vibe; the instruments are layered beautifully, allowing the songs to be neither too busy nor too understated. On repeated listens, you can catch details you did not notice the first time around. Fav tracks: "La Femme d'argent" sets the tone for the album very well, "All I Need", "You Make It Easy", "Ce matin là". 4/5
Top-tier musicianship, every member of the band is on another level. I have a problem with pieces that are 20 minutes or longer. Although I appreciate the attempt to develop ideas and push the boundaries of the song, I find it difficult to follow every change and maintain my focus throughout the entire song. Fav track: "Spanish Key", it gets really funky in some parts. 3.5/5 might be more rewarding on repeated listens.
