1001 Albums Summary

I thought it was great. 10 years ago when it came out, I would have loved it to tears. Some tracks just didn’t do it for me and sounded like interludes but a majority of the album is pure quality.

This record is just so good. It’s a surprisingly groovy pop/dance record. Surprised no current DJ/producer has remixed any of these songs. They still hold up to today’s house tunes and could fit in any set.

This was such an awesome experience to listen to. The last quarter of the album is pure perfection really.

Enjoyed the blues sounding record with a sprinkle of that signature sound that would define The Stones

It’s just not my cup of tea but I can totally understand and get the universal acclaim. Just not my thing.

Wonderful voice. Some really great tracks but a good chunk of this album just felt kind of monotonous.

Felt like a bunch of b-sides that turned out to be one awesome flow of an album.

A punk album that feels like it’s trying to win a Grammy by being full of songs that sounds like a random bunch of artsy b-sides with no clear direction at all. Pretty nice cover of I Heard It Through the Grapevine but other than that. Not for me.

To put it nicely…it was the most relaxing and car ride to work I’ve had in a long time. Never was really familiar with Ray Charles except for his famous songs and the amount of times he’s been sampled but man….incredible record. Absolutely incredible. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A very fun and exciting album. Unfortunate that the last two tracks really drop off from what is otherwise a very excellent and unique album.

Record didn’t hit until the second half. Some really incredible tracks. Unfortunately while the first half was fine it honestly just okay. Loved his voice. Best Track: 5th Season

The singles are fine but overall this album just didn’t do it for me. Found it overall pretty boring. Best track: “Even Better Than The Real Thing”

I always thought The Beach Boys were just some shallow surfer band. But talk about blown away by this album. From start to finish, it felt like a rock symphony of sorts. Best track: “I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times”

This album was a killer discovery. I had no idea who he was or what I was in store for and this was so incredible. Engaging, amazing songwriting, just amazing songs. Very much worthy to be listed on the 1001 Albums To Listen to Before You Die

This was most certainly a journey. Awesome prog rock record especially it being from ‘71

A classic nu-metal album which unfortunately the songs with the features are the worst ones. Overall, it’s fun and Korn in their finest form

Took me two attempts to finish this. A snoozefest.

A complete dance party. I loved every second of it.

It was fine, a good mix of classic and just absolute bloatness. The last quarter of the second disc felt like a marathon to go through.

I like indie music but this one was a chore to get through. Every song felt the same like it was one long continuous track.
