First two tracks go off, lots is strong grooves and smooth vocals. Consistently engaging hooks and instrumentation. Definitely one that will grow on me with each listen as I’m already looking forward to a relisten. The talent and potential Fiona Apple had at such a young age is on full show here, even if the album does feel a bit repetitive towards the end. However, Apple’s performance accompanied with lush instrumentation make this an impressive debut. Perhaps slightly dated, the vocals can get old quickly but I still had a lot of fun with this. Technically proficient and a tight runtime make this a blast overall.

A beautifully crafted album, Marvin Gaye delivers a short but varied selection of songs where his voice and songwriting steal the show. Top Three Tracks: What’s Going On, Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology), Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) Least Fav Track: Wholly Holy

Respect the legend but Reggae isn’t something I would listen to a full album of.

Seem to have a mental block with REM. Enjoy their singles quite a bit but their full albums struggle to click, same again with this one. This one definitely has a hit more bite and the hits are massive but still missing something. Top Three Tracks: Welcome to the Occupation, It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine), The One I Love Least Favourite Track: Exhuming McCarthy 6.7

Dense, captivating, classic of the genre. Top Three Tracks: What Does Your Soul Look Like Pt.4, Mutual Slump, Midnight in a Perfect World Least Favourite Track: Organ Donor 8.5

Some cool tracks but overall a bit meandering.
