Stephen Stills by Stephen Stills

I have been hearing this album my whole life since it was released the year of my birth. Its a great album and feels like a fixture to me.

For years I somehow thought ABC was Duran Duran. I’ve heard “Poison Arrow” and “The Look of Love” a million times, and they’re clearly the standout hits. The rest of the album feels like variations on “Poison Arrow,” drifting into a glossy disco-jazz odyssey. It’s consistently listenable, but little of it truly stands out. Overall, a solid album with a few undeniable classics.

Some of the songs giving me strong 80s vibe although that might have more to do with the fact that the 80s are the last time I used to just listen to a whole album instead mixes or radio. Only song I've heard before was 19-2000 and Clint Eastwood. Man, I really love 19-2000. I also dug the vibe of Double Bass. A much more chill sounding album that I was expecting.

It is a very recognizable album with corrosive thoughts (real but angry) all over it. While its causes thought and is clever I really don't enjoy listening to this album.

I've listened to this many times even on a physical record back in the 80s. This was U2 going mainstream but I'd actually already listened to U2 earlier albums. This one blew up the band and the sound was great but different from their earlier albums. A very upbeat and warm sound but safer.

Revolver by Beatles

This album feels like driving down the road with the window and sunroof open. Taxman and Good Day Sunshine is catchy, Eleanor Rigby is beautiful, Yellow Submarine is goofy, and Got to get you into my life is raucous. A really great album.

Hotel California by Eagles

Very chill, very cool album. I've heard these songs SOOO many times on the radio over the years.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Sep 23 2025

The first few songs including the title song of the album were okay but forgettable but the back half of the album has all the greats you were all the time. Just a super chill album.

Savane by Ali Farka Touré

This is a fine album but it really isn't music I would listen to.

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson

Never heard of this album or the music on it. It feels like a cross between Beach Boys and Pink Floyd. A very classic 70s sound.

Supa Dupa Fly by Missy Elliott
Sep 26 2025

I've heard most of these tracks on the radio back in the day (Timberland is all over this) but I hadn't heard most of the other tracks and I was surprised how much R&B this album was. The 90s were really just a different vibe.

A very chill album. You put it on and then think about ... things ...

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix

A mix of 60s rock but also an artist who is exploring the sound.

Back when Kayne wasn't insane. Great and listenable album. A great inspirational album.

Ramones by Ramones

Great sounds and I've heard it in countless movies and commercials but after listening to the album all the songs have the same (great) sound.

Achtung Baby by U2

Pure 90s U2 bliss. I loved quite a few of the songs on this album.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival

I've heard this album on the radio throughout my youth. It's good music but it always makes me feel uncomfortable. It reminds me of drunk or high people out late up to no good.

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers

It was okay. Sounds like alot of 90s albums.

A wild album. I think ill need to listen to this several times to get it.

I recently listened to Queen’s Sheer Heart Attack from start to finish for the first time, and it was a real treat. While “Killer Queen” is the familiar highlight, the other tracks hold their own — varied, energetic, and highly listenable. I’ll need to sit with the lyrics more closely; there’s a sense the album is trying to say something deeper beneath the surface. Overall it’s an adventurous record that rewards repeat listens.

School's Out by Alice Cooper

was a favorite of mine as a kid in the ’70s—an unofficial announcement that summer had arrived. Until now, I’d never listened to the rest of the album, and I was surprised by how prominently horns feature in several tracks. It’s unmistakably a product of its era, very ’70s in sound and style, and overall an enjoyable listen.

This album didn’t really move or register with me. Maybe in 1975 it was revolutionary, but hearing it for the first time now, it doesn’t stand out much compared to the music that followed.

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone

A celebration of blackness and love.
