Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode

Not my thing. Never understood why these guys had success. Musically sound, but nope.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Sep 26 2025

Bowie is whiny. Music is pretty good but not great.

Aja by Steely Dan
Sep 29 2025

Like the jazz influenced rock.

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Oct 03 2025

Not my thing. Never understood why these guys had success. Musically sound, but nope.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Oct 06 2025

This reminds me why Bob Marley is a legend. A great blend of revolutionary messaging with great grooves. There is even a teasing live song! The only complaint I have of reggae is the drum line and piano tend to be the same from song to song. I could listen to this all day.

Night Life by Ray Price
Oct 09 2025

This is without a doubt a most forgettable album.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Oct 10 2025

Tough listen. Not much of a vocalist, very dark. Not my vibe.

The Cars by The Cars
Oct 13 2025

Great album. These songs define the 80s for me. Rock with electronic enhancements.

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Oct 14 2025

As a guitar player I can appreciate the extremely high level of guitar mastery. The blend of hard riffs with driving solos is really hard to pull off well. As a bad singer I can also appreciate when someone shouldn’t be singing. This album is a perfect example of why metal had so many bad singers for so many years. Also lyrics were written by someone who played too many table top RPGs. If submitted to a high school poetry class he would fail. So cringy.

You Are The Quarry by Morrissey
Oct 15 2025

Easy listening, good jams and lyrics. Not really my thing but I get it.

Opus Dei by Laibach
Oct 16 2025

Not my thing. It could be that I don’t understand the lyrics, but the music with the lyrics appears to be a joke within a joke.

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
Oct 17 2025

This album is why we don't let people use synths anymore. Cars is an all-time classic, so I can give him some credit for that, but an entire album is tough to enjoy.

The Visitors by ABBA
Oct 22 2025

ABBA was better in their earlier albums but this is still good. Slipping through my fingers and When all is said and Done are great tracks.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Oct 27 2025
Dirt by Alice In Chains
Oct 28 2025

Incredible album that takes me right back to my freshman year in college. I understand why some may find this to be lacking, as many of the songs are over-driven. Not all songs on this album are great (some are actually bad), but the overall musicality is very strong, the lyrics (particularly for the time) are well written. This is a defining album of grunge rock with, in my opinion, Nirvana's Nevermind and Pearl Jam's Ten rounding out the big three.

Cross by Justice
Oct 29 2025

Dance music, fine in the club but not much.

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Oct 30 2025

Amazing vocals! The album is dripping with hippie goo, but it is clear why this was such a great launch pad for the M&Ps.

Heroes by David Bowie

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Nov 04 2025

Dear lord this is a great album. How did I not find this earlier in life.

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Nov 05 2025

90's R&B...ish. The vocals, as expected, are amazing. She is extremely gifted, just not my thing. The vote is for the quality of the vocals and her range.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Nov 06 2025

Brass in Pocket...classic. Unfortunately I'm not a huge fan and the rest of the album isn't for me. Don't get me wrong, there is definitely a lot of talent.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Nov 17 2025
The Bends by Radiohead
Nov 18 2025

Fine..not sure why this is on the list.

Green by R.E.M.
