has some of the most edgy wrath like titled like "death to everyone" and "today i was an evil one" but this thing is chill folk goodness and it took me a little by surprise. i could definitely see someone bawling their eyes out to this.
7/10
highlights: A Minor Place, I See A Darkness
lowlights: Knockturne
It was okay, standard Elton. I'd give that a 6/10
I love Mr Smith he's so endearing and I think this is a nice batch of songs that illustrate his creativity really well. I'd give this an 8
my first willie nelson album. Pretty cool, did not disappoint, would listen to more...
Almost a little jazzy, like I could hear them being a little improvising and its really cool. One thing i like a lot is the drumming. Its very crisp and it compliments and enhances a lot of the rest of the instruments. The singer is very passionate, almost a little tooooo passionate like sometimes he sings the riff the guitar is playing and its a little corny but otherwise a great album
8/10
Its just fun rock that goes wild sometimes. Oasis are pretty good and this guy's voice puts a nice smile on my face.
highlights: live forever, slide away
8/10
This was pretty cool, more than a feeling is peak asf
7/10
david bowie can GROOVE and its pretty awesome, i liked this one alot. also unexpected across the universe cover which he does really well. 8/10
Im sorry sufjan stevens i wasnt familiar with your game....
kinda death cab for cutie if they were more folk and lots, LOTS of flutes. this was really nice, i like it a lot
9/10
This is the second zeppelin. I'd say this is less jazz like (except for that insane drum solo) and more focused on singular hits. This is not to say this was worse than the first zeppelin though, I think I like this more, it really hones in on their sound and I like it. 8.5/10
Some of this reminds me of this weird modern Artic Monkeys sound where they try to sound overly rugged, but then it starting moving into its own sound, and the last 2 tracks are really good. I think it did pretty well, 7/10.
It's a pretty good album, they know how to use the orchestra parts at the right moments, its pretty good. 7/10
Steely Dan my beloved.... man these group of tracks are awesome, i love how unapologetically groovy these guys can be, the instruments they use always seem so right to activate something within yourself, my highlight has to be Reelin' In The Years, that guitar plus the smug confidence the vocals are delivered in, this was pretty good 9/10
The pros of this album is that Bjork does have a great voice that she can wield very well with the instrumentals given to her. I don't like some of the instrumentals in this, she likes adding a lot of dissonance in these instrumentals and some DO NOT work unfortunately. I did like the harp track and Come To Me is a fantastic song, but the tracks that didn't work really dampened my mood on this album. 6/10
It's just casual country songs, theyre ok. He really likes talking about Jesus or how like no one he's met is like Jesus, which like, go off man lmao. 7/10
This Neil Young guy knows how to sing. Some nice bunches of tracks that sound good, Neil is adamant that Tonight is the night, and that kinda hype is motivating in a way. Its fun. 7/10
do you think this is what construction workers listen to to sleep?
i mean, idk if i have much of a review for this one..
i decided to spend my thanksgiving listening to a german industrial noise album and all i got out of it is how i guess a drill going through concrete is coolish? i could see how someone would like it but, im a little without words and too much metal banging with each other lol 4/10
My second David Bowie album, The Rise Of the longest title name for an album ever. This is a nice bunch of songs that are sometimes cinematic and sometimes just plain happy, like frolicking in the flowers happy. Its nice! 8/10
I was gonna say this feels like a space themed Bob Dylan album, but then i heard Andy Warhol and that kinda broke that immersion. Anyways this is another bunch of songs form David, they're really hopeful and gleeful. 8/10
A classic punk style record I enjoyed a lot. What surprised me the most was the amount of brass, it was weird but it fit well. I liked it a lot. 8/10
It's an ok album. I like the distortion in it, it adds a touch of rawness to it. I will say that it's a little repetitive at times, like they try to add their own little spin to each song, either it be weird dissonant guitar notes or piano, but it does kinda feel more like mush the farther you get through it. 6/10
This was really weird, and really long, or at least it felt like it. Some of the songs were really interesting, like the sounds they chose went in really weird places, but I will admit some of them were just really confusing, like why did you choose what sounds like someone banging on wire and why did you add it to your vibraphone? Some of the songs were really cool, and some of them I would stray away from. 6/10
Why didn't I know Van Halen made such iconic songs? Like how does he make such cool guitar riffs with his incredible sounding guitar while also doing barbershop quartet style adlibs? There is a lot of awestruck questions I could ask about this band, all i know is that this is a rich and beautiful sounding album. 9/10
There are some songs that are really good, like Heart-Shaped Box and All Apologies, but there are some songs where he's just screaming, and not in the good way, it sounds really painful. It's just a really rage-filled album that you just kinda have to be in the mood for. 7/10
Nice solid R&B album, I like how he does his little adlibs like Michael Jackson, and one note i'd like to add is it almost feels like a wash of refreshment, its really nice. 7/10
If you think about it, Johnny Cash is like the Original Gangster. He's just casually singing arguably the most depressing and off-putting prison songs to a literal bunch of prisoners in a prison. Stuff like cocaine and killing people, he's doing this shit before rap, he was just casually telling life stories like that, and yknow, that's insanely respectful, he's just that guy, yknow? 8/10
Fun little album, I like listening to a little hard rock. It's surprising however, how this was made in 1988, really made before it's time, and that's awesome. 7/10
Nice blues rock album, at first i was a little offput by the vocals, but its really soothing and a compliment to the album. I would really like to highlight the tracks Caledonia Mission and The Weight, i feel the chemistry between all of the members to shine through the most in this track, they just really know how to wield those instruments in a way that it feels like a ride through the sunset, 9/10
I'm a little high while writing this, sorry . Moon safari by Air is really cool, I saw a lot of comparisons by other people comparing this to Daft Punk, and thats simply because its a bunch of french guys using autotune to make their voices sound cool, which i like a lot. It's a really chill relaxing album, 8 outta 10.frrrrr
i was a little high while listening to this and yknow i actually think this is a perfect album for cannabis. Jilted is the perfect word for it dude like wtf does that mean sounds like when you flick a door stopper, j-jjj-j-jilted. really funny, really cool like a 8/10
Big fat super collab between three people lol. Was high while listening to it but it had a lot of emotions man. From like jubilation to almost this kind of defeat, this shit is jam packed, you cant go wrong with any of these three ladies and they kinda killed it. A nice ride for a fuzzy brain, 7/10
Infinitely a lot better than Debut, the instrumentals are key and match Bjork's voice a lot better. Bjork doesnt belt randomly here its like she's got it figured out, and her voice plus the chill instruments are calming yet can take you on an adventure. 9/10 im really proud
It was nice, there are some songs here I think i've heard before, its really cool to see Arcade Fire make up stuff that sounds like it could be released in modern day, and the instrumentation is fantastic, I like seeing it bend and stretch in ways I never expected. Idk, maybe a bit too long?, but its fine. 8/10
The era of indie rock music in the 2000's was very weird. Glam rock died because of grunge, grunge died after Kurt Cobain, it's remains turned into more indie rock things, Radiohead made OK Computer followed by Kid A, Arcade Fire, the whole thing. 2000's indie band music, you either hate it or love it, and you can make fun of all the bands involved, Radiohead, U2, Coldplay, Blur, Weezer, and especially Muse, considering their later projects are kinda mid. This album though is really fun and nice to listen to. The synths and orchestration and the weird turns this album goes to makes for a fantastic listening experience, I admit, I was surprised that I recieved this album so well. Great stuff, 8/10
I get a lot of joy with albums that feel like a bunch of teenagers in a garage jamming it out the only way they know how, and it's so cool how this was made in 1977, this feels like the rawness and emotion of midwest emo before emo was ever conceived, this is really cool. Punk is awesome man, it's enough to make you smile. Fantastic instrumentation laid out in a way that makes you want to do something, anything. 10/10 (P.S: The album cover is so low quality it makes them look like cryptids, which maybe adds to the flavor...)
Only 4 tracks??? Holy prog??? Anyways it felt like a short yet sweet album for the Christmas Eve times, very silly yet almost very groovy instrumentals that just felt like a fun time. 8/10
Fitting Christmas album LMFAO. Yeah man exactly what you need to get into any Christmas mood you want, sad, happy, whatever. Phil Spector really knows how to get that sound, that's what he's known for. 8/10, Merry Christmas
I mean, what's not to like? The message is simple, actually it's the most simple word there is. Common demonstrates through song (and killer Kanye and J Dilla production) that aspiring to be something and simply just existing can be awesome, and Common can deliver the words to inspire anyone. I like this album a lot, not only is it inspiring, but its just so chill in production that even if you're not looking for inspiration, you can use this album to just relax on your couch on a rainy day and enjoy your existence. 10/10
I don't know much about Bruce Springsteen, but it seems he gets into a depressive state when he visits Nebraska cuz this shit is DEPRESSING. Like usually playing solo with guitar and harmonica evokes this slightly adventurous mood, like riding in horseback. Idk what Bruce did with his guitar but it sounds like you ripped it out of his nightmares. Don't listen if sad, otherwise a nice beautiful album. 8/10
Probably some of the best bass riffs in an album. Everything else accompanying it works too, but that bass tho.... 8/10
Happy new years! Celebrating it with somewhat good quality Primal Scream! With that being said, this is alright. Their sound is pretty nice and easy to digest, and I like the techno beats they sometimes overlay. 7/10
Nice and groovy! Just enough for a good time, an uplifting album I think. I think my only complaint is that its not a long of songs. 7/10
Something was in the studio, man. Handcrafted groove that is earworm. You literally cannot resist the urge to at least move with this, Michael Jackson really knows how to rile up a crowd. 9/10
I mean.....what is there to say? Maybe Radiohead found some sort of artifact that made them pinpoint every song off this album, maybe they asked some higher power to help them. Either way, flawless album dude, straight to the point every song. 10/10
I mean, as far as singer with piano stuff goes, Adele is really good at this, I can understand why it won the grammy. I liked it! 8/10
