First song I listened to was a 0/10, but the second one, "Clap Hands", was amazing. Also highly recommend "Cemetery Polka." I am still currently listening to songs from this album as I type this so overall the album was absolutely amazing.
The very first song I listened to I got the vibe of a depressed version of The Beatles and I stand by that. After listening to the rest of the album, I would also say they give a slight Bowie sound too. All in all, I would not listen to them again.
Without the vocals of Antony, 4/5 stars. Sadly there were vocals in every single one of the songs, so that drops my rating down to a 2/5. The warbling that was reminiscent of Post Malone mixed with a Yellow Warbler bird was too much to bear on every track. The piano was the only redeeming quality of the songs, and that is the only reason this album is getting more than 1 star from me.
A mix of alt. rock, grunge, and slightly surfer vibes. Not wholly my taste but would definitely listen to again. Plus Pixies are just iconic anyway.
I like the Pixies so I liked the album and the sound to it, and I wouldnt mind listening to it again. I wouldn't change one of the songs if they came on, but I probably will not voluntarily listen to this album again. It's just not my current music taste but I can appreciate it for what it is.
I always liked Megadeth and this album was no exception. I enjoyed it, but the songs seemed to all be so similar it was difficult to tell them apart. Overall I liked the album and would listen to it again, but I can't in good conscience give it 5 stars.
In a word: ~ Meh ~ Didnt hate it but didnt love it and more than likely wont listen to it again.
This album was about as enjoyable as getting a root canal if your dentist was John Cramer from Saw. Anyone who finds this enjoyable, innovative, and/or worth listening to needs to be seen by someone, anyone, with a PhD. To quote Tyra Banks, "It is so bad, I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible, so I give you a one."
Not bad There were some good songs and some bad. Overall, it was a pretty good album, though.
Pretty good album. Learning about the lead guitarist's mental health struggles really put some of the songs into context. Overall I enjoyed it and would listen to it again, but it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea.
Loved it. I will definitely be listening to some of these songs again.
Do not recommend unless you like to listen to weird sounds and music that is supposed to seem "futuristic" but instead sounds like a toddler decided to play on a keyboard with random sound bites and then someone high on acid remixed it. (side note: "To the Moon's Contractor" Kinda sounds like a remixed version of the robot song from Spongebob where Spongebob thought Mr. Krabs was a robot and that is the only reason I am giving this 2 stars.)
"Get Free" was the best song on this album and the rest was just either too boring or I wasnt able to understand a word of it so I don't think I'll be listening to any of this album again except for that one song. It also seemed really basic for an alt rock band but right on brand with any band from the 90s/early 2000s.
well... it lives up to its name in a sense. It felt more like I was in a yoga studio than an airport entire time. And I am very unsure why it made it onto this playlist
I already knew this album was going to be 5 stars as soon as I saw it pop up. This album is one of my top 10 all times so suffice to say, I love it. Sorry, to every other future album, this one is the gold standard and that’s just Sad But True.
I listened to this album until I could listen to no more, which turned out to be about 10 minutes. The trumpet was cool but it just all sounded the same to me and I found myself wondering when each song was going to end only to realize another had already begun. I could not finish the album
