Was already a fav of mine - a go to album for when I'm trying to get to sleep or a rainy day.
Every time I listen to this album I'm reminded of the first time I listened to it in full. I'd gotten the keys to my first ever flat in the city and spent so long getting my new room decorated that I had to get a late train back to my Parents' house so I listened to this on the walk through the rain to the train station.
Pale blue eyes is one of my favourite songs of all time
Really enjoyed havalina - quite dreamy and a great ending to the album.
A solid album with a cohesive vibe but still takes from different genres for some contrast - great to just have on in the background.
I remember quite liking Monk's stuff in the past but this album is kinda weak to me.
On monst of the tracks it feels like there's an instrument missing - they feel incomplete.
Decent album - can't really go wrong with a bit of Elvis
There are few things I love more than Simon and Garfunkel.
America is, in my opinion, one of the greatest songs ever written.
Was expecting a lot more from this as I know some very cool fleet foxes fans and the album cover is gorgeous. I was underwhelmed.
Pretty good. Nothing spectacular but a solid country album.
Damn you Phil Spector. Horrible man, some amazing albums.
I swear anything Paul McCartney touches turns to gold (fuh you incl.). This album is so fun and filled with Whimsy. Title track is obviously a classic but the whole rest of the album is just amazing also.
I mean...
I actually need the vinyl variant with the actual zipper on the front.
Brown sugar is a classic.
Wild horses is perfect.
The whole album is gold.
What the hell was in the air in the early 70s??
British folk music will forever feel very nostalgic to me as a Scottish person and I really like the psychedelic and south Asian influences that come through in this album.
The album does feel a bit monotonous which made it drag a little in my opinion. (Might be better as background music so will hold onto it for studying)
Title track is odd - it's experimental but doesn't really hit for me - although it does fit really nicely with the concept of the album it's just not the most enjoyable listen
I appreciate that the album has running themes and a fun concept but it's not something I think I'd seek out.
In the morning of the magicians is a pretty good song and has a cool pink Floyd esq feel but less immersive.
Very cool album cover.
It's a good album but doesn't really stand out much for me.
I find this album to be incredibly overrated. Common people isn't a bad song and I think it's probably the only one that doesn't feel like filler, that said I still don't find it particularly groundbreaking. Maybe I'm just too middle class for this but I don't think it's making as big a statement as people make it out to be.
I don't really have many thoughts on this. It's not bad but I wouldn't listen again.
Was gonna say it was decent but too unoriginal but actually listening to the lyrics I hate this. More than half the album is just about wanting to marry rich and spend his money but in a 'female-power' way. It's so stupid and superficial. Also hate the album cover - girl clearly has no fashion sense so why does she need the money anyways
It's solid but doesn't really stand out to me.
I always forget how much I love Dusty Springfield. This album has some bangers but doesn't completely blow me away.
Have had this album on cd for a while and had never actually listened to it all the way. Good album.
Love Bowie so so much. Heroes is a very sentimental song for me as with many Bowie tracks. Also loved beauty and the beast and secret life of Arabia.
It's not bad but it didn't really do anything for me. Doesn't feel like there's really any heart to it.
This is my favourite album of all time. I'm not exaggerating. This is one of the greatest albums ever made and I simply couldn't live without it. It was my top album on Spotify last year and will be my top album this year. It's actually not funny how much I love this album, the cd was like £60 and is my most prized possession. Fuck I love George Harrison. I dream about George Harrison far too much. George Harrison. It's impossible to even say what my favourite song(s) on this are because I love every single one. I listen to this album all the way through at least once a week.
Wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did - always had this idea of iron maiden being super metal and I do like metal but sometimes it's too much for me. this was a lot chiller than expected and really easy to listen to. Will defos listen again.
I know it's not really the point of this but I love when it gives me an album I know and love. Probably the best rendition of 'i shall be released' I've listened to and the cover art is the coolest. I have this album on CD and it's an easy reach for me.
Had never listened to this album in full but have loved jealous guy for forever. Overall a great album. I love listening to the Beatles' solo stuff and noticing which aspects from their stuff as a band came from each of them.
It's a really solid album but slightly over hyped in my opinion. Think my expectations were too high but I can't really fault it.
I get the appeal but it's not my exact cup of tea, the vocals are beautiful but a little cutesy for me
I absolutely love the velvet underground and although I think there are albums of theirs deserving the hype more than this one it's undeniably a very good album
doesn't really compare to some of their other albums
Not my fav but I wouldn't say it's bad
I always forget how much I love the beastie boys which is really strange because typically this sorta thing wouldn't be my vibe but there's an energy they bring which I love. The sounds of science I loved but largely due to the Beatles samples.
Unfortunately doesn't compare to 'music from big pink'. It's still decent but not their best. I've definitely heard better versions of 'the night they drove old Dixie down' sorry
Really great album. Never trust anyone who doesn't love walk of life. Will say I definitely prefer their self titled album but this is also solid.
An all time favourite of mine, literally seeing him live tomorrow. Remember the first time I listened to homeless on vinyl - genuine perfection. Diamond on the souls of her shoes is beautiful, you can call me Al is obviously such a banger and the title track is also. This album has no skips for me.
