Popular Reviews

The Score by Fugees

Leans a bit too "lyrical spritual miracle" for me. Some great grooves while also managing to never be catchy. A great album thats not for me

Feast of Wire by Calexico

Commits the irredeemable sin of having a skateboard on the cover but sounding like corporate hold music

I've never listened to this kind of music outside of a 90s movie rave scene. Interesting, but the long run time makes it something i don't think I'd actively listen to through headphones. Great fir a 90s movie rave scene though

Metallica by Metallica
Dec 21 2025

The definitive entry-level hard rock album. The best songs are incredible, the weak just blends in

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Dec 22 2025

Not much I would come back to but glad to have heard it

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Dec 24 2025

Great sound, but I couldn't stop focusing on how Janis sounds like Marge Simpson.

Vespertine by Björk
Dec 28 2025

A magical listen that begs the question, "Is this weird music for cool girls, or cool music for weird girls?"

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Dec 29 2025

Made it about halfway. A talented musician but the album lacks the bite I need to keep listening. Retro-futuristic, but a retro I don't want to revisit and a future that already passed

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Dec 30 2025

Yup, that's Willie

Paris 1919 by John Cale
Jan 01 2026

I really liked it. Calm and interesting, I see myself coming back to it

Eagles by Eagles
Jan 02 2026

The Big Lebowski did a lot to harm the Eagles reputation, but it's honestly just fine. Background music for harmless alcoholics who don't like music but want something to be playing. Top-tier mid.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Jan 03 2026

I love it. The criticism of the unintelligible vocals doesn't work for me, I think they add so much mystery. What they're saying is less meaningful than the atmosphere created

1984 by Van Halen
Jan 06 2026

Look, it's mid-eighties cheese. Is it high art? No. Is it for everyone? No. But anyone who can't put this on and at least nod their head a little is a psychopath. A fun listen for fun people, and thats it

I Against I by Bad Brains
Jan 07 2026

Loved the punk stuff, towards the end a lot started to blend but a real cool listen and something I had been overlooking

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Jan 09 2026

I like the songs that sound like the Smiths

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Jan 11 2026
Dry by PJ Harvey
Jan 12 2026
The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jan 13 2026

Dre and Snoop had a hunger to prove themselves that shows through this album. A hunger that would satisfy them for their careers and disappear not too much later. A masterpiece of its time, however the use of high frequency synth leads gets to be a little grating as the album plays on. I call it the Dogg Whistle ™️

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Jan 14 2026

Lyrical miracle spiritual backpack rap that sounds like an inner-city substitute teacher trying to win over a classroom with a rhyming dictionary. No doubt influential to the history of hip hop, but the genre progressed so quickly that this is ancient history

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Jan 15 2026

Fantastic listen. I read that they wanted to make "dance music for the head, rather than the body", and I think that just means it's for people who can't dance but want to know how it feels. Which is me. Not sure how often I'll revisit it, but thats due to personal taste rather than quality

The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter by The Incredible String Band
Jan 16 2026

A challenge. This album sounds like a burnout hobbit's drum circle. Like the other hobbits go about their merriment free of shame but look down on these people. What too much pipeweed does to a mf. I wanted to hate it. I TRIED to hate it. But I listened to the whole thing with unbreakable curiosity. I never liked it, but I couldn't stop it either. Weird stuff

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jan 17 2026

4 stars for an amazing album that isn't my taste

Feast of Wire by Calexico
Jan 18 2026

Commits the irredeemable sin of having a skateboard on the cover but sounding like corporate hold music

Pink Flag by Wire
Jan 21 2026

Loved it, short songs that make an impact. A great foundation for all the stuff I like, but hadn't heard this before

Django Django by Django Django
Jan 22 2026

This is my personal bias but firmly not for me. Background music for "art types" who don't make any art

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Jan 23 2026

Great to put on and just vibe. My expectations were wrong and I had a blast listening while I painted. The organ sound maybe isn't for everyone, but it sounded great in headphones

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jan 27 2026

THEE millennial gateway album for any alternative taste. An absolutely crucial time capsule in sonic form. A foreshadowing of culture to come birthed from the last breath if the 90s. A classic. Unfortunately, after nostalgia subsides, the album doesn't really set itself apart from the raw feel of what came before, and falls short of improvements made after. A 3/5 today, a 100/5 when I was 11.

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Feb 05 2026

Not a fan. Not for me. Sounds like how cigarettes smell, but in a sadder way. Bob Dylan after dark.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Feb 21 2026

This album made me understand the Radiohead/Coldplay comparison. 2 stars because I believe there's better Radiohead and better Coldplay

Suicide by Suicide
Mar 05 2026

Interesting, but I don't know if I'd come back. Frankie Teardrop is worth hearing though
