Mid album. I was really bored listening to this. There was really so much creativity happening during this time it’s hard to see how the Beatles were revolutionary. Maybe this is when they were starting to shed their happy little British school boy rock image? I’ll watch the documentary on Apple Music and see what the hype is about. Right now it’s like a 2-5. Holy shit that last song is horrible

Tbh this is a really front loaded album. Opening with Tom Sawyer is crazy because it’s peak but it’s kinda downhill from there. YYZ and Limelight are bangers but don’t stand up to the opening track. Then the rest of the album is ok but not bangers like the others.
I’d give this a 2.5 because it was better than rubber soul but there aren’t any bangers here I’d come back to listen to. Nice album though!
Really not my thing. I don’t care for Christmas music and tbh I skimmed this album. I get that it’s a classic but I’m more than likely not coming back to it.
Morrissey is insufferable. Apparently the guitarist is doing some crazy shit but Morrissey never shuts up long enough for me to hear them. The songs don’t leave any space and are just jam sessions with Morrissey’s uninspired melodies.
They have one sound and they stick to it. Yeah it’s a classic but after you listen to other bands in the genre you realize Metallica are just kinda basic. Ngl there are a few bangers on here but they don’t really hold up for me and it’s mostly just nostalgia because this was one of the first CDs I owned.
I’m a hater I guess. Other than the opening track this album didn’t really do much for me.
Welcome to the jungle and Sweet child of mine still hold up really well tbh. Track 2 is also really good and sounds like it might have influenced stone temple pilots and I also think I heard some QOTSA in there but I might be crazy. The rest of the album kinda fell flat for me and sounded like the same thing. Paradise City doesn’t hold up for me. Kinda goofy.
LOOOONG ASS ALBUM. Some bangers some eh. The second half is more my style. I can def hear the influence this had on Childish Gambino.
Only heard of Brian Eno before this because of the MGMT song but didn’t realize he invented ambient music until this album and reading the Apple Music summary. I thought it was nice and was impressed that it’s from the mid 70’s. It wasn’t until I listened while driving and looking at the sky in the setting sun. Really cool feeling. 4 stars. Added songs and will come back to this album for sure.
This sucked. It’s like Mistki or Weyes Blood if they were bad and couldn’t keep a tune. Boring songs and even more boring instrumentals. I had trouble finishing this album and had to skip a few songs because I just couldn’t take listening to the same thing over and over again. The music wasn’t unlistenable I’m sure people like this but man is it unimpressive.
Way better than highway to hell. So many classics on here that get creative and have some variance in dynamics. Favorite songs: Shoot to Thrill, Hells Bells
Wtf is this shit
This album sounds like a product of its time. So many radio hits on here. Unfortunately I can’t stand her voice and style of singing and the lyrics just seem obnoxious. It sounds like the most insufferable person you know would have had their life changed by this album back in the day. You Oughta Know really is that song tho that’s the only one I liked on here.
Great musicianship all around on this one. Under the bridge stands out and it’s no wonder why it’s still a classic and one where Keidis actually shines through. Other than that, Breaking the Girl is the only other track that really stuck with me. Unfortunately my old favorite from Rockband 2, Give It Away, didn’t hold up for me. Favorite songs: Under The Bridge, Breaking The Girl
Really nice instrumentation and vocals of course. The mix is really muddy I wish there was a remastered version on Apple Music. If I actually did listen to the remaster then that’s pretty disappointing. None of the songs stuck out to me on here but it was interesting to listen to early Queen aside from the mega hits that everyone knows. Oddly enough the song I enjoyed the most was the “The Loser in the End” where Mercury isn’t singing no offense to him but that was the most interesting one for me.
A few bangers on here. You can get the sense of what they’ll later achieve on rated R.
Catchy centrist political anthems right here. Bro you’re Irish and imperialists are occupying your country. How are you going to “both sides” this? Boring politics, mostly boring 80’s rock.
Psych jam band type album with some bangers at the end
Holy shit who can listen to this? I’m sure these musicians are some of the most talented people but this is horrible
I like Tom’s voice on a few other tracks from other albums where it’s darker and more sinister. Not really a fan of him actually singing ballad style it’s very grating.
Decent album but nothing I’d save for another listen. Never heard of this guy but it reminded me of the e Beatles and on that coconut song it really reminded me of Mac Demarco.
Freaky music.
Not their best album but still a strong project. There are a few that just don’t hit for me but there are plenty of bangers on here.
Classic punk rock songs on here but the style gets a bit old
Started strong but lost the appeal after a few songs. Heavy Beatles influence I think.
Songs are fine. I can see the inspiration that they gave to other popular artists and even some modern ones like the Lemon Twigs. Nothing really stuck out to me as something I’d come back to.
Personal opinion but I can’t stand the 90’s alternative genre style of song writing or singing. I don’t think Liz can sing well and the songwriting plays more pretentious than deep
Some classics on here. Really nice relaxing country music.
Music isn’t bad but the spoken word style just doesn’t do it for me
Classic jazz album
Great album I personally just get tired of the inflections she uses and the constant vibrato.
More of a 2.5 for me. The songs and instrumentals are pretty good but the style of singing and songwriting is really just not for me. There are a few highlights to the album but nothing that I’d want to hear again.
Great lyrics and energy I just wish his voice wasn’t so goofy. The messages would hit a lot harder. Based politics tho
Tbh impressive sound for the 70’s. Sounds ahead of its time.
Really solid album but there are like 2 songs that just don’t do it for me or don’t match the vibe of the rest of the album. Almost perfect though.
Solid. Dont really know what else to say. I’m not familiar with the genre so I’m not sure how early or revolutionary some of these sounds are but I know Aphex Twin has been sampled and interpolated many times since.
Interesting I’ve never heard of this one 2.5
3.5. Great album
This was so nice to listen to. Each song kinda blended together and felt like one thing.
