Great pop songwriting with a clear influence on future pop, punk, and indie.

I probably won’t be back but I get why it’s a classic. Solid riffs everywhere, kind of corny lyrics. Wildly long tracks for an album this acclaimed in pop culture. Can’t get past the hard rock voice.

Favorite Track: Praise You A fun listen, but not something I’ll come back to regularly. Great collage of sounds, but not an energy I love for an entire record.

Favorite Track: Wish You Were Here One of the greatest album covers ever. Great sonic exploration. Love how sparse and melancholy it can be at times. Rock isn’t dead, but a guy who will tell you it is may be right about this album.

Incredibly produced album. Guy gets it on.

One of my favorite albums of all time. Incredible tension and release in the music. In my opinion the perfect clean guitar tone throughout.

Genuinely shocked by how much I like this. A great blend of genre, Perry has a super unique voice, and the dissonant guitars combined with shredding is very cool.

Fiona’s talent is undeniable. I don’t love piano driven pop music, but this album did a nice job blending in orchestral elements to keep it interesting.

What felt like arbitrary riffing and solos for most of it. Playing is fine, lyrics are dorky. It’s inoffensive and I know it probably sounded wild at the time. Not for me. Interested to see how they develop as songwriters if there are more albums on the list.

A little one note in approach. I liked it, I like music that sounds like this. Lyrics were ok, musicianship suited the style.

I went in to this thinking this is my least favorite Beastie Boys album. I haven’t listened to them in a long time. Maybe it still is but I enjoyed it. The production has more variety than I remember. The yell-rap cadence does get a little old for me over time.

Some things I really liked, Marley has a great voice and I was impressed by the guitar playing. The songs tend to drag a little bit. If you’re in nonstick where you really catch a groove I’m sure it’s a different story.

Not at all what I was as expecting as far as sound and really enjoyed it. Really nice sound design and a chill vibe. Definitely 2000s indie pop stuff like Destroyer.

A lot to enjoy about this one. 60s melodies with 80s jangle.
