Blur by Blur

Expected this album to be boring before I remembered that this was made by the dude who later made Gorillaz.

Kid A by Radiohead

The first album I was assigned by this website was one I’ve already liked for years! I’d take In Rainbows over this any day, but found this a fun refresh listen. Plus, the National Anthem and Idioteque will never NOT be good.

ABSOLUTE CINEMA I LOVE 2000s INDIEEEEE

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Mar 13 2026

Didn’t know anything about the album going into it, but it really WAS blues, and very good blues at that. Fun things happening on the guitar there.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Nostalgic stuff, my dad listened to this a lot growing up. I know most of these songs already. Would give a 3.5 stars if possible.

Pretty and strange, but not memorable. Gotta relisten at some point.

Nothing to say besides how well made it was. Had I listened to this three years ago I wouldn’t be here today.

A precursor for better folk-rock to come.

Document by R.E.M.

Every fan of every subgenre of white guy rock (important qualifier) owes their soul to this guy. God bless.

Apr 15 2026

I’m not usually a fan of songs that drag, or have weird noisy middle sections, or repeat a lot, or are longer than 15 minutes. Cop Shoot Cop, however…

In Utero by Nirvana
Apr 17 2026

It was important.

Horses by Patti Smith
Apr 28 2026

Land: Horses is an absolute trip. The lyrics in this album scare me a little. Awesome stuff.

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
May 01 2026

Giving this a five for the same reasons lonely sailors leap from their ships when they hear singing sea creatues.

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
May 02 2026

I know this is ridiculously high ranked compared to a lot of albums here that are really formative to their genres, display an insane level of artistry, or can generally be referred to as the GOATs. However... I like big beat a lot, and I think its dated-ness adds to its charm, and I don't find any of it annoying, and this has been my default "throw it on and get shit done" album for years now. Sorry! :-)
