Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
May 25 2026

Lots of varied sounds. Clearly made well. Mostly pleasant. Listening to double albums idly in one go is excruciating when so many tracks sound the same. Maybe they don't, but tell that to the album, not to me!

May 26 2026

I was very excited to finally listen to this, and it did not disappoint. Sounds great thru-out. Lovely concept, with the wrappings of the conversation with the group. This one could grow to a 5 down the line.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
May 27 2026

She's got the pipes. I think my mom would like this!

The Wall by Pink Floyd
May 29 2026

It is nice to finally experience what is considered one of the best concept albums of all time. I consider it: pretty OK! Very pleasent prog through-out, and nice to follow along with the story-telling.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
May 30 2026

It's the first time where my mouth was wide open during one of these albums. Especially Take Five, which made me giddy to hear in its correct context. It feels like one of the first things I've listened on here that might actually have some replay-value for me. I am ready to get rid of my jazz-posery and to fully submit. If I could submit half-stars here this would be a 4.5.

May 31 2026

Quite a bit of fun. I really enjoy the production, especially how it sounds now (where it is a bit lower resolution).. it's a dusty sound but in a way I hadn't heard before. It's a new type of old, and that's exciting. My excitement waned over time.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Jun 01 2026

Very good record, absolutely comes off as a historical classic. I think I'd need these tracks to stick a little better in my mind for me to give this a fiver, but it's not at all far off.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Jun 02 2026

Quite good for what it is! I could be convinced there's better ZZ out there but I enjoyed it through-out

Sunday At The Village Vanguard by Bill Evans Trio
Jun 04 2026

Very nice jazz to lose yourself in whilst being completely awake. It's between a 3 and a 4 to me.

B-52's by The B-52's
Jun 07 2026

Such a fun whimsical album. The production, instruments, vocals. It feels like a local theater production. I'm bathing in the warm embrace of it all. 4.5

Jun 08 2026

Hey loser, we need to take a 5 hour car ride out of nowhere for no reason right now. Listen, I said right now! I'll drive, but you make sure to put on something on the sound system.. and it's gotta be great road trip music.. you got something?

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Jun 10 2026

Completely reasonable blues, but it gave me some weird flashbacks to family parties.. hmm.. I think it might be a bit too honkie tonk for me.. On a better day I might give this 3. Well..

There's A Riot Goin' On by Sly & The Family Stone
Jun 11 2026

Very nice! I was consider a 4 to start with, but I wish the songs were a little more rememberable even at a first listen. Actually, this is extremely my shit anyway so let's give this a 3.5 technically, but a 4 actually.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Jun 13 2026

Finding music that you've heard as a chibis in these album listenings is an incredible feeling. It's nice to know that THAT song is "The Weight". I think I will have to go with my gut and not really give it higher then 3.5 - very few instances where I'd listen to this again. But it is quite good

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Jun 14 2026

God bless this record, and it is a bit of fun. Feels like it might have some replay value for ironic reasons, but that's about where it stops for me.

Jun 19 2026

Umm badummmm dum bada da Umm badummmm dum bada da Umm badummmm dum bada da

Elephant by The White Stripes
Jun 20 2026

Yeah pretty good this

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Jun 25 2026

Such a future forward record. Released 2 decades before it was made. Incredible to hear it made so far back.

The Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
Jul 01 2026

I was really vibing out with this as I was hearing it - I gotta be realistic about the chance of playing this ever again but it hit me just as well as it could've. It does really feel like vacation car-trip music, or my associations with it. Very possible having it on the TV and not listening THAT intently was part of the sensations.

Dummy by Portishead
Jul 07 2026

Not a bad track on this bad boy. Incredible production, incredible vocals.

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Aug 07 2026

It's the afternoon on a (relatively) warm Scandinavian summer day. The sun has continuously had its way with me and caused me.. perhaps not sun-burned, but sun-glazed. A light headache lingers in my skull. A friend tells me that THIS one is the one I need to listen to, with my partner in the room. I've not quite listened to anything like this before. But I have, too. It's always tough to describe something based on thoughts that have escaped you. It feels like a theater production manifest in audio. It's.. I had a hard time absorbing what was being said, but I felt most of it. I feel more enriched having listened to it. 3/5
