pretty good
Pretty good nothing that blew me away
Fun very blusey and unique, opening track I knew, nothing that extraordinarily blew me away
Electronic music isn't really for me, this album begins by building off some repetitive themes. The first two songs feel very similar to each other however the change from Ancodia to Cobra Bora is kind of insane. From a very repetitive pattern to an even more repetitive pattern but on cowbell so its latin. Interesting break down on Cobra Bora switching to some 808s I think? Funky latin inspired with an interesting synth layover? How is this song still going ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ฎโ๐จ. Slow build up but eventually plays every looping track at the same time? Massive slowdown into Pacific 202. All of these songs are really long. Bird calls at the end of pacific 202, some kind of symbolism likely with pacific ocean but doesn't fit the vibe? Going to have to be harsh with this album, 2 stars.
I thought this album was really fun. Kept a really fun upbeat post prog rock beat the entire time. This album feels like it was in the transition phase from what we see in prog rock to modern rock. Beginning of set instrumentation of a drumset, guitar, bass, and a singer. No unnecessary saxophones. While I love the transition aspect of this album I don't think that it has reached perfection, 4.5 (4) Stars.
Funky ahh R&B album super fun and captures a nice 90s vibe, 3.5 (3) stars.
Thought this album was really fun, counter culture anti gangsta rap with lyrics glorifying spirituality and connection to the earth. Good lyricism and well performed. 3.5 (3) stars
This album is just so goated. Elliott smiths ghostly layered vocals on every song are perfect. This album is some of Elliott Smith's best work. Absolutely beautiful, 5 stars.
This album started off kind of interesting but with a pretty generic rock sound. Strained vocals and a pretty similar drumbeat between all the tracks. Pretty good instrumental breaks in songs like dying days. Overall this album was good but I dont think I will revisit it anytime soon, 3 stars.
This is by far my favorite Smiths album. Usually The Smiths give me a large amount of listening fatigue but this album never gets dull. Starting off somber with The Queen Is Dead and instantly launching into Frankly Mr. Shankly is an incredible tone shift. This album is the best representation of The Smiths that there is. Near perfection, 4.75 (5) stars.
This was my first time ever listening to Nusrat. I understood going into this album that Jeff Buckley had a deep affection for Nusrat and took a lot of inspiration from his music. I see so many similarities between this and Jeff Buckley. This is a beautiful microtonal (for western listeners) album that has a lot of substance. I see myself coming back to this album in the future, 4 stars.
This album was really good, but if I wanted to listen to a David Bowie album I would take ziggy stardust over this one anyway. Full of fun instrumental riffs. I see myself coming back to thos one, 4 stars.
I thought this album had a really fun interlude but the expectations set at the beginning were not met throughout the album. Still an ok listen, 3 stars.
Once again not a fan of electronica music. Made a sandwich while making this and felt like an extra for Breaking Bad. A more positive experience than 90 by 808 state, 2.5 (2) stars
I thought this album was fun, full of good storytelling, lyricism, and Bob Dylan's grating voice. An amazing song writer but not a very good singer. Worth a listen for the lyrics, 3 stars.
Generational crowd pleaser. "Everyone has Rumors on vinyl๐๐" - Mr. Hamman. Who doesn't like this album every song on it is fun or beautifully composed. The only mistake of this album was that Silver springs wasn't on the original release. So so amazing, 5 stars
It was alright. Good opener for a new band but not a whole lot of re-playability, 3 stars
I tried to be impartial but this album is near unlistenable. I liked maybe one song on this but it is so frustrating to listen to. I don't think I could listen to this again, 1.5 (2) stars.
I mean it was okay, that's kind of as much as I can say. It felt like a greatest hits compilation. Every song has a very similar feel, 2.5 (3) stars
