Popular Reviews

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective

On the first song, I was skeptical. By the second song, I was intrigued. By the third song, I had moved to New York to start a new life.

In Rainbows by Radiohead

What is there to say? A perfect, unique, iconic rock album. Probably my top played album of all time, and in my top 5 favorite albums for sure.

Moon Safari by Air
Jun 13 2026

Extremely cool album to listen to while driving through the majesty Of Iceland

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Jun 14 2026

I still don’t think I get the white stripes. Little Room and The Union Forever are standouts. Jack White obviously has an artistic bent but something about his songwriting style just doesn’t do it for me. Very forgettable music all around to me. Is this blasphemy?

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jun 15 2026

I forgot how many hits are on this album. Something in the way. Lithium. And the ENDING. My god. An absolute classic. Not overrated, extremely rated.

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Jun 16 2026

Never knew about this project that Neil Young was involved in. Absolutely amazing songwriting. Loved it.

Jun 17 2026

Paul McCartney takes 1 hit of acid and starts making circus music. We start with a few 10/10 hits (Sgt Pepper's, Help from My Friends, Lucy). Then, every other song surprised me with how much I disliked them. What is it about LSD that made them want to use so much tuba? And then, like magic, the album ends with Day in the Life, the best song they every wrote and one of the best songs of all time. 4 stars.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Jun 18 2026

Hadn't heard about this band or album before. A hole in my music history knowledge. TIL about the Madchester scene. Overall loved it. Back half of the album is stronger than the front, to me. I can see why this is considered a rock classic.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jun 19 2026

An absolute banger factory and certified hood classic. 10/10, 5/5, whatever. Also Paul McCartney continues to show his cheese here. Love it. Somehow I've never heard their “it’s my girl” tug-of-war skit before. Hilarious.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jun 20 2026

This was a history lesson - and an insane one. This album caused the government to storm his house and kill his mother, after which he delivered her coffin to the president and vice president, and then release an album called Coffin for Head of State? Insane. Music changes the world. I haven't listened to much afrobeat, this feels like an important introduction. Very much enjoyed it.

Fuzzy by Grant Lee Buffalo
Jun 21 2026

Not my type of thing. Seems good though.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 23 2026

Great album. Americana has never been my thing, I glaze over, but I can tell a good song when I hear one. Also, I can't take glockenspiel seriously. 5 stars.

Jun 24 2026

I'm not even trashing it cause it's "artsy". I just think it's "artsy" in a way that doesn't have much sauce. The only song that really made me zone out into that good "experimental stare zone" was Read The Book That Wrote Itself

Jun 25 2026

My ears perked up at a certain point on the album. Turned out, I was listening to the collector's edition, what was perking my ears were the remixes. The rest, ok. I’d probably bug out a bit more live, but the sauce didn’t transfer to me on the album.

American Idiot by Green Day
Jun 26 2026

An absolute pop punk classic. So many bangers. The first album I’m reviewing that I’m biased towards. You absolutely need to hear this before you die. If it were 20 years ago, I think I’d rate it 4, but eh - I’m rating it higher with the power of hindsight and knowing the impact it’s made, and seeing how much of a triumph it really was. I think it deserves the 5.

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Jun 27 2026

I know one day this album will hit me at the perfect time, it’ll click, and I’ll rave about it. It’s happened before. I can’t force the issue in one day - 5 stars and moving on.

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Jun 28 2026
Jun 29 2026

This album rules. It feels weirdly modern. Will definitely be adding to the rotation.

Jun 30 2026

Insane production and musicality. Will I listen to it regularly? Probably not. But a huge achievement.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jul 01 2026

Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony…

The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett
Jul 02 2026

I was so bored. Couldn't finish. I must be missing context here, why was this in this list?

The Scream by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Jul 03 2026

Maybe on another day when I’m more receptive to new music I’ll like this better. But this time, I just had trouble getting through it.

Arise by Sepultura
Jul 05 2026

Sounds like metal from 1991

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective
Jul 15 2026

On the first song, I was skeptical. By the second song, I was intrigued. By the third song, I had moved to New York to start a new life.

Jul 16 2026

Great album that only gets me more 80s pilled than I’ve ever been. Forgot how intricate the production of Take On Me is. Some ultra-cheesiness prevents this from being 5 stars for me, but great album.

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Jul 17 2026

Really, really good. A surprise hit for me. Didn't realize how much I'd like 90s psych rock. A really full, dense sound, you can really sink into this album.

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Jul 18 2026

A classic. Joni is the best of the best.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Jul 19 2026
In Rainbows by Radiohead
Jul 21 2026

What is there to say? A perfect, unique, iconic rock album. Probably my top played album of all time, and in my top 5 favorite albums for sure.

In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
Jul 24 2026

Surprised me by how much I liked it. Feels samey across the whole album (Frank has 1 mode on this album), but it's the best execution of this kind of song. Haven't listened to any of his other albums yet, so I'm not sure how it compares.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Aug 08 2026

Hadn’t realized how many classics were on this album. Really good.

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
Aug 09 2026

Eh

Hysteria by Def Leppard
Aug 10 2026

Do I feel bad for the drummer? Absolutely. Does that mean this music is good? No

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Aug 12 2026

Didn’t finish it. I don’t dislike indie, but this was exhausting.

Electric Prunes by The Electric Prunes
Aug 14 2026

I don’t think I needed to listen to this album before I died
